Super friendly staff helped me book my appointment and gave me instructions on how to send his current medical records to them, all of which I did ahead of our appointment. When I arrived, during the COVID pandemic, they were asking people to call when they arrived and they would come out, check you in, and take your pet inside for their check-up. This seemed to work really well. I arrived and called, and Caleb came right out and made sure paperwork was all filled out. He took my little guy inside and within 5-10 minutes the vet was calling me with an update. Everything was super efficient and everyone was super nice. I received a follow-up email and I think I even got a phone call checking to make sure he was doing okay. SUPER HAPPY with the service, care and affordability.

This past fall, my wife took our dog in for her yearly check up and was kept in the waiting room for 45 minutes before being taken into a room. The most recently time I took our dog in for a small concern. I was immediately taken into a room and was seen quickly by the the tech/assistant. I then was left in the room for 35 minutes with no communication. After deciding to leave, I told the person at the check in desk what had happened and I was met with a halfhearted "ok." No apology, no offer to check on what had happened, nothing. This office has gone downhill ever since COVID hit. We will not be going back.

My pup was then on recovery for two weeks after being spayed and Just before she was to go back I get an email that my dog should try their other facility without an explanation as to why. It felt very negative so I emailed the trainer at Dog Bay North asking what was going on with my pup in their care. I then finally get an email from the owner telling what the issues with my pup were. I feel if I had known that 3 weeks prior I could have worked with my pup and looked at alternatives. I was extremely upset on how they handled this. I had only had my pup less than a month when she went there and was just learning her myself. Their lack of feedback hindered my learning on what my pup needed for training. Unfortunately I will never use this facility again. Only other issue I had was anytime I tried to call them the line is always busy. I had a hard time trying to get the days paid for. Their office skills are a bit lacking. The only plus is the employees at this facility are very nice and care about the pets that are there.

Today I called to set up an appointment for my daughter's guinea pigs and was told they have a new policy. They are now charging ahead of time a fee of $91 per guinea pig just to make the appointment, as a down payment before they're even seen. The woman on the phone said it was because some customers don't show up for their appointments. So, East Veterinary Clinic has decided that everyone else will now apparently be punished for those that don't show up. I told her that was too bad because we would need to wait until next week for pay day then, to schedule an appointment since we can't schedule unless we pay $182 now. My chiropractor does this too but they simply take your credit card info and hold unto it unless you don't show up to your appointment and are then charged a fee. Only the person who fails to show up is charged, not everyone else. Yes, they apply that $182 towards your appointment once there, but for college students like my daughters, that's a lot of money. They live paycheck to paycheck. They were going to get paid on the Thursday before the appointment on Friday, and it wouldn't have been a problem. I understand the Clinics frustrations with no-shows, but I think they need to find a better solution for this. My daughter called a few other veterinarian places and they do not have this policy. So, just be aware that now to make an appointment at East Veterinary Clinic in Holland, you will need to pay for your visit ahead of time. If you are unable to do that, there are other clinics in the area that told us they do not do this.

I know doctor can't give sick cat with fever rabies vaccine. My other doctor from Indiana was correct, She exam my different cat, Jilly and found out that she had fever, She can't give her rabies vaccine until she get better and have no fever. Google show that sick cat with fever can't have rabies vaccine. They went ahead and give Chessie rabies vaccine. They didn't care about her allergy and fever. I took her to other vets for allergy vaccine many times since 2017 and don't require rabies vaccine. They care about staff and don't care if sick cats and dogs die from rabies vaccine. They just want to make money. They sucks.

We have a Golden Retriever we brought in for a total knee replacement. The surgery went outstanding…read moreand her leg has healed faster than we even expected. However this is where the good ends. In followup from her surgery she has inexplicable scars on both her lips which we assume are from her teeth during surgery; however the vet won't provide any further explanation or take any responsibility so apparently she cut her lips miraculously. While taking the prescription drugs prescribed by them she had diarrhea which was to be expected; however she had a breakout of what is anticipated to be a skin infection around her butt and hind legs that the vet refused to provide any helpful advice to soothe her while she was in pain until we could bring her in. The veterinary technicians that we've talked to have been argumentative every time we've had a conversation on any of these issues. In conclusion: if your dog needs their knee replaced, this is your place to go; if you need any other service, you're better off going somewhere that actually cares about your pet. All these people care about is your money.

My dogs have been well cared for and are always very happy when I picked them up and in very good shape. I love that I can board two together in the same kennel, and also there is a very large fenced area for the dogs to go out to to play and burn off some energy and they're not cooped up constantly. I will continue to use the Dog Barn whenever I need to board my dogs and I feel reassured that they are in very good hands!
