I hired A2B Movers after doing a search on Yelp to help me with my move. It was easy to request a…read morequote and they were very quick to respond with an estimate after giving them a few details, like how many rooms I have, what big furniture needs to be moved, how many floors my place is, etc. I was only moving a couple blocks away and from a one room to a two room and a one floor to a two floor. They recommended one truck and two men to help and it was about $110 an hour plus a truck rental fee. I paid in cash so I got a small discount on the hourly rate. Rather reasonable compared to the other quotes I got. They were great at communicating with me leading up to my moving day as well as the day of. My movers, Dmitri and Bohdan, showed up right on time and were very professional, friendly, and efficient. They helped disassemble my furniture (and put it back together) and wrapped up everything as needed. I even had a giant plant that I wasn't sure how to move, but since I was only going a short distance, they wrapped it up and secured it in the truck to take over. At one point I even got a little emotional about saying goodbye to my old place and they were so sweet to me. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and can't thank them enough for the help. I feel like most people describe moving as a stressful, but for me it was a breeze.

I had the best experience using A2B Movers with Roman's crew. The guys were thorough, fast and…read morecommunicated with me throughout the move. They took apart my bed and put it back together, which I was very grateful for. They treated each item with care, wrapping them in plastic wrap or blankets. I let them know I'm advance that I'd need several wardrobe boxes and they delivered. I hope it's a very long time before I move again, but I would absolutely use A2B Movers again. It was a great value for the money.

Almost 2 weeks ago, I hired this company to move items from a townhome to an apartment. Chris, the…read moreowner, seemed cordial at first... saying his guys would do the job as close to four hours ($500 "deposit" and $134/4 hrs. thereafter) as was possible. The 2 guys that showed up on moving day (20 mins. late) looked a bit skeptical. They came in & began moving some things. At some point, they decided to take a smoke break. I received a call & I had to go to the new place to do paperwork. I asked the guys if they would be o.k. if I left for an hour or so. I hated to leave them alone with my stuff, because they clearly needed supervision. I returned my keys to the landlord and returned to the townhome. The dark-haired guy said they were headed to the apartment. I asked if they'd be there in an hour. He said they would. I showed up at the apartment & they had parked the semi right inside the main drive to the building! I went to the apartment and noted a few things that had been brought in. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to me to inspect my belongs at the time, so I went back outside. Apparently, at some point, the guys attempted to move my sofa, but couldn't because "it was too long." Instead of telling me there was an issue or loading the sofa back onto the semi, they placed my sofa in a fire escape!!! I did not discover this until after they left! They left behind MANY of my belongings... ALL of my personal belongings (a lot!), a very cherished family photo album that held my only pics of my son & other family members, stereo system, unopened containers of arts & crafts supplies, trash bags, freezer bags, SOS pads, paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, aluminum foil, typing paper, computer paper, my cookbook collection (Joy of Cooking, BHG, 2 vegan books, Oprah & Rosie, thick/hardback cooking vegetables, Not Just Beans cookbook & menus, etc.), exercise equipment (5 pieces), vintage Bonkers! board game, vintage Othello board game, vintage Clue board game, Payday board game, Perfection board game, Connect Four board game, vintage chess set, UNO card game, Skip-Bo card game, 3 decks playing cards, 12-15 puzzles. Also missing was antique wood 2-shelf storage unit, table lamp with pewter base and modern maroon lampshade, clothing (much), shoes (8-10 pair), books (20+), Wolfgang Puck stainless steel large cooking pot, full/opened container of Folgers coffee, unopened bag sugar, son's clothing/shoes/trophies (5), many (8) storage container. Between 4-5 that afternoon, the dark-haired guy approached me & said they were going over on time & that if I wanted them to finish the job, I would have to call the person who was paying for my move & tell them they would have to o.k. them to charge her credit card $490 MORE!!!!! I said I was not calling her (so I could stress her out, too??!), so... what does this guy do? He goes behind my back, gets my friend's phone number & calls her, himself!!! He lied to her about how long they had been working, then turned around & lied to Chris (company owner), as well!!!!! All in all, they bilked her/credit card for $990.00, for a move from North Pkbg. to Vienna (not far from old Kmart). All that, after Chris promised it would not cost over $634.00. Their math, indeed, does not compute. While the other guy was shoving my loveseat through the doorway, he said something to t.v he dark-haired guy about not messing with it, because he "broke the frame." Also, at the completion of their half-***** move, the dark-haired guy came up with papers in-hand. Not explaining anything, he said, "Sign here, here, here & here." Then, he turned & left.

Initially these guys were great. They worked with me when I kept changing my moving date and when…read morethe date was finally a firm date they were punctual. I was told there would be a 7% fee if using a credit card. I thought we'd need a huge truck so they brought a 25' and a 16' truck. The guys packed it so well that they only needed the 25' truck. One of the bosses was told that the antique Singer sewing machine was very delicate. Unfortunately it was damaged in the move anyways. The bosses brought 3 other guys and they were all great at the move-from-house. We wanted a head start to the move-to-house so they decided to have lunch before heading out. We gave them part of the tip early for lunch; $100. When they arrived at the move-to-house it was only the 3 guys, the bosses said they had other business to attend to which was cool. Unpacking went fairly smoothly. Not all boxes ended up in the rooms that were marked on the boxes though. One of the movers used the bathroom and either didn't flush or should have flushed twice. It was disgusting to lift up the lid and find crap in the toilet. At the end the crew chief and I went to settle up and instead of being $1850 as stated, he said it was $1,942. I asked if the extra was taxes and he said "yeah." It was a long day, I was tired so I didn't question it. They did not provide a receipt either. I also tipped an additional $20/worker so the total I wrote the check for was $2,002. Later I did the math and figured he charged me an additional 5% which was $92.50, then he rounded down. I hate to assume, and it seems a bit shady, but it seems he charged the additional 5% for them as a tip. We had researched what a tip should be and 5% to 10% seemed about right and we came in at the high end at $160. I knew it wasn't a fee for using a credit card because that would of been 7% (and we paid by check) so I attempted to contact them about this issue. I didn't hear back until I texted and said I wanted to resolve this issue before writing a review. I wanted to give them a chance to resolve the issue first. He finally responded and felt I was threatening them, which was not my intention. He said he'd look into it. Almost 3 weeks later I sent another text. It's been almost a week and still not a peep. It was shady of that guy to charge me 5% and I want my $92 back! If you use these guys, ask for a receipt at the end of the day and make sure it is for the correct amount. By the way, he did send us a paid invoice when a receipt was requested, but it was only for the $1,850 and not what we were actually charged which was $1,942.
