Not my favorite nail salon in Pittsburgh, but I went here twice before finding out about Brush Studio which is literally a block away (which is now my fav studio!! Highly recommend them) I got these nails done for a special occasion. I didn't realize they don't really do designs (heads up) so when I showed them a picture of what I wanted, they were pretty hesitant. They had to simplify they design a lot so it doesn't look exactly as I pictured, but I think it turned out not bad! I like the shape of my nails too. I've also gotten green french tip nails done by them another time and didn't love how they turned out -- they looked a little flat and the base color was way too opaque. The technicians are really nice, but I probably wouldn't recommend this place because it's really pricey for the quality you get imo. The appointments here can take extremely long so just be aware of that when fitting an appointment into your schedule -- especially if you're getting something more complex done. It's a small studio so not too many seats and you might have to wait even if you scheduled an appointment. My gel manicure took over an hour and a half if I remember correctly. read more

Came in to have dip polish removed specifically because the way they have always done it in the past has been the most efficient I had seen (only about 15 min without soaking your whole hand in acetone using the grinder etc.) My mom had to have hers removed and instead of just saying they were too busy, had us come back 15 min later, then wait for another 30, then wrapped the nails and went to do a full manicure, checked on status and then went and did another full manicure. I finally stood up to check her nails and someone came over to remove the foils. It ended up being 1.5 hours without even cutting or filing her nails after. I was then overcharged for this service that I literally could have done at home. The point was the grinder and how efficient it had always been. This salon had already stopped honoring appointments, so I had to stop going, and now I'll never go back for anything. read more

I'm not typically one to write bad reviews but In this instance I see no other choice. We booked appointments for 1:30 just our nails to not even be started on until after 2. I completely understand with covid and places being understaffed but I don't think it's acceptable to book more clients than you can handle and then rush to get to the next client. Where do I begin with this experience. I came in for a pedicure and dip manicure. My nail tech, Peter, gave a decent pedicure. However, when I got my dip done, he was very rude, constantly yelling at me not to move my head or talk. I was scared to speak up to him once I saw how awful my nails looked. The worst my nails have ever looked leaving any salon. I came in the next day to have them fixed, and my new nail tech and peter got in an obvious fight over my bad manicure in the middle of the salon, resulting in Peter storming out. I greatly appreciate the woman that fixed my nails, and they look quite nice now, but this experience as a whole was too negative for me to ever return. Do not recommend! Every time I go, I make an appointment and they're still 30 minutes to an hour late. At my last appointment, I asked the guy to put my flip flops on before applying my polish. This used to be my favorite nail salon, but it has unfortunate gone down hill and been consistently inconsistent. I used to love pedicures at M Nail because the technicians were throughout and detailed, all while I enjoyed a chair massage. Now I leave more stressed than when I arrived. The technicians seem rushed and annoyed while doing your nails. The last time I had a gel manicure and pedicure my total was $95 before tip and my friend remarked that the lady doing my nails "Looked really annoyed" while doing my nails and I had been thinking the same thing the entire time. The quality has also gone down hill and my nails don't last and don't look much better than when I do them myself. I come here often for gel polish manicures and changes. They always do a good job and my nails don't chip very easily. Today I went in with a pretty ingrown nail that I was convinced they would have to skip over, but the person I was with managed to file it very gently and used a little glue, and it feels a lot better than it did before (and it looks cute, too.) This is my favorite place to get my nails done! Both locations (Aiken and Walnut) are fabulous. Everything is clean and well-maintained, the manicurists are meticulous and always do an amazing job, and overall they are quick. While they take appointments, they also will take anyone who walks in, so I've had to wait past my appointment time--which is frustrating. However, if you make an appointment with a specific beautician you'll be more likely to actually get in at your appointment time. So figure out who you like to go to and request them. You could also just walk in! I always get dip manicures (there are a bunch of colors to choose from), but I've also gotten gel which turns out great as well. Peter did an amazing job on my nails. I'm extremely picky and had no complaints! All of my nails were even and the paint was perfect. Peter had great attention to detail. It's been over 4 weeks since getting my nails done and they are all still perfect (aside from being grown out) and none of the paint is lifting from any of my nails. In addition to the usual services, the pedicure included a scrub, lotion and hot towel for only $33. I was really looking forward to getting my nails done at M Nails today, so I called ahead of time and made an appointment. I arrived 5-10 minutes early, told them I had an appointment and what the appointment was for, and they told me to go pick out my nail color. Despite having an appointment, I had to wait nearly 30 minutes before someone who worked there even bothered to direct me out of the waiting area and into an (unprepared, unmanned and empty) pedicure chair, and I think they only bothered to move me because I made eye contact with a nail tech. After half an hour of waiting past my appointment time, I decided to leave. Nobody seemed to care about the egregious wait (and nobody else was in the wait area, so I don't think it was a case of being backed up by appointments), and they also looked like they couldn't care less when I decided to leave. I wonder how much longer I would have had to wait past my appointment time before finally being seen. Maybe an hour? More? Who knows. I just wish someone had the courtesy to tell me they no longer had time to see me before I wasted so much time. read more

Came here during my weekend trip to Pittsburgh since I didn't have time to get my nails done before leaving. I was very impressed with the appearance and cleanliness of this place. It was very easy to walk in and I immediately got service (even when it looked a little busy). I was impressed with how speedy they did my nails. Sadly - I feel bad writing this but felt like I had to. My friend and I have been going to M salon for a while for manicure / pedicure. Last couple of times we went and despite having appointments - waited up to half hour. We're both busy working mothers and it's not easy for us to carve out time. We understand that timing can't always be exact. However last week , we booked appointments together for 5:30pm. When we got there , no one was free. And so we waited. I waited a half hour and they started me. An hour passed before my friend finally gave up and left without a manicure or pedicure. I felt terrible because factoring in her drive there , waiting and then going home , she wasted 2 hours with nothing to show. What leaves me upset is that there was no attempt by the salon to make amends for wasting my friends time. They should have at the least offered her a complimentary manicure / pedicure for a later date but they offered nothing but a weak apology. My friend is an emergency room doctor, she works hard and overnights. They treated her like her time meant nothing. And from my discussion with the manicurists - there is no reason to think this couldn't happen again. They have no process to ensure that they can honor customer appointments.
