I called, left a message, and Carlos called me back within a few hours. He came out to my house quickly and gave me a quote. I decided to hire his business on the spot, I didn't try to find another businesses. He scheduled the job for the following week. I appreciated that it all happened quickly. He sent an email with a description of the paint job to be done along with all his licenses and qualifications in multiple attachments. He was not the one who did the job though, one of his men did it. It took him two days, and Carlos did come out at the end of each day to check over his work. I am overall pleased with the job, the doors and porch look good, but as for the steps, I can see patches on the steps where the old paint had flaked off. I was hoping for a more even cover up. Was that an unreasonable expectation? That's why the 4 stars.

His crew did 3 vaulted ceilings and a full bedroom for my townhouse in one day (9am-3pm). The guys were clean and professional. They also did drywall patch-ups on any "uneven" surfaces, prior to painting. The pricing was reasonable and he even used premium quality paint. My only pet-peeve is that Carlos never picks up the phone when you call, unless he called you immediately beforehand; you have to leave a message. Also, he would tell me he schedules his guys to be there between 8:30-9am on x, but show up at 8am (this kind of matters when I'm meeting someone and not living there) or the second job I asked him to do, he said Thursday or Friday, but then called me on Wednesday and said his guy was waiting at the job. Other than that, would def recommend Carlos!

That's really nit-picky, but in my book, you have to be perfect for 5 stars. I called Blue Door because we had chipping lead paint on two windows in what is to become my son's room. Anna at the office was able to do an estimate over email (I sent pictures) within 24 hours. Anna was knowledgeable, polite and efficient. Then, they were able to schedule the work for the next business day. In order to facilitate quick turn around, I went to their office in N. Arlington, which is conveniently located, to sign the paperwork. The morning of the work a lady came with the painter to translate instructions and help him get set up. He fixed our busted window, removed the chipping paint and painted all the rest of our trim with three coats. He did all the work using the EPA lead paint certification guidelines (he had to seal everything up and clean up really well.) The work was done well and the windows look better than I even expected. It was totally worth the money not to have to deal with our lead paint issue myself. Anna called afterwards to make sure everything was done to my liking. This was a small job and I plan to use Blue Door again. I'll re-post afterwards.

I was worried that we'd have to replace both but Nery assured us that with some repair and restoring work, they both look brand new and will last us for many more years, and he was right!
