I had some type of plastic/fabric bed sheet wrapped around my drive shaft - to the point where I, my brother-in-law, and my tow truck driver couldn't get it off - and west O got it done the next morning. I've owned a Cadillac for less than 2 months and don't trust any mechanic in omaha, so I was expecting this to be an arm and a leg. They charged me about a half hour service/labor fee - so I was thrilled that it didn't even hit triple digits ($100+). These guys were very thorough with the inspection on her vehicle. I couldn't tell how many pages of things that were wrong with this car. I have never been to this place before but will be going back for sure. I had an issue with my car that could have been nothing or something really wrong. i came in for an oil change on my 2015 KIA and investigation of a senor issue more than likely a glitch since it stopped after i restarted my car and it hasnt happened again but after the oil change they told me i needed a tune up which cost $723 (which included spark plug replacement and air induction service) WHICH IS WAY OVER PRICED. Was told they have to do a $100 diagnostic test to figure out the the sensor issue so that's already $823 before any actual repairs of the problem i came in for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Told them ill just get my spark plugs replaced since i haven't had a problem with the sensor in a week but could bring my car back if it happens again, for 10 minutes the guy was trying to tell me he doesnt recommend that and i told him i understood and it would be my fault if it got worse but continued to try to talk me into it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Finally after the 15th i told him i just wanted the spark plugs replaced he quoted me at $723 for a tune up i told him i didn't ask for a tune up, i dont want the air induction service just the spark plugs! and he said "okay good to go" but didnt give me an updated quote i asked for the quote and he told me for MY 2015 KIA it would be $410 for spark plugs to be replaced i told him that very expensive for spark plugs since its an hour long job and spark plugs are only $15 for my car so i asked for a breakdown of the price. he said its $270 FOR LABOR (which is extremely overpriced even the dealership doesn't charge that much) and $35 each for the plugs MIND YOU THEY ARE RIGHT NEXTDOOR TO AN AUTO ZONE WHICH SELLS MY SPARKPLUGS FOR $15 I KNEW I WAS GETTING RIPPED OFF i told him no thanks i will take my business elsewhere. Even if my sensor goes bad again i will take my car somewhere else that wont upcharge everything. i do not recommend this place it will save you a lot of money just to buy the parts yourself and take it to a trustworthy mechanic that will charge 100-120 for labor or just do it yourself if you can. read more

I am a female who lacks car knowledge so they could have easily taken advantage of me. The second time I went, they were able to get my car in right away and even paid for my Uber to work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]These people put me in a terrible position and they didn't even care about making it right.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On Aug 21, 2024 I took my Yukon to West Omaha Auto Service to get my oil changed early because I was planning to leave that Friday morning on a week-long trip, driving 1314 miles each way pulling my travel trailer. I had taken that same trip using the same exact route just 3 months earlier with the same truck and same trailer. Since it was such a long trip I took their advice to go ahead and do all the vehicle flushes, a tune up and they said I needed a new radiator because the existing one had a leaking oil cooler. The price tag when they were done was near $3400. When I picked it up I noticed within 2 blocks that the normal operating temp was a little higher than it ran before the repair which concerned me a little so I immediately turned around and went back to the shop to ask why this was different. When I got back to the shop I told Nick that I was concerned because the temp needle had risen a bit over 210 degrees and I don't even have my trailer attached to the truck yet. I asked Nick if I was going to have issues driving so many miles? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nick assured me that this was below normal operating temp and I should be fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I left early the next morning and multiple times during my trip there, I had to pull over and wait while the engine cooled down because my temperature gauges for the engine and the transmission were creeping up to 240 degrees. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Basically trip was a disaster and I had to cut it short to get back to work in time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I returned to Omaha they said they would have someone test drive it to see what it was doing. After he came back I was told it was operating as it should. I told Nick that means he didn't get the rpm's up enough then. Nick said ok let's go then, I'll go and you show me. Once he got in the passenger seat of my truck and shut the door he raised his voice, used profanity and called me a liar over and over, multiple times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was shocked and could not believe the way he was talking to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hit record on my phone because I knew no one would believe me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once we got on the road he insulted my driving and multiple times said that this truck is not capable of pulling this trailer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did a lot of research before I bought the travel trailer new to verify that my GMC Yukon could safely pull that size trailer. The trailer dealership and everything I read about towing capacity of my truck, told me that my truck was capable. Why would I buy a travel trailer when I knew my truck engine could be damaged? Mind you, during all this time, my temp gauge is reading higher than I am used to seeing it read with or without my trailer attached. I kept telling him that 3 months ago I pulled the same trailer the same route the same distance and my temp gauge did not reach this level. I did not understand why this radiator was behaving in my truck differently than the one they took out but I knew it was not the same. This radiator was not cooling my engine and transmission the way the other one did. That was a fact. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I said that to Nick he told me that he never witnessed how my old radiator performed, he had only just met me, how does he know that what I am telling him is correct?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't know why he would think I had anything to gain by lying about that but he continually called me a liar. He did have something hooked up to my truck while we were driving probably to monitor the temperature. [[HIGHLIGHT]]By the end of the test drive his tune changed and was telling me that he was getting me a loaner car and that they were going to put a factory radiator in to see if that fixes the problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did that and my truck runs fine now, just as it did with my old radiator they took out before my trip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't know if I can take any more time off of work to go back this year to try to finish up the things I did not get done while there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I spent money on hotel room, a diagnostic check while in sc. I was traveling through and called around to find the best price to do a tire rotation. I called a few places around and all were about 40$+. When I called West Omaha Auto Service, they gave a decent price so I made an appointment with them. Not only were they super polite but they understood they were busy but offered snacks and drinks while I waited. I assumed that they might have kept me waiting for hours but no, I was out in about 35 minutes. EVEN in their busy times, they do their best and supply excellent customer service. read more

This place is shady. Won't quote a price over the phone but offers "free" towing to the shop. Estimate to replace my alternator came in at $840 which is more than double any other shop...including a dealer. When you don't have service performed, they charge you $80 for a two mile tow. I brought my car in for an oil change. After waiting for over three hours (for an oil change!) it was finally ready. Took it home and a few days later noticed it was leaking oil. Made an appointment and took it back. Apparently the drain plug was not put on correctly. Took it home and a few days later notice its still leaking. Made another appointment and took it in. They tried to fix it and said they needed to order new drain plugs. Taking it in for a fourth time! I asked for a loaner car for 1.5 hours to make a doctors appointment. No can do they said!! My mother in law turned me on to them. At first I just needed an oil change, then we blew a head gasket. Next vehicle we got - the serpentine belt split in half. Unfortunately I have really bad luck on cars. Fortunately the guys at West Omaha Auto know how to fix things up for me. Most recently, out front passenger strut was stripped. We brought in our 04 Toyota Sienna to get that replaced, as well as an oil change. Anthony let us know that it could be worked on Wednesday, so we dropped if off in the morning. Thursday afternoon rolls around, and they still haven't gotten to it - another vehicle they were working on ended up needing more work done than they initially thought - thats not an issue. I work in the service industry - first come, first serve. Anthony reassured us that he could get it done by 12N the next day. On my way to go pick up our mini-van, I get a call from my SO - I need to call them regarding the car. Worst fear was that it could not be repaired. Instead, I was met with "We still haven't gotten around to the repairs. This Has NEVER Happened, and I'm really sorry, but I lost you key. Do you have a spare?" I do not have a spare. The vehicle only came with one key. Anthony told me he was going to take care of it - whether he left a the key in his pants at home, or he was going to have a new key installed for no additional cost - My car could be picked up after close *tonight* Key was found, it had fallen into one of their loaner vehicles. Repairs have been made, and as soon as I'm off of work at 11PM, I'm getting my car back. Even with all of this, the way they do repairs, the way they negotiate parts prices for you - I will still ALWAYS give them a 5 Star review. They are family, and even if you've only known them for 20 minutes, they make you feel accepted and welcomed. read more

I used Yelp to find West Omaha Auto Service when the engine blew on my college daughter's F150. Tom and Anthony were very helpful and took good care of both truck and daughter. They helped us figure out if it was worth fixing and went out of their way to find parts to make it happen. the loaner car was a clean nice Civic which I drove 120 miles home and kept for 6 days. They called throughout the process and when we picked up the truck were very helpful with instructions for break in and service needs. Daughter even found chocolate in the cup holder. Nice touch. Anthony, and the Ross Family take great care of you up front while their world class repair men take great care of your car. They offer a loaner car if needed and Anthony is great about offering pick up and drop off service as well. The environment is beyond clean and amazingly comfortable. Leather furniture! complimentary beverages! Michelle Ross is always smiling and treating you like one her kids, no matter how old you are. Dave Ross is the wise and all knowing "dad" who listens to the crazy thing you did to your car without judging, then he gets it fixed and teaches you how to not mess it up again. The guys in the back have a great sense of humor and seem to love their jobs, walking into this place is seriously like walking into an alternate Mr. Rogers like universe. It is almost too good to be true, but it is true. Did I mention the pricing is the best you will find in town? I live in Arizona and my son is going to College in Crete. He took his car into an Omaha Walmart to get a simple oil change before his drive back to Az. They stripped his oil pan bolt then told him to get the car towed somewhere else to get fixed. This is why I hate Walmart. My son had to leave the car in Omaha in the Walmart parking lot and get a ride back to school and finish his finals. I had no idea who to call. I was worried I was gonna find some shady mechanic to rob me because I'm states away and limited options. West Omaha was the first place I called. I spoke with Anthony, told him about the situation and he quickly made me feel comfortable. I was working with a very limited budget and this repair could have been pretty expensive. He handled the tow and in a very short time, emailed me an estimate with an actual picture included. He assured me that he would do everything that he could to be as cost effective as possible. He knew there was a time issue and had the car done that day. I got a call a few hours later letting me know the car was available and that he did exactly what was on the estimate, not a penny more. My son came the next morning to get the car and said that everyone there was super nice to him and he was able to get in and out with no issues. I can't tell you how grateful I am to Anthony and everyone there. They took a crappy situation and made it so much more easier to deal with. Hopefully my sons car won't have any other issues any time soon but if it does we will be going there again. I cant say enough good things about West Omaha Auto!! All my interactions with them have been awesome but my most recent tops them all. I had a problem with a door that was a major safety issue for my grandchildren riding in my car. I called the dealership where I bought my car and they said it would be 3 weeks before they could look at it. I call the guys at West Omaha Auto and was in the next day. They looked at it and said it would take a few days to order an expensive part and they could not guarantee it would fix it. I don't write many reviews because I don't believe anyone really cares what I thought about a ham sandwich or a burger at a particular restaurant, but I had such a great experience at West Omaha Auto that I had to comment. When it comes to getting your car fixed, nobody in their right mind is thrilled about getting a repair. What most people want is a place you can trust where you're not going to have to take out a 2nd mortgage to pay for the repair. Anthony is a rockstar, explains everything you need and their price for me was fair. I say fair because they are a business, not a charity! Could somewhere else possibly charge me less? Of course, but somewhere else could have charged me more too! I just want to be treated fairly, have the repair work and I want this place to stay in business for the next time I might need them. In the hour I say there I overheard Anthony walk customers through their repairs, telling them what they needed and what they didn't need and what to watch for in the future. The rave reviews about their waiting area are all true, but even the garage area is clean and organized and that is a sign of a good shop. Naturally I'm not looking to be a regular customer there, but I'm glad I found them and won't hesitate to recommend them to others and I'll definitely be back if I need them again. Best repair shop ever! I have been going to them since I was 16 with my cars so almost 12 years. I can always call and rely on them to get it done and done right at a reasonable cost. They have loaner vehicles which is awesome and time saving and they are always clean and nice to ride. I know my parents have been coming to see Dave and Anthony at West Omaha Auto Service. The waiting area is nice and relaxing and they have free wifi and cable. So its not a hassle to wait if need be. Super friendly staff and certified technicians. Recently I have been dealing mostly with Anthony who is friendly, courteous and willing to help no matter how small or big the issue is.
