As a former employee, I would not recommend this place of employment based on my experience working there. The biggest issues I experienced were the disrespectful communication, the messy and dirty work environment, inconsistent treatment of employees, and what felt like a very one-sided workplace culture.
While I was an employee there, I was frequently expected to fix or finish work that other employees had done incorrectly. There were also times when I would point out something that I believed needed to be fixed before a vehicle left, only to be told to send it anyway and that it would be fine. I take pride in my work and did not feel comfortable putting my name behind something I believed was not done correctly or safely.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that I was repeatedly told I was doing an amazing job, that I was really good at what I did, and that I got my work done quickly. I had four alignments in a row where no adjustments were needed after I performed them, and I was praised for the quality of my work. During the time I was employed there, I never had a vehicle return because of the same issue I had worked on. I always did my best to make sure every customer's vehicle was safe and that my work was done correctly.
I will admit that I was on my phone at times. I am not going to pretend I was perfect. However, I was not the only employee who used their phone, and I personally witnessed other employees using their phones and playing around at work, including throwing rags at each other. When I was told there was a problem with my phone use, I made an effort to leave my phone on the table. Sometimes I was only checking a picture of my kids, who I don't get to see often, or checking on my wife. I still completed my work quickly and took my responsibilities seriously.
I was also uncomfortable with the way some employees would speak about me in Spanish when they thought I could not understand them. I understood more than they apparently realized, and hearing employees talk about me that way was extremely disrespectful. The judgment, attitude, tone, and way certain things were said made being an employee there very uncomfortable at times.
I was repeatedly told that I was doing great and that I was amazing at my job, only to then be fired after missing work due to personal and mental health circumstances. I also texted my manager explaining that I needed to leave because of a family emergency. The way I was treated afterward was extremely disappointing considering the positive feedback I had consistently received about my work.
I stand behind the quality of the work I did while I was an employee there. I know I wasn't perfect, but I worked hard, got vehicles done efficiently, and cared about doing the job correctly. I also believe employees should be able to speak up when they see something that needs to be corrected without being treated poorly for doing so.
This review is based on my personal experience as a former employee. Every workplace has problems and every employee has things they could improve on, including me. But employees deserve to be treated with respect, held to consistent standards, and allowed to take pride in doing quality work.
