They took ghe case kniwing it was a low in ome DV and economic abuse case and quoted a vsry low…read moreamount, but as it conginued they continued to unjustifiably increase their fees knowing this is a low income and economic abuse situation. Offers of payment plans were denied. Amtjough the oartners orally said that any fees would be resolved once ghdy finished the job, they deliberately refused to prep for trial and botched ny case when I could not immediately fork over $6000 in the 1 to 2 weeks prior to trial knowing they took on an indigent client and refused to finish the job knowing that unless they did so I couldn't pay the amounts demanded. They sided with and befriended a d had pfivste meetings and made pfivate deals with my abusive spouse absent my involvement, consent and assusted him in violating a criminal court order prihibiting 3rd party electrinic contact. They then helped him skip out on over $21k in unpaid child and spousal suppprt then wondered why I couldn't pay their bill. They are now sending bills with unexplained expenses that double or triple their fees after having duined my case demibetately and not finished the job promised .. in hopes that if i fo resolve thd case they can take the suppprt or my house. Bill tripled since the case ended and no work was done as they closed my file. Thdy want $12k now whdn thdy didnt finish the job ruined the case in purpose and on top of it they charged me over $6k but then did not evdn mail me an original copy of divirce decree but told me to go get ot mysrkf from the clerk, yet are seeking $12k in legal fees. They took thd case knowing its a low income client but after running up the bill akin to extortionists THEY leave you with half the job done make it hatd to retain other counsel create unexplained bill so thdy can put a lien on your assets if you do manage to get true help, and they dump yoh and say oh go find a pro bono DV attidney. It us unethical to do this and thry know it. They fivure you dont have funds to fight thdm and they know enough people in appellate court. Polticians. Judges. Abd ethics commitee membdrs so as to be held accontsble. They monigor their clients sovial media and if they dont like your politics etc they dump you. They also report stuff to your ex etc to exacerbate your situation hoping this will upset you thdn use it to say you are a bad cluent or complicste your case so fhey can justify chsrhing more unnecessary fees. If I do see any support money they will take it all via this unexplained tripled or doubled bill generated a month after they botched my case on purpose and unceremoniously dumped me. No explanation as to how the fees doubled or tripled since the case was CLOSED and so no additionsl work was done. I am noting that the other client with a similar experience us also a low income woman of color and a dv case. I also love the defensive disclaimer on their site saying they do not reduce costs or accept favors or payments from clients in exchange for good reviews. One wonders why they would have to state that. Its not something law firms have to declare publicly. Anyone with a similsr experience. Go to the ethics committee or the attorney general. The more thdy hear other accounts the more likely to correct the issue. As this is unethical and they know it and know their way around ut. But so do other lswyers who do not kike their professions being sullied too. Especially not at the expense of DV survivors. The bar gives out pro bono vouchers or reduced fee vouchers that no lawyers accept and these here take full advantage of that facf and of people and their kids dssperation by jpining their abusers in economically abusing you. They sat there the whole time sayinv oh we will settle ot at the end and then did the opposite. ​

Rather than acting as my advocate, he seemed more concerned about upsetting the other side and doing very little to actually fight on my behalf. At some point I did ask myself if Ryan was my lawyer or my ex husband's is how badly he didn't advocate for me (in my opinion). I definitely got the short end of the deal including losing a big part of my retirement without a fight. He was really polite and organized and responsive but I needed someone to flex more muscle sort of speak given that the other side was really tough, pushy and making ridiculous requests which lead to a lot of unnecessary back and forth and which lead to me getting substantial billings. Hiring a lawyer should bring peace of mind and confidence that someone is advocating for your best interests. Sadly, that was not my experience. I would not recommend this attorney if you're looking for someone who will truly stand up for you and provide real value for what you pay for.
