On the phone, I specifically requested an SUV for our trip from our hotel to the airport. I also, followed up with a text and asked again. It was verified via text that an SUV was assigned. When we arrived into Maui we were having a hard time getting a rental car and Martina and her company were always able and willing to accommodate our party of 6 at the drop of a hat to get us from point A to point B. She checked in with us everyday to see how everything went and if there was anything else we needed help with. After scouring Yelp for airport shuttle services on behalf of my mom and her traveling companion and not being confident in most of them after reading the reviews, I came across M&M Transportation's Yelp page and was very impressed as all of the reviews were 5 stars. Now I know why. From the outset when setting up the rides for my mom, Martina was very helpful and accommodating. She followed up as promised the day before the scheduled pick up from the airport and from the resort for the return trip. Michelle, the driver who picked her up, was in communication via text as soon as she got off the plane and was on time and right where she said she would be at the airport. The black SUV was beautiful, spacious and clean. Both my mom and her friend were so impressed by Michelle and found her to be fun, engaging, pleasant and very helpful for both trips. For the return trip, Michelle was again on time when picking them up from the resort in Kaanapali and made sure my mom got a wheelchair at the airport right away and got someone to get her luggage thru the agricultural check point very quickly. Reservations are easy to make over the phone, they take cash or credit card and everyone we dealt with was professional and very pleasant. Martina, Erik and Marek made our trip smooth and seamless. With the current rental car shortage and lack of drivers and staff at some hotels on Maui (due to Covid) it could have been difficult to get around the island but Martina and her crew were very helpful, accommodating, timely and communicated constantly with updates and tips on how to navigate some of the Covid restrictions that remain in place currently. Maui is in an odd spot right now in terms of transportation since car rentals are impossible to find. However, Mahalo Taxi makes it extremely easy to get around the island! I spoke with Martina over the phone and she was super kind and helpful and got me set up with a ride from Erik who was a great host and driver. Drove me to my hotel and had great conversation. Very knowledgeable about the island. I had another driver Mark take me back to the airport at the end of my trip. I made several other trips around the island and I'm so grateful that this service exists because I'm not renting a car with prices the way they are now. They really embody the aloha spirit here! My boyfriend and I were in Maui and we met Mike via the Road to Hana bec we accidentally lost our backpack with my new iPhone in it. I was certain we would never see the backpack and iPhone again. Then the next day Mike called my boyfriend's phone (we texted leaving my boyfriends phone number displayed on the screen) saying he was on a tour ride and came across our backpack in the middle of the road and picked it up. Lucky for us our backpack was found by a good honest guy. We met him and I was so happy and appreciative. Michael is by far the best taxi tour guide we have ever had. He has the brightest smile and is full of knowledge and charisma. He made our trip better than it would have been! I needed a taxi for 2 different days. Both days for an early morning pick up at around 5:30 am. to the airport. I went down the line calling taxi's available for that time. Most taxi's weren't available and one company even referred me to another. That company asked if I was paying cash or credit card. I told them what difference does that make? Then I called M & M. They were available for those days and I made reservations for a pick-up. For both days, the taxi driver, James was early and patiently waiting on the side. My husband was picked up on one day and my family the other. James was very professional, friendly, and courteous! You will always be the first company I will call from now one. We had 5 people with oversize luggage in our party. We were staying with a relative in Upcountry in Kula who picked us up on different arrival days but because we all departed the same day, she could not fit us all and our luggage in her small SUV. We checked rates with Uner & a couple other taxi services that were so gougingly expensive we pretty discouraged. But then my mom found M&M (late at nite) and called them for a quote, they were personable and friendy & were very reasonably priced so we scheduled a 9am appt. After talking amongst ourselves we were worried that we might have scheduled too early an appt. I txt our driver very early the next morning to ask for a 10am appt instead and she said "sure" She was 10 minutes early, put our heavy bags in and was super friendly! Mahalo Yamuna!!
