Had a fantastic ride with Moe & Shannon Very attentive and great to chat with. The horses are amazing and definitely mellow and kid friendly. We were paired well with our experience. We got to walk, trot and lope on the beach. As for past reviews with other "experienced riders" I believe there riding skills did not match there "true experience level" they said claimed to be advanced and "advanced riders" loosing a stirrup shouldn't have been an issue. If you're an advanced rider - you don't need stirrups. Or two hands to control the reins. I'm an intermediate and still consider myself a novice in many ways. I've done some jumping, endurance and barrels. I lost my stirrups too but I was still able to sit the lope without falling off nor a worry in the world. It takes a dummy to fall off of Moe's steady horses. I could ride her horses back and not feel that I'm in any danger. (Picture PROOF below - her horses are trained enough to be ridden one handed and respond well to rein, seat and legs) Either way, if you've never ridden before or no experience whatsoever; you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Had an incredible ride with Shannon; We met Morgan and the horses we'd be riding: Casper and Kate. The horses were beautiful, both well-trained and even tempered (perfect for less experienced riders) as well as being well-groomed & kept. Coincidentally, we were the only ones booked during our time slot, so it felt as though we were getting a private VIP ride. The instructions were clear and we felt at ease that they knew exactly what they were doing. I could not stop smiling the whole ride. I will have to say this was the most fun my family had and I had in a long time! One family member was scared of horses (after having a extremely bad experience on one years ago) and he ended up having more fun than anybody! I can say the pictures do not give this bucket list item justice. This is exactly how I always pictured how fun it would be! As we waited for Moes to get the horses saddled and and ready while brushing the poop off the horses I was disgusted when Moe started hitting a horse in frustration calling it "brat". Moe maybe try to create trust not intimidation with your horses. About 4 of the horses were restless, after that she was yanking the reins hard and speaking in a frustrated voice telling a different horse "that is not acceptable". I decided not to participate in the ride, my friends went as this was planned in advance. The horse trailer was filled with poop, the entire floor was covered and it was at least a foot high in several places. Please do not support thus business until they cure the following things that myself and my friends observed. wheezing,coughing, and hooves looked rough. I hope this review will encourage the gals to make changes with their animals Care. My friends said the gals that ran the business made excuses for the horses coughing saying it was allergies. One horse had just been wormed she said needed to buildmuscle, not sure if it was the same one that was babying a foot and they said it needed to build muscle and kept going. In the hour ride the one in front of my friend horses were farting and pooping about 10 times. Please care for your horses Moe and quit being a horse bully. Respect your animals and they will respect you. Jumpy horses from stress are not safe for multiple unknown riders. It broke my heart to see this. Horses poop and fart but I went to a great establishment in Long Beach a month prior and it was a completely a different experience than this nightmare read more

WONDERFUL! We just went on a one hour beach ride with a group of 8 friends of various riding skills and had a fabulous time. Moe, True and Marni were all so charming and knowledgable and we felt so safe and taken care of. The dunes and the beach are STUNNING. My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard. I had the sweetest horse named Gidget and Moe's sweet sweet dogs came along to keep us company. Loved the caring vibe of everyone working there. You can tell they are true animal lovers it shows. We had company coming from Germany for a visit and the one thing their 11 year old daughter wanted to do in the USA was to go horseback riding. I found Moe's in Pacific City and called. She was so sweet and very helpful getting me set up with a beach and dune ride while we were at the coast. We had 4 riders and each was perfectly matched up with a horse according to their experience. Ella absolutely loved everything about it, as did the three adults who rode with her. It was a perfect day, and when they got back, Moe gave her some treats and she was allowed to give each of the eight horses a treat and a little petting. My group of four advanced women riders had a horrible experience with Moe. She does not deserve a one star rating. Moe and her helper, Shannon, spent the entire beach ride in front of our group talking to each other and paying little to no attention to what was happening behind them. Her four dogs ran wild around us on the beach and were not under voice control. When another woman who was on the beach with her dog yelled at her for violating beach leash laws, Moe yelled back that her dogs were service dogs (a joke!) and the rules didn't apply to them. One of our riders had a stirrup fall off her saddle while loping on the beach. She yelled for the "leaders" to stop, but it took about 10 seconds before they heard her and turned around. After "fixing" the stirrup we started out again, only to have the OTHER stirrup fall off! At that point Moe said, "If that happens again I'll switch saddles with you." The THIRD time the stirrup fell off, our friend was unable to keep her balance and fell off the horse while it was loping. She injured her shoulder and had bruises on her arm and face. She was able to get back on her horse after switching saddles, and we walked the rest of the ride. Moe never showed concern for the injured rider, and kept asking if we were having fun! At the end of the ride I told Moe that she should refund the injured rider's money, but all she offered her was a free one hour ride in the future!!! I would NEVER give this woman my business again. She provided faulty equipment, didn't pay attention to her riders, and refused to make amends when something went drastically wrong. read more

I've never left a negative review before, but in this case I feel like I must . I was on a beach ride with a group of advanced riders, when one of the rider's stirrup fell off and she had a bad fall. She had an injured shoulder, and bruises and cuts up and down one arm. Stirrups had fallen off twice before this incident, and not fixed correctly. We felt that she should have been refunded the entire amount, since it ruined her ride, and everyone else's, as we had to walk the rest of the way. The only compensation that was offered (to an injured and traumatized person) was a one hour future ride. Would not recommend read more

I was part of a group of four experienced riders on a ride that was very much looked forward to. (It was on my bucket list to lope on the beach). When I ride I understand the risk I take but when a failure of equipment is repeated 3 times that is inexcusable and this is what happened to my friend who was on this ride. First time loping her stirrup fell off, thankfully she was able to stop her horse while yelling to Moe to stop. Second lope her other stirrup fell off and once again stayed atop her horse while screaming for Moe to stop, At this time Moe told her if it falls off a third time she will change the saddle with hers. We loped (galloped) a third time and the stirrup feel off and my friend wasn't so lucky and fell off. Very scary situation. My friend injured her shoulder and you could see swelling on her elbow and wrist. Her saddle was finally changed and thankfully my friend was able to mount her horse and we all walked back to the trailer. Why it took 3 times of equipment failure to have her saddle finally switched is honestly unacceptable!!! I should also tell you that Moe never got off her horse to check out the condition of my friend. To me that is unacceptable of somebody who is in charge. And then Moe didn't even do anything to compensate my friend for her awful experience. My friend should never have had to pay for her ride - Moe had no remorse for her part in the accident. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would. This was an AMAZING experience. My husband planned this as a surprise for my birthday and it couldn't have been any better. We got the most beautiful sunset while riding and the weather was perfect. The team were all so so great. The trail was gorgeous - we got to ride uphill and downhill, go through a tiny forest and ride in the beach. They also took LOTS of pictures and videos of me and my husband while riding. We are so grateful to Moe and the rest of the team for making this happen for us and for being so amazing throughout the whole process. We will definitely send everyone we know their way. These guys are AMAZING!!! I took my boys down to the beach for our last big trip before my oldest Ships out for their army. It was a really important trip to make a great memory and they were so accommodating, and even took my phone along the trail ride to take lots of great photos for me of my two boys together! She worked for a different trail riding company for several years and recently started her own business. Moe, her mom and sister work together in the business -- all of whom obviously love horses and are super friendly and patient with novice riders.
