2018-07-12. Macomb Corners Park. Macomb, MI. Playground.

2018-07-12. Macomb 4 corners park is a well maintained facility and part of the Macomb Parks and Recreation department. With six 300ft baseball diamonds complete with bleachers and lighting, eight soccer fields, a full size hockey rink, two beach volleyball courts, a hiking trail, picnic pavilions, a kids playground, and even a concession stand. While the playscape is seasonal, there are events from Memorial day through mid/late fall. The park is open daily from 8am to dusk and there is plenty of free parking in adjacent lots. The only things missing is a swimming pool and basketball courts, but they do have these facilities nearby in the Recreation Center down the street next to City Hall. 4 Corners Park, also has several special events going on throughout the summer. I just happened to take me kids here for the playground and it happened to be one of their Music in the Park nights (July 12, 19, 26) where there is live music (featuring the Prolifics tonight), pizza (Jets), ice cream, and snacks for sale ($1 - $2), as well as kids activities and bounce houses (free). There are also some tents from some of the sponsors of the events so be sure to check them out and thank them for supporting the event if nothing else (today there was an Orthodontist and a Home Builder). Other events hosted by the park include the Summer Concert Series & Movie Under The Stars, just to name a couple more. To get all the details visit the Township's official Parks and Recreation site: https://www.gomtpr.org/parks/macomb-corners-park/ But as I said at the beginning of this, the place is well maintained and there's plenty to do. There is ample parking and best of all it's free. I'm definitely a fan, 4 stars. If you would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Have fun and play safe!

In an area that features many great playgrounds and parks to take your family to, Innovation Hills has always stood out. There is a lack of options for younger children though (no infant swings?). The three stars? One of the new features of this park is the addition of Park Mobile being introduced for the main parking lot. Signs everywhere reminding you that you better have paid your $1.50 an hour! There is of course a free dirt lot across the busy road for your convenience. Or a parking 'annual pass' you can purchase from the Rochester Hills website. Our society struggles with the concept of 'the third place'. Parks and playgrounds are a haven for families and a community builder outside of work and home. What in the world is the motivation behind suddenly charging for parking? 1 - The City of Rochester Hills wants to prioritize park access for its citizens? Charging for parking doesn't keep out non-residents and in fact just causes Rochester Hills citizens to pay more for something they are already paying for. 2 - The park is often extremely crowded so charging for parking may reduce visitor count? If this was the motivation I am confident this strategy is not working. 3 - We want to encourage more families to park in the dirt lot across the street and attempt to cross a highway? I have more faith in humanity than that. Oh, I think I got it! To quote Tim Robinson's sketch 'The Driving Crooner' - "I gotta figure out how to make money on this thing..it's simply TOO GOOD!"

This park has everything--playgrounds, walking trails, a serene area with ducks, and even bathrooms. I'd recommend it to any family looking for a fun day out. Definitely a great spot for outdoor fun!

There are plenty of picnic tables and grills. The bathroom is far from luxurious, I would stay away unless you really need it. Utica does a good job maintaining the park and keeping it clean and safe. Occasionally you will see police presence driving through or hanging out to keep everyone safe. They installed the blue light poles a few years back. Overall it is a great place to go for a run or walk or let the kids burn energy.

2019-09-18. Grant Park. Utica, MI…read more Nestled amid a residential area in Utica is Grant Park. While not the newest or fanciest of parks, its compact and bountiful. Just east of Van Dyke, Grant Park's footprint is bounded by Nancy Ave to the north, Hanh Ave to the south, Deshon St. to the west, and Grant Park to the east. There are two small parking lots, one off Nancy, and one off Hanh. Every time I bring my kids here there are plenty of people enjoying the public space, yet I never have a problem finding a parking spot. This tells me that many are locals, which is great to see that the city's money is well used. The park is not huge, but they make excellent use of their real estate. Amenities include 2 full size basketball courts, 3 tennis courts, two beach volleyball courts, and two playgrounds; one for the big kids, and one for the kiddies. There are also two large pavilions, one by each parking lot, and the green scape is dotted with mature trees, providing green canopies for those who prefer the shade. A walking path winds through the park, and there are a couple of swing benches by the larger playground. There is even a book house where you're welcome to take a book or leave one. The centerpiece of the playground is the large tubular slide. A rare three storey tube slide, which is the primary reason why we come; that and the rare playground roundabout. There is also a Wendy's within walking distance on Van Dyke for those hot days or when you're craving a frosty. All in all, don't let this mature park fool you. It packs plenty for all ages in a small footprint and would serve any community well. Whether you're looking to get active; improve your skills at Basketball, Volleyball, or Tennis; or simply looking for a relaxing day at the park, Grant Pack can accommodate. I'm definitely a fan, 4 stars. If you would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... See you on the swings!

Review #501 October…read more31, 2024 Welcome To The Neighborhood With Macomb's Newest Outdoor Addition called- Pitchford Park ! I finally stopped in this park nearby My home to walk around the sidewalk paths, take photos to help others see so they can visit and enjoy it too. It is located on 49699 Romeo Plank. a 1/4 mile North of 22 Mile Rd. The park was created on 1.4 acres of donated land from a previous resident. It has a unique fenced in area with a membership key entrance called Pitchford Dog Park. The history story of Pitchford Park was named after a family of long time and now deceased residents that generously donated the land in 2021 to use to create a park using their last name of Joe Kay and Pamela Pitchford. Their parents were Bill and Joyce along with brother Todd who loved nature and the community of Macomb Township. Since I drive a few times a week on Romeo Plank Road, it was interesting to watch the reconstruction of the land to create now a community park. There are plenty of parking spots throughout the different areas of activities too. My photos attached show the entrance, trees, shrubs, flowers, tennis and pickleball courts, playscape areas, picnic tables and restrooms too. The newest attraction is a Dog Park for residents and non-residents with a fee and key to enter to use the areas for dogs to run and play with each other or their owners. Coming soon will be a Butterfly Exhibit in the Spring of 2025. For more information and registration to the Pitchford Park call: (586) 992-2900 and ask for director Sal DiCaro x 2800. Dog Park Fee: Residents $40.00 Non-Residents $56.00 Seniors $25.00 Non-Resident Seniors $35.00 Your Dog must have a license first to apply. Rules of the Dog Park are on the sign posted at entrance, and my photo is attached with the information. Hours of the park are Sunday through Saturday Dusk to Dawn. I'm looking forward again to cruise up here to enjoy my walks for exercise plus watch for the areas of nature to enjoy. Sincerely, Karen N. :-) Resident of Macomb Township
