This seems to be the only place in animal kingdom where you can buy a magic band. I saw the utility…read moreof them quickly because it was a big pain in the butt ha I no to get my phone out every ride/for photo pass/etc. But I was annoyed; I used the mobile payment to finish my transaction. Then I had to wait for someone to check my purchase before leaving, yet they didn't come confirm my purchase until after they'd checked out someone who entered the regular line *after* I'd already been waiting at the mobile check out stand for a few minutes. That felt like it defeats the purpose a bit. They have a lot of stuff though, and different than the Island Merchantile across the way.

This store is so much fun to shop at! I usually visit it every time when I'm at Disney World's Animal Kingdom. There are a wide range of gifts, housewares, mickey ears, pins, travel snacks, apparel and accessories! I ended up getting a customized 2024 Snow Globe from Riverside Depot. The team members are fantastic at this shop! It's typically not that busy either. It's a great place to stop at, especially during the summer, if you're looking for a air conditioned building and some cold drinks as well!

Wonderful shopping and entertainment district. So much to do and see here. There's actually decent…read morerestaurants here though they are more expensive but the food for the most part is good. So many ways to entertain yourself and it really does have a Disney vibe here. Great place to get Disney merchandise without going into the parks or just walk around.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Disney Springs, formerly Downtown Disney, has fallen out…read moreof favor with me a little bit. Maybe it's because I'm older now, but I find the whole experience much more exhausting than I remember. It's incredibly hot, and it feels like everything has been engineered around getting you to spend money. Want to sit down somewhere? It seems like you need to be eating, drinking, shopping, or otherwise spending money to have access to a comfortable place to sit. Sometimes I just want to sit for a few minutes, enjoy the scenery, people-watch, and take a break without having to buy something. I don't care what age you are. Sometimes you just need somewhere to sit. The food was decent, but honestly, I can find good food in plenty of other places without having to navigate the whole parking situation, walk through security, and then spend money every time I turn around. The constant retail focus and pressure to spend money just doesn't create a particularly relaxed environment for me anymore. What's funny is that I remember coming here when I was 27 and being completely blown away by it. Back then, I thought Downtown Disney was incredible. I even spent a few nights going to the clubs, and those nights were absolutely epic and fun. I have some great memories from that time. But today, the experience feels different to me. Everything seems so carefully designed to extract another dollar from you that it starts to feel almost mercenary. There's nothing wrong with a business wanting to make money, but when the commercial aspect becomes so noticeable that it affects your ability to simply relax and enjoy being there, it changes the experience. I think I've reached a point where I'd rather spend my time somewhere with a lower-stress atmosphere. I want to go somewhere, walk around, enjoy the scenery, sit down when I feel like it, and have a good time without constantly feeling like every basic comfort comes with a price tag. Maybe it's me getting older. Maybe it's Disney Springs changing. Maybe it's both. But these days, I'd rather spend my money somewhere that makes me feel like a guest instead of a walking wallet.
