I hired FoxFix to repair some seams in the drywall in our condo. I liked Yevhenii (and his wife)…read morevery much when he came out and I felt like they'd do a great job. Indeed, they worked diligently and cleaned up each time they visited. The first round of work, both of them came; the second and third times, just Onya came to and she was super friendly and worked quietly while I worked in the office. I didn't paint the repairs immediately because of a lack of time, but once I did, I was disappointed with how the work turned out. I contacted Yevhenii again and sent him pictures. Communication was great and he came out to look and offered to either refund the money paid and for someone else to do the work or he (and his wife) would try again. I allowed them to come back and Onya worked for hours to redo most of the work. Again, carefully, quietly, and working with my schedule. Yevhenii came to check on things and also wanted to do some of the painting to see how the repairs looked. One area in one of the bathrooms looks pretty good but the kitchen and the other bathroom looks terrible, as evidenced by the pictures. I recontacted Yevhenii and he offered a $200 refund which I accepted. There was the original price of the job and, in consideration of the friendliness that the couple offered and the six visits they made, I felt was worth a $100 tip. In the end, I had drywall dust to clean up throughout the condo on multiple days and the results look amateurish. I'm still not sure why this is so hard to do and do reasonably well. I'm not looking for taj mahal-lile work but the pictures, I think, speak for themselves. I'm sure Yevhenii does great work, as evidenced by other positive reviews and pictures, but this project was a fail.

We had a half wall added to a loft area at the top of the stairs. Yevhenii did excellent work…read more We even threw him a challenge to create some custom moulding on the cap to match the other two half walls in the same hallway, and you can't tell the difference. Jobs like this are harder than one would think mostly because matching drywall seams is really hard. That's why I didn't do this myself. It takes patience and attention to detail. Where the wall had a straight transition to the existing wall, Yevhenii matched the seam patch perfectly, and you can't tell it wasn't originally part of the house. Yevhenii even showed me what to look for if I found that the drywall patches needed more work (flashlight at an oblique angle). He knew that this kind of thing takes effort, and to get a Level 5 drywall finish is asking A LOT (I didn't expect it either because I knew this too.) I like painting, so I asked Yevhenii to leave that part to me. Often, when you paint, you can see the flaws in a project. Even though the top cap of the wall was two pieces glued up and the wall had to make that existing wall transition, the lines were smooth and clean, and you couldn't tell. His workmanship is measured and precise, he cleans up each day, and he's a nice person to talk to as well. You could do a lot worse than to hire Fox-Fix. Yevhenii is the kind of local guy you want to have in your pocket for whatever you need.

Was told that the job would take 3-5 days. I got the floor on 2/17. Monte sent a young man to lay…read morethe subfloor on 2/22 and was going to start the hardwoods the next day but we reminded him that the floors had only been in the house for 6 days not his recommended 7 days. He said he forgot and said he would come the following Tuesday. At 12noon that following Tuesday (3/1) he called and said his father-in-law was terminally ill and he had to leave, which was certainly not a problem. However, he left my basement door open and lights on when he left. I didn't hear from him and called Friday (3/4), he said he would be there the following Tuesday and would have the floors done by Friday 3/12. On Tuesday (3/8) no one showed up, I called he said he would come Saturday. I told him I was moving in that day and the floors absolutely needed to be done Friday like he promised. He said he would be there the next day. Wednesday at 11am no one had yet arrived. I called, he said he would come that night. So Wed and Thursday Monte and 3 young men worked from 6pm until midnight, sawing, hammering, nailing which of course caused my neighbors to complain. I stopped to check on things Friday, all windows were unlocked, my bathroom window was open, my porch door was hanging wide open, my entire house was covered from ceiling to floor with sawdust and no one was there. There was stain all over my freshly painted trim molding and splattered on the walls. There are large chunks of paint taken out of my freshly painted walls, there is glue all over the floors. I called him and he said he was coming to finish the job. I showed him the stain and paint issues and he said if I had more paint he would fix it. At that point I had absolutely no faith that he would not further destroy my home. He did clean SOME of the stain off the molding but not all of it and it will still need to be repainted and 3 of my rooms still need completely repainted not to mention the ruined drywall. He also did not repair the steps like we discussed and he even admitted that he had forgotten about that. The kick molding under the kitchen cabinets also was not done. He said he would come back and finish the floors in 3 weeks, I don't have that kind of time and frankly am not willing to allow him or any of his employees back in my home. When I attempted to show him the pictures of all the damage he began shouting about how this was a construction zone and I should have expected this damage...really?? So disrespectful and condescending. I read all the great reviews for Monte and was excited to have a professional job done in my home but it has been nothing but a nightmare from day one. I hope that my situation is an isolated event but please be cautious if you choose M&S
