From the time you enter inside the place to the time exists, you ll learn a lot of things about nature. They maintained it really well and once you walk out from the other end, you ll see a very pretty bridge with water flowing. And there are couple of small trails outside of the forest center. There's a light house just right outside to experience the beautiful place from top. Overall, we really enjoyed visiting this place. Definitely a must visit if you are around.

There are not enough words to express the gratitude for everything they have and, continue to do for my family and I. We met Linda a year ago, never imagining how it would impact our lives in such a beautiful, meaningful and special way. When we met Linda, she showed us her farm as she was also sharing learnings about the love, healing and care of horses in such an easy way for our kids to comprehend and appreciate. Her values, approach and love for nature blew our minds. As we approached the end of our meeting, my husband and kids walked back to the car while I stayed with Linda a little longer as I wanted to share with her that my son was recently diagnosed with ADHD and, I wanted to get her thoughts about how (and if) horse riding lessons could benefit my son. Keep in mind, that the isolation driven by the pandemic only added to my son's anxiety and enhanced other issues. I was desperate and i was at a breaking point where I felt so helpless and thought there might not be something out there that would be safe and could help us. As I was sharing this with Linda and, tears ran down my mask, she gave me a strong hug and continued to listen. She didn't have to listen to me, she didn't have to comfort me and she certainly didn't have to give more of her time yet, she did and, willingly with such a pure loving heart. Horse riding lessons was certainly a game changer for my son, Kelly is instrumental! My son gained confidence, he was able to start looking into his trainer eyes when talking and being talked to, he was able to be and remain calmed most of the time, he connected with each horse he rode, he cared and respected horses feelings, etc... so many benefits. Heck, I even started learning how to connect with horses and care for them (I even got to have a few riding lessons myself). It certainly takes a village. I could probably write a book here . We are so thankful, blessed and happy to be part of the Wild Horse Mountain Farm family. BIG shout out to Linda and Kelly! Thank you for all that you do and all that you are.

This adventure was a bucket-list item for me, and the experience was better than expected! The…read moreweather was perfect, the view was spectacular, and the overall experience... there are not enough words! Our pilot Brian was very friendly, made our small group comfortable, educated us on safety, and really put us at ease. Kelly, the company owner, is also friendly, capable, and engaging. The former owner Pierre was on hand as a crew member to help get the balloon ready and met us at the end to help deflate the balloon and return us to our starting destination. I went skydiving once, and this is so much nicer! It's relaxing, you have time to enjoy the view, and it's a beautiful way to start the day. I highly recommend Vista and all their crew!

Its a beautiful (albeit short) walk in from the trail head...but truthfully it's quite a drive back in there just for this falls...especially when you consider how many stunning falls we have in the PNW.

5 star hike, minus one star for noisy conditions…read more Less than 1 hour from Portland, this trailhead is about 17 miles west of Banks. The turn off, Beaver Dam Road, from Hwy 6, is well marked and you get lots of warning. Immediately on the right is a road crew area. There is a trailhead on the other side of that, but you can't park there. If you go straight though, and then make a left at the T, you'll come to a large parking area with potties, info, and another trailhead. You can see it as point of origin on the map I posted, this is where I set out for my 8.2 mile hike. I ended it at the trailhead by the work area. You could also turn right at the T and drive to any number of trailheads, including one that makes getting to University Falls a shorter walk. I prefer the long way. I took to the trail on Jan 3, during a break in the rain. It was very wet. Often there was water running directly down the trail, and it got deep enough to slosh over the toes of my boots. Mud was often 3" deep, or more. Large puddles on the trail you just have to walk through. No going around. Not a big deal since I had my waterproof hiking boots and merino socks. Just wanted you to know your converse high tops aren't going to cut it. It was about 45-48 degrees, and the sun broke thru a couple of times. Not very windy, so my merino base and lite mid were just right. Kept my shell open most of the hike. It was beautiful, truly. The river was kind of raging, all churned up mud and white rapids. The trail was well marked and easy to follow up and down the groves of trees. The two waterfalls were breathtaking, especially University Falls, which was as full as any photo I've seen. The water was definitely higher than usual. I loved every bit of the trail. And now the minus one star. There was constant noise from motorcycles and firearms. I don't want to editorialize about dirt bikes and hand cannons, but it was hard to immerse myself in nature with the omnipresent noise. There was no place on that trail where I couldn't hear it. The dirtbikes are thankfully not on the hiking trail. There is a separate trail system for that, and the tracks do cross sometimes so keep an eye out. For mountain bikes, you'll hear the dirtbikes. I have no idea where the shooters were, but they were close. No comment, not looking to have that discussion. It's just good to know before you get there what it will be like. Enjoy the photos. The staff was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. We went over wooden shoe tulips, and it was stunning. I like…read morehow they also do a toast after the ride and a small speech about the history of hot air balloons. -*: However, their advertising instagram page is a little misleading. We booked for the shared tulip rides: but somehow 2 out of the 3 total hot air balloons( such as the one we were in) did not go through the tulip fields that are blooming. Only 1 hot air balloons did the route as what they presented in social media. We ended up just looking far from a distance and only floated over the green tulip fields that haven't boom yet. A little disappointed there and felt like their instagram page is misleading where the hot air balloons are all portrayed floating on the tulips. In reality, only 1 out of 3 hot air balloons will get the view. Also, after the ride, they will ask you to help them put back the hot air balloon equipment. From my previous hot air balloon company experience such as in Napa, none of us were expected to do the heavy and cleanup work. if I had to pay for a service and on top of tipping, I don't expect myself to do the grunt work, especially not in the wet mud. It's like expecting myself to clean up the plates after eating at a fine dining restaurant and tipping. They should definitely hire more helpers or have better cleanup equipments. Overall, I still enjoyed the ride. It just did not meet the expectations of paying 250/pp and how it advertised online.
