Had a fantastic ride with Moe & Shannon Very attentive and great to chat with. The horses are amazing and definitely mellow and kid friendly. We were paired well with our experience. We got to walk, trot and lope on the beach. As for past reviews with other "experienced riders" I believe there riding skills did not match there "true experience level" they said claimed to be advanced and "advanced riders" loosing a stirrup shouldn't have been an issue. If you're an advanced rider - you don't need stirrups. Or two hands to control the reins. I'm an intermediate and still consider myself a novice in many ways. I've done some jumping, endurance and barrels. I lost my stirrups too but I was still able to sit the lope without falling off nor a worry in the world. It takes a dummy to fall off of Moe's steady horses. I could ride her horses back and not feel that I'm in any danger. (Picture PROOF below - her horses are trained enough to be ridden one handed and respond well to rein, seat and legs) Either way, if you've never ridden before or no experience whatsoever; you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Just sit back and enjoy your ride.

Had an incredible ride with Shannon; We met Morgan and the horses we'd be riding: Casper and Kate. The horses were beautiful, both well-trained and even tempered (perfect for less experienced riders) as well as being well-groomed & kept. Coincidentally, we were the only ones booked during our time slot, so it felt as though we were getting a private VIP ride. The instructions were clear and we felt at ease that they knew exactly what they were doing. I could not stop smiling the whole ride. The view was incredible and the perfect route to see the beach and the mountains Highly recommend to anyone planning on going to Pacific City!! Thanks so much for hosting us!

This was an anniversary gift for my wife and she loved it!! Says her face hurts from smiling the whole time!! The host took great care of us. As I had never ridden before they put me on a super chill horse named Casper, he was great to ride. Riding on the beach and in the dunes was an amazing experience!! Highly recommend!!

Thank you Morgan!! Beautiful location, horses and experience. Our horses June and Star were awesome. Morgan was extremely nice in preparing us to ride and going over all the instructions. Once we got going, the experience just got better and better. Thank you to Moe and crew for a wonderful day. The weather played super nice as well.

I will have to say this was the most fun my family had and I had in a long time! One family member was scared of horses (after having a extremely bad experience on one years ago) and he ended up having more fun than anybody! I can say the pictures do not give this bucket list item justice. This is exactly how I always pictured how fun it would be! Moe was phenomenal, such an amazing and educated tour guide, her dogs and her made the trip worth every penny and when we visit Oregon again (go every year) will be doing it again and will totally go through Moes beach and trail rides!

    They deserve better

As we waited for Moes to get the horses saddled and and ready while brushing the poop off the horses I was disgusted when Moe started hitting a horse in frustration calling it "brat". Moe maybe try to create trust not intimidation with your horses. About 4 of the horses were restless, after that she was yanking the reins hard and speaking in a frustrated voice telling a different horse "that is not acceptable". I decided not to participate in the ride, my friends went as this was planned in advance. The horse trailer was filled with poop, the entire floor was covered and it was at least a foot high in several places. Please do not support thus business until they cure the following things that myself and my friends observed. wheezing, coughing, and hooves looked rough. I hope this review will encourage the gals to make changes with their animals Care. My friends said the gals that ran the business made excuses for the horses coughing saying it was allergies. One horse had just been wormed she said needed to buildmuscle, not sure if it was the same one that was babying a foot and they said it needed to build muscle and kept going. In the hour ride the one in front of my friend horses were farting and pooping about 10 times. Please care for your horses Moe and quit being a horse bully. Respect your animals and they will respect you. Jumpy horses from stress are not safe for multiple unknown riders. It broke my heart to see this. Horses poop and fart but I went to a great establishment in Long Beach a month prior and it was a completely a different experience than this nightmare

Response within a day to schedule out a family event! These ladies and their horses matched us up perfectly. Loved their furry babies that have their own protective loving pack! Enjoyed the history and funny stories created on our journey today! Highly recommended to get your trail ride in with this awesome small woman owned, small business!

From Wisconsin and was our first time here. Had a great experience celebrating our 25th Anniversary! Very friendly staff! Would highly recommend!

Grand kids and I had an amazing ride. Great horses, wonderful guide and the best trail. One of the coolest things we have ever done on the coast. I highly recommend this business.

The ppl who run this place look haggard like they are recovering from something. They need to shut down bc their better years running this outfit is over. They run their horses over & over again without much rest. I was sized with a horse that was way too big for me at 5'2" & 130 lbs. The horse I was given, gave the woman who works there an attitude as if to let her know, 'hey, I'm exhausted, can I please rest'. This horse rode hard the whole way. I FELL OFF THIS HORSE as she bolted hard left as we went back up the sand dunes. I've been hurting for an entire year now from my right shoulder to my neck and down my arm. I felt awful for the horse that day. She was 15 yrs old & her name was Bella. I wish I would have never ridden her that day. Also, they practically make you leave your phone behind. They promise to take pics from their phones & send it to you. They don't. I think them taking the phones is so patrons wouldn't takes pics of their exhausted horses or in case you fall off one who is highly disgruntled. This place is pathetic.

Because they didn't have enough horses to accommodate all of us at once, we were split into two groups. The rides last about an hour, so those of us who were in the second group headed down to the nearby Pelican Pub to grab a bite while we waited. When we headed back, we were each assigned our horse based on a physical assessment (and sort of on our previous riding history). I've had riding lessons in the past, and love horses, so I was given the privilege of riding Bella, a beautiful but somewhat finicky horse. She was very engaging to ride... as in, you had to stay engaged the whole time or she might take advantage of you, haha. None of these horses are really the trail-broken ones you'll find at some riding companies. They each have minds of their own, though some are definitely more... headstrong than others, haha. The trail we went on took us up the sand dunes and down onto the beach, then back up onto the dunes further down. The beach was lovely, but once we hit the top of the dunes, the views were incredible! I only wish it hadn't been so foggy on the day we went, because I can only imagine how far the view goes on a clear day! On the way back, we headed onto the beach again, where the winds had turned up something FIERCE. I was pretty severely wind- and sunburnt by the time the ride was over, so please, please, for the love of God, wear sunscreen. You'll also want to make sure you have a windbreaker or hoodie of some kind on, because even in the middle of July it was downright cold on that beach. All in all, I thought this was a very pleasant riding adventure, and since the other company we used to ride with on the coast is no longer in business, I imagine that if we have another trip out there, we'll definitely be going with Oregon Beach Rides again.
