So excited to have a Mac counter in Atlantic Station. I walks in and asked for a dramatic eye and a bold pink lip. The young lady said "Wait so you want a bold lip AND a bold eye?" I said "Yup" She pauses... " Where is Khary? She needs Khary" 2 minutes later .... We were getting started Khary was professional and gave me exactly what I wanted. I hate when I ask for a smokey eye with a pop of color and come out looking like a freakin my little pony reject. Khary got the sexiness I was aiming for with the pop of color I wanted. I'll be going back for lessons. Love the dynamic of the staff and the way they treated customers (even the lady that was in there for an hour asking about almost every product knowing she didn't come to spend ... Hey guys! As a former mac artist and a now hairstylist/makeup artist for film tv, weddings, photo shoots etc I must complain. This complaint is actually for my girlfriend who doesn't own a Yelp account. Anyway, here goes. Nikki went in today to get a basic makeup tutorial and advice on how she can "up her daily makeup game." Her MAC makeup artist named "Nicola??" did a horrific job. There's no shadow on her brow line, the eyeliner towards the inside of her eye isn't fully on, and she has one wing on my right side. Her left eyebrow is fat and it looks like she's been punched in the nose. When I went through MAC training I had already gone to a prestigious makeup school, been doing professional makeup for years, and had to jump through hoops doing practical applications as part of my MAC interview process. Perhaps more extensive training classes should be provided or a new career suggestion because this is a terrible representation (makeup application) of MAC. There are a million talented makeup artists out there who could really benefit your company and store. read more

So today I had the pleasure of meeting 'Superman' professionally known as Demorris Adams , and let me tell you he saved me today. My birthday is this Wednesday and I was in need of a foundation that worked with my oily skin. I am usually intimidated by makeup professionals because I am still in the learning process. Mr. Adam took his time to break down not just the products but also showed me a few tricks. He was not cocky, impatient, or unapproachable which is sometimes what you can experience in makeup stores . If I could give NO STARS I would.... Worst customer service I've ever experienced & I'm from LA, I know bad customer service. Kyrie (or however you spell it) acted like a complete diva and pretty much refused to do my makeup because they were "all booked up", as he continued to clean or unbox new products. When he tried to pass me to another lady, (both free to do my makeup after the Manager Cedric already said they would be able to squeeze me in) they both talked loudly about how "they don't feel like doing makeup today"....TF would I look like letting someone touch my face who doesn't feel like working today?!...A clown, that's what lol Like, did you want my money or not? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERRRRRR. me and my friends walk in and they act like we were gonna steal something and keep asking what im looking for like idk yet, LEMME LOOK ? i ask her if she has another scent for the fix plus and she told me " oh fix plus only has one scent" NOT TRUE. she doesnt even know anything about makeup, i ask her about the new highlighters and she doesnt know either. This MAC location(Atlantic Station inside Dillard's) is amazing! Everything is pretty much always in stock and the employees are super friendly,helpful,and their faces are ALWAYS PERFECT! Chanel is super cool and Brittany is super sweet and helpful! I appreciate them going the extra mile and being super patient with me in search of anything I need when it comes to beauty! Wow, customer service here is terrible. The main reason I go to a physical MAC store instead of ordering online is to get the opinion of the make-up artists before purchasing. I went into this MAC counter knowing I was debating between two shades of concealer. The employee here was unwilling to provide any opinions. After I had each concealer under separate eyes I again asked her for her opinion, her response "It doesn't matter what I think, you have to wear it" with an attitude. True, I know ultimately I make the decision, but I thought you would have more experience in this area than me and plus I've never had difficultly getting an opinion out of a make-up artist anywhere else before. She did give me a speech on the differences between NC and NW shades, but did not provide an opinion on what she thought I was. She even forgot which shade was under which eye. I can't believe she got commission on my sale. I like MAC products, but I will stay away from this counter next time I want a "professional" opinion. read more
