I really hate to do this since I love seeing small, family-owned businesses succeed. However, my…read moreexperience was such an extreme turn-off that what was my first visit will also be my last. I am in the beginning stages of planning my sister's baby shower. The time to print and buy shower invitations is now upon me. Also, I've been the to sushi place next door a few times at night and always admire the gigantic giraffe in the window. I stopped in yesterday with my boyfriend to check out and get a price on the giraffe (baby present, hello!) and see what kind of invite printing/customization they offer. The employees were sitting in the back, talking to another customer about an order she had placed. There is a bell, and the place is not that big; they clearly saw and heard us walk in. We were given a quick glance, and that was it. We walked around for five or ten minutes, looking at the invitations and small children's toys/gifts that they had. We even were obviously looking at the giraffe and trying to look for a price tag! Still, no one said a single word to us or gave us a second glance. We left without making a purchase, and I will NOT be returning. It's a shame, because they had several invites that I liked and obviously the giraffe I wanted to buy. Horrible, terrible customer service!

Ellen was very responsive and flexible to our needs and worked through every detail and invitation change we had. My daughter lives out of town, so it could have been difficult, but she made it very smooth. Not to mention, the invitations were absolutely gorgeous and we received several compliments on them as well. Their selection is abundant and prices are good. Highly recommend! Carrie E. Kirkwood

I love how they are a non-profit so proceeds go to those in need. I've been making needlepoint keychains for years now for thoughtful handmade gifts. Very unique place for the crafters of the world. My daughter is now 27. The new store is larger, brighter and has much more merchandise. The new, expanded store is full of so many other things. Gifts, probably many for wedding gifts. Cheese, spread platters. Serving plates, bowls. Gorgeous stuff. Tervis glasses of many dimensions. MIZZOU stuff, KC stuff. Jewelry, baby gifts, baby clothes, beautiful picture frames, hand-woven rugs. Solmate socks (http://www.socklady.com/index.php), including those for children with an extra sock. Genius! An exceptional amount of Easter decorations which looked unique to me. So bright and cheery. I didn't mess around much in the yarn/thread/pattern area of the store, which is probably half of the store. But there's a lot of stuff there. My girlfriend brought in some embroideries she'd done for Christmas tree ornaments. You can do the needlework, and have them do the finishing. That was her mission. I think five people came to review and understand her request. To get it right. Because she's particular about what she wants. This isn't just a store. It's a philanthropic endeavor: http://www.signofthearrow.com/about-us/ Everyone who works there is a volunteer. Started in 1966, it's a community support organization from the St. Louis Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi. A great place to patronize.
