Dr. MacInnes relieved the anguish mid February when my 18 year old tabby, Eddie Haskell, was approaching end of life due to kidney failure. After placing the phone call, I spent the remaining time holding my boy. By midafternoon, his suffering was over. Dr.Macinnis took care of my 2 cats for about 6years.They were both esa cats and helped me through a dramatic change in my health.I was very thankful that she was able to care for them at my home because I am disabled and don't drive She was always very compassionate and patient when examining them and referred me to another vet when one of them developed cancer.Unfortunately both of the cats needed to be euthanized during the past year and she made the process much less stressful for me because of her compassion and care. I have a great big (huge!) older kitty who adopted me. When that happened, I immediately arranged for a check-up for him with an excellent local vet here. What was not excellent was that I had to do an extensive search for a cat carrier big enough, comfortable enough and safe for him and, despite my sitting in the back with him while my guy drove, poor kitty was so freaked out inspite of my attempts to soothe and reassure him. (Poor baby!) I was thrilled to find we have a mobile vet here, and then I was thrilled to meet her. I think Dr. MacInnes is wonderful. Her nurse was not available that day, so I got to go into the van with my big boy, Keaton, and watch the whole proceedings, ask questions, etc. He was perfectly (struggling not to pun here, so I guess I just did) comfortable the whole time. She was very caring and helpful, and upon some questions I had, explained to me some key differences in how care in certain procedures might be provided and why and what might be best for kitty. I have a quasi-medical background, and what she recommended all made good physiological sense to me. So I trust her. I also need a monthly medication for him. The normal procedure is to purchase the prescription through her and then pick-up the medication. When I shared I have some driving issues, she kindly worked out options with me--very generous as she is a one-woman band. So happy I discovered her. The Keat is too!!! read more

I set up an appointment with Dr. MacInnis a few years ago in preparation of the inevitable with my 18-year-old cat. I wanted to be prepared to put her down at home in her familiar surroundings. We thought our 22yr old kitty was close to the rainbow bridge and were consumed with worry. Dr Macinnes came so quickly and was able to examine her in her comfy bed at home without the stress of the vet office. Her assessment was so reassuring and her care was the most compassionate and thorough our girl has ever known. Sure wish I had know this vet was just for in home euthanasia before I forked over $162 just to be referred to another vet. My dog had blood drawn, an exam as well as meds and a plan for further action. At another location and it was still WAY less than this vet. Please do your homework and ask questions, I did not. So this is the best most versatile and caring vet I've had the pleasure to meet. I met her when we put our last so down. It was a great experience and I could tell she just cared about animals. We just bought a new puppy and Dr. Macinnes came to the house for the first wellness visit and subsequent care. She does clinic work too if you ever need surgery xrays etc but for an everyday vet the is no beating her service or price. read more

I made an appt through the app and took the day off from work to get my 2 dogs looked at. Dr MacInnes canceled because she doesn't like big dogs and left us hanging. Now. Dr. MacInnes is an excellent veterinarian. She took great care of our elderly GSD for over a year. When he was found the have advanced cancer, it was great that someone who knew him could be the person to euthanize him. He passed peacefully surrounded by our family at his home. Dr. MacInnes has been wonderful with our old cat as well. She has provided him with his yearly vaccines, and all this without him having to set foot in a car. Like many cats he hates traveling in cars. Home visits are way less stressful for felines. Currently, Dr. MacInnes is taking care of our new GSD female puppy. We have had a wellness puppy exam, and are continuing on with all vaccines and other care needed. This is a beautiful gift you can give your pet. I highly recommend this service for in-home euthanasia. Dr. MacInnes provided a very peaceful in-home euthanasia for our German Shepard. It was so nice to have it happen here at home where he was comfortable and experienced no anxiety. She gave us plenty of time and space to say goodbye and experience our emotions, but the procedure itself was very efficient. We appreciated that it was not a long, drawn-out process. I really liked that she gave him medicine to relax and sedate him prior to starting the IV for the final medication. I truly believed he experienced no discomfort or fear. It was an incredibly hard experience to go through, but her kindness and compassion and gentleness with us and our dog made it go as smoothly as possible. She was very responsive through email prior to the appointment, answering questions. They were able to take his body and arrange for cremation. It was very good to not have to deal with those details while processing the loss. read more

My husband and I had need of Dr MacInnes' services for our well-aged mixed Ridgeback. He was the last of the dynamic duo of Rusty and Pepper, having lost his sister, Pepper, in early June. Both had been with us for over twelve years -- adopted out of the same foster home at ~2 yrs for Rusty and 10 weeks for Pepper. Our regular vet was able to see Pepper in her office, but we had need of help for Rusty at the very start of the weekend. Our phone call to Dr MacInnes (highly recommended by our vet) was returned early in the morning on an already fully-booked Friday for her. She made room for our home visit without hesitating, extending her work day and delaying the start of her weekend. Dr MacInnes arrived at our house, introduced herself and immediately went to see Rusty on his favorite sheepskin rug in front of the fireplace. She talked to us via Rusty and gained his acceptance and affection very quickly. She conducted a hands-on check to see how he was doing, what his pain level was and determine his current meds -- all to be able to make sure that his relaxation med was appropriate. Once he was fully resting and comfortable, she allowed time for us to get in our farewells and cuddles before his passing. We were comforted and reassured about our decision to offer this final gift to our pets and Dr MacInnes added to Rusty's ease by making his last visit comfortable and pain free.
