M&M Dance is the best studio in the area by far! In addition to having fun, your dancer will learn proper dance technique! I visited several area studios before choosing M&M Dance and most studios were ok if you just want your kid to have fun... but not good for really learning anything of substance. I feel if you are going to pay for instruction, you should get meaningful instruction. I am spending my money so that my kids can learn the RIGHT way and have fun at the same time... so we chose M&M! 7 years later, we couldn't be happier! From the teachers to the dancers to the parents... these people have become our second family. It is such a warm, inviting group of people! And my two daughters learn so much more than dance at M&M... this studio has helped them to become poised, mature, confident, independent, respectful, and responsible girls. While I chose M&M because of the amazing dance technique taught there, these other life lessons they've learned along the way at M&M are invaluable! The instructors lead by example and are great role models! The M&M teachers have a true passion and love for dance so they are constantly learning more themselves from the best in the industry by attending dance conventions. They then pass this valuable information on to their dancers. Dancers at M&M have several different options as far as how far they want to go with dance. They can simply take recreational classes, they can be part of the performing group (who dances at parades and festivals in the summer), or they can try out to be in one of the two competitive teams (M&M Dance Company and Empower Dance Company). My daughter has been taking classes at M&M since she was 2 1/2 and is now 12, and my son is 3, and he has been dancing for a year. We LOVE it! The teaching staff is amazing! My daughter has taken classes from all of the teachers and I am impressed with their technical knowledge and the structure of their classes. After dancing recreationally until she was 10, she is now on a competitive team and I am in awe of her progress since she started. These teachers have transformed my child! Not only has she matured as a dancer, but she has also learned skills like time management and self-discipline. My favorite part of what she is learning is how to work hard to accomplish her goals, and the staff is there urging her on and sharing in her accomplishments every step of the way. The parents at the studio are very supportive and fun, which makes the waiting room a great place to be. No 'dance moms' here! My 3 year old son was very nervous his first couple of classes, but his teacher was so encouraging and fun that he couldn't wait to go back. He even danced in the recital in front of a huge auditorium filled with people and had the time of his life! Speaking of recitals, if you are looking for a dance studio, all you need to do is attend the spring recital and you will see the incredibly high level at which these dancers dance. Without the support of these amazing people, my shy daughter would not have grown into the self-confident young woman that she is becoming and I am sure that I will see the same results in my son! If you're looking for a babysitting session, this studio may not be for you! However, if you want your daughter to learn proper dance technique, discipline, time management, organizational skills, teamwork, respect, independence, responsibility, courage and dance her heart out, then this is the right place for you!!! My girls have danced at M&M Dance for about seven years and they have enjoyed their time in classes and competitions very much. They are continually learning and are being challenged every step of the way. The annual recital is the best in the whole Fox Valley area!!! We love watching the girls do what they love so much. The staff is extremely talented, hardworking and has been very accommodating to our family. My older daughter has attended classes in three other studios before moving to the area 10 years ago, and by far, this is the best dance studio we've found. 2 years ago my daughter decided she wanted to take dance lessons. After researching studios in the area we discovered a little studio tucked away in the town of Elburn. As a former dance instructor, I can honestly say that the quality of instruction at M & M Dance is far and away the best I have seen! The teachers are amazing and their commitment to excellent technique is outstanding. In the two years my daughter has been under the instruction of these dedicated teachers she has found a passion for dance that continues to amaze me. My daughter has been dancing at MMDC since she was 2 1/2 and has been there for the past 3+ years. We couldn't be happier!! While my daughter is still one of the younger dancers, she continues to grow as a dancer and is surrounded by AMAZING teachers who encourage their students and is mentored and looks up to the more advanced dancers. They are not just learning dance but also learning about good character, dedication & perseverance which are all characteristics I wish for my daughter. This dance studio is tops. My 12 year old daughter started dancing at M&M about 2 1/2 years ago. She went in to just take a Recreational hip hop class in the summer and I blinked and she was dancing competitively with MMDC. From the moment she walked into the studio, she never wanted to leave. She has learned so much more than dance instruction (which is the best around!) there. She has gained self confidence, time management skills and a second family. The owner, Michelle Miller, goes above and beyond dance instruction. She takes time to really teach these girls life lessons about bullying, kindness and appropriate conduct on social media. My daughter has danced at the studio for many years and she loves it as a dancer and I love it from a mother's perspective. My daughter who is 12 and has a lot of dance experience is also taught by "young adults" that are clearly qualified to teach and handle a full class of talented dancers. Many of these "young adults" go on to be successful in the dance world. It is not unusual for toddlers/children to be taught/coached by young adults in all areas of sports, not just at M & M dance studio. Example: My High school son coaches his own Lacrosse team of 2nd graders. I have never felt any of the staff to be disrespectful or rude. M&M Dance Company has been nothing but a wonderful experience for my 2 daughters and my family. Both of my girls started dancing as toddlers and have grown into outstanding, confident and thoughtful young dancers because of the teachers and positive role models at M&M Dance. I have a very positive opinion of M & M Dance and the owner and staff. I have 2 granddaughters enrolled in dance there. My oldest has been dancing there for almost 10 years and the youngest for 3 years. For the past 3 years or so, I have been at the studio at least once a week. I'm very impressed with the level of instruction they receive at all ages. They learn much more than dance while they are there.
