Fair point -- I went back to the attorney who drafted it, had them add my name in the body, and confirmed the document complied with California notary law . Came back later in the day with the revised document. Rudy looked at it and said "something seems off." That was the entire explanation. No identification of what was off, no specific provision he objected to, no questions about my ID or the underlying transaction. Just refused. Took the same document to another commissioned California notary that same day. They reviewed it, verified my ID, administered the oath, and notarized it without any issue. Two visits, two trips back to my attorney for revisions he requested, and ultimately a vague refusal with no actionable feedback. A notary's job is to verify identity and witness an oath. If specific concerns exist, communicate them clearly so they can be addressed. "Something seems off" after you've already made the customer revise the document once isn't professional -- it's wasting their time.

Nonetheless, it was a very smooth process. We basically sat there, small talked, and we were finished in less than 30 minutes. No major time consuming financial questions were ask because we provided all necessary documentation. After all the information was added, we confirmed all of our information. The best part about our experience was the knowledge we gained from working with someone like Javier. Tony has a pair of experts to file taxes online within minutes for his clients. Just bring your W-2 form, $45.00 (cash only) and wait when you are needed to answer some questions. And after a fifteen-minute wait, they are done filing my taxes online. And Uncle Sam will be giving me money within 2-3 weeks. Money I can use for my pricey Warriors playoff tickets. These staff are fast and efficient. I will definitely be doing my 2019 taxes from Tony Lee in 2020.

However, three months later, when a deal for selling my mom's house in Russia was supposed to take place, it fell through because Larisa refused to provide her notary details for the Russian bank. The regulations in Russia had changed, and now they require a special form to be completed by the notary to verify their authenticity. When my mom came back to Larisa with this request, she flat-out refused. But the worst part was not even that! Instead of acting professionally, Larisa began to insult my mom personally. She started commenting on the fact that my mom is from Russia, that she is selling a house and will get money, while boasting that she herself came to the U.S. 35 years ago with only $300. She went on to say that people from Russia are "bad," brought up Crimea, and even claimed that my mom lives off her tax money with benefits and insurance -- which is absolutely not true, since my mom pays taxes herself. This was not only unprofessional but deeply offensive. My mom left in tears, humiliated and devastated, and the deal was ruined. It was a terrible experience! Not only did the transaction fall through, but my mom was subjected to insults and left in emotional distress. I strongly do not recommend this notary!
