The lady spent about an hour on my nails, but she didn't clean my cuticles properly. I asked her to make them look clean, but she barely touched them. She applied two layers of clear base and then two layers of a nude milky shade -- which looked nothing like what I had asked for. The result: bulky gel around the cuticles, uneven application, and one nail that wasn't even shaped round. When I pointed out that one nail looked off, she said, "Your finger isn't even." Her command of English was poor, which made it hard to explain what I wanted. I skipped pedicure cause I expected it will be a disaster. Since I had to rush to another appointment, I left but later called back to complain. I explained that I was unhappy with the result and that this wasn't BIAB. The man I spoke to told me to come back so they could redo it. When I returned, I explained again that the nails were bulky, uneven, and nothing like what I had asked for. They didn't seem to understand me, and he said, "She did a good job. I can remove it if you like, but we don't do BIAB color." I was shocked -- why didn't they tell me that in the morning before taking the booking? In the end, he removed the top layer, told me to wash my hands, gave me back my money, and left me with cracked, unfinished layers still on my nails. They weren't cleaned, smooth, or wearable. Overall: a complete waste of time, unprofessional, misleading, and the worst nail experience I've ever had.

I rarely leave one star reviews but after the awful experience I had here with lash extensions and…read morea gel manicure, plus the shabby treatment I received after my appointment, I'd recommend avoiding this place. I booked lash extensions and a luxury manicure online, received the confirmation. Lashes were first. Billie took her time carefully placing them. It was my first time having them and I was expecting a long appointment of about two hours, which it was. The lashes looked clumpy and synthetic, with more along the inner corner than outer which made my eyes look wonky. She asked if it was ok and I said yes. At that point it was already the afternoon and I didn't want to spend several more hours trying to make it right when I was expecting a better service the first round. The manicure came next. The lighting in the nail area is so poor to be honest I wonder if she could really even see what she was doing. She launched right into filing. Roughly. I asked for rounded edges and my nails were filed down almost completely straight across and looked incredibly stubby. Then she took even more length off when I requested she please round them off some more. I was expecting cuticle care first and a hand massage at some point, and the tools for it were out. I asked if I was getting cuticle care when she began to put the gel polish on and she said yes. Ok. Polish came out lumpy and streaky and there were bubbles that I asked to be fixed as well. The application was not good and the polish was cured for a very short time. After the polish was done she dabbed a little cuticle oil and said we were done. I mentioned the email I got confirming the "luxury manicure" option I was confirmed for and she said because the lashes took so long there wasn't time for it. We went around in circles for a few minutes with me saying of that was the case, something would've been mentioned earlier, since this was not the service I booked. When she looked at me blankly and said I did receive a service, I explained it's akin to booking a full leg wax and only getting your thighs waxed. She refused to even acknowledge there was an error on part of the booking system, even after I repeatedly showed her the confirmation email I got. I walked out feeling like I completely wasted £100 and an afternoon. I followed directions for my lashes, hoping I'd get used to them. Within 2 days nearly all of them shed, despite being careful about no water or oil touching my face. I avoided sleeping on my face. They looked so terrible and patchy 48 hours later I used oil to remove the remaining ones. I don't even want to post a photo because it's too embarrassing. The gel polish mostly peeled off 3 days later. If you care to look throught my other reviews for personal care services it's pretty clear I give the benefit of the doubt nearly always. But the combination of unpleasantness was too much here. I don't know how their waxing is, but don't waste your time or money coming to get your lashes or nails done here.

So I went to this wax bar for a wax. And it was very good! Billie did a great job and it was fast…read moreand (relatively) painless. Salon seemed nice and clean. Thought it was worth the money and would come back again. Also easy to book online!

I've got 99 problems but my hair ain't one of them!…read more Like most ladies, I am slightly obsessed with having good hair. Now what good hair is, will be a subjective point of view, but for me it is manageable and generally shiny and healthy looking as a result of a great cut. I first reviewed Angel Hairdressing about 3 months ago on my first visit. It's a local salon and after standing by it waiting for the bus for 2 years, I decided to give it a go when my budget couldn't stretch to a posh town salon do. So now, it is review No.200 and it had to be a 5 * review. Even though I my last hair cut was 3 months ago - I hadn't actually reached hair crisis point. My style had held perfectly even when growing and it was only as it really started to thicken up again (and growing very quickly) that I decided to cut it back again. It is probably the first hair cut that I've had where I've left a salon, the do has lasted a good few days before I had to wash and dry myself and it has been something I have been able to recreate myself, abet in Claire form, and not hairdresser form. Again - same fab cut. It is a small salon with one sink and 4 chairs. There are two stylists - Lisa who I think is the owner and Kerry who cuts my hair and who I think is fab. Same wet and dry cut as before - still in about 50 minutes even though my shape from last time had still held well, so again, great attention to detail to ensure my hair is perfect. Fab friendly and cheery service and great prices - still £28 for a cut and blow dry and I think it is under £15 for a wash and blow dry. It is not a tea/coffee and a biccy type place but to be honest, I never got the chance to have that any time before as when the cutting starts, that lean forward to get the cuppa could result in hair catastrophe and I'm not stupid enough to risk that. Busy weekend ahead with work and catching up with friends and I'm enjoying my glossy, well cut hair. So Angel Hairdressing, I'm sharing the Yelpy love and making sure my 200th review is a good one :-)

For one, it's absurdly close to my flat, which makes visits and appointments a breeze. Secondly of course would be the lovely staff. I've been served by the same hairdresser both my trips, and she remembered me the second go round, which makes for a pleasant welcome. Size-wise, It's a small joint, but more than enough room for the ladies to perform their miracles, and it feels reasonably homey inside. What seals the deal for me is the prices are totally reasonable--I've seen some places that make my eyes practically roll back in my head around town, and I've never been one to willingly shell out a week's paycheck for my hair. But Angel has fair prices to match the excellent service. My first go featured a simple cut, the second, a full coloring, and I'd give five stars to each venture. This is definitely my go-to salon! Extra perk: I was offered a cup of coffee or tea while waiting for my color to set. Don't mind if I do!
