The employees at the front desk were rude, unhelpful, and unfriendly. Today, I waited for around 15 minutes while one employee kept looking at her computer and another was on the phone. Even when I finally asked for assistance, the response and attitude were not welcoming or professional. As a city community center that serves families and residents, I believe staff should be respectful, cooperative, and willing to help people with basic questions. Instead, I left feeling upset and disappointed by how we were treated. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving customer service for families visiting the center.

My son met the 42-inch height requirement and has safely enjoyed similar attractions before, yet we were still made to feel uncomfortable and singled out throughout our visit. What upset me the most was watching my son cry after getting hurt, and instead of showing concern or compassion, staff looked at him, walked away, and laughed with another coworker. As a parent, that was heartbreaking and completely unacceptable to witness. No child should ever be treated with such disregard, especially when they are visibly upset and crying. Throughout the visit, my children both older and younger were watched excessively, which made us feel targeted instead of welcomed. As a Black family, the treatment we experienced raised serious concerns about bias and discrimination. I fully understand the importance of safety rules, but rules should be enforced respectfully and equally for everyone. Families come to these facilities to feel safe and enjoy time together, not to feel humiliated, ignored, or judged. I will be contacting the district and administration for both facilities to formally report these experiences and seek accountability. I hope steps are taken to ensure no other family or child is made to feel this way again.

We decided to stop in because we heard they have tonies box to rent out. The second floor on the right side is a massive children's area. They have tables and chairs. They have a lot of little toy areas that they can play with. They have an imaginary play puppet area too. When you check out, they have a self checkout where you can scann the card and then the items. They have bags to check out too for carrying the books in. You can print a receipt which will tell you when items are due back. I also took a photo just in case. The desks have people working there that are super helpful. They answered so many questions. My husband went to the other side up top and looked at some books while the kids were playing. They also have activities and storytime classes that you can attend. These are all community teams sponsored by the RR center. There are also numerous indoor activities in the full-size gym all summer long - open basketball, indoor volleyball, and the like (it's as if kids get to experience P.E. class all over again!) Macomb Community College also presents a large number of short classes during summer months at RR, which is most interesting to me. Contact MCC for a catalog of classes offered - anything from one-evening classes on basket weaving, motorcycle riding, to "how to publish a novel." They have a lot of really cool topics that are affordable for anyone looking to get into a new hobby, or touch up on old habits.

I came up there after communicating through email asking them if they had any essentials items for people who were homeless. They said they only can give a hygiene kit. I'm in serious need so I'll take whatever I can get. I told the woman I'd try to be up there on Monday but I didn't end up coming since I don't have a car so I was taking a Lyft through my insurance so the rides have to be approved beforehand. I emailed the horrible fat bitch that I wouldn't make it and explained my situation and told her I'd try to be up there the next day she responded just come between 9 am through 11. So I didn't make it Tuesday my ride got approved for Friday so I came at 9:30 am. I let the woman at the door know I was just picking up a hygiene kit she acted like it was a big deal and told me to take a seat while she goes and speaks with Tish. So I was sitting there not really understanding why they didn't just give me the kit and were acting like it was something I just made up. They both came out and the fat woman walks up to me I say hi are you Tish I apologize for not coming as soon as possible I don't have a car and I don't live in this area so it was really difficult for me to get up here. You'd think someone who works with the homeless would be able to understand that but nope. She came straight bitch mode and started saying she was busy and I should've came on Tuesday cause she's busy now. I say oh if you guys aren't able to give me the hygiene kit (A LITERAL LITTLE BAG OF SOAP) it's okay I'm sorry I thought you were saying I needed to come Monday through Friday (she said that in her first email and I said I'd try to do Monday) from 9 am to 11 am. She got so upset about this for no reason and she said I NEVER SAID DAT! LOOK AT DA EMAILS. So I pulled out my phone and read the emails and said it seems like we're just having a misunderstanding. I was so shocked about her trying to go back and forth I didn't want to argue with this woman since the time she was trying to waste arguing they could've just handed me the hygiene kit bag. I just got away from DV so confrontation is just too much for me so I just said it's okay nevermind I'm sorry I inconvenienced you. I called my Lyft and I could here them laughing about the situation so I just went outside in 36 degrees with rain and sat and waited for my Lyft. I can't wait to meet a charity with actual empathy and who want to actually help people. She was acting like it was such a big deal even though it was just some soap it could've been a here you go have a great day and that's it but instead the bitch wanted to basically hold the hygiene kit hostage until I kissed her fat feet and tell her she's so right and I'm just so wrong coming up there for help. I've literally only had bad experiences with the salvation army from getting yelled at just for calling to ask if there were any beds open to getting yelled at for coming to pick up a simple hygiene kit. I'm assuming the people they claim to help have to just suffer through staff abuse since they have no other options. This organization is definitely giving we rape and abuse the people were supposed to help and there's nothing you can do about it since you need help from us. A lot of shelters force the women there to do sexual things and the horrid way the staff treats the unprivileged I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing it as well. Using homeless people as your whipping boy since you know society has already casted them aside is sooo fucked up. I hope these people get exposed for the abusive frauds they are and I pray that the people who unfortunately have to turn to these people for help don't have to experience that much abuse. I hate when people who work for charities get off on abusing their power and spit on the people they're supposed to help. Shame on all of you for even letting these kinds of people work for you and tarnish your supposed good name. If you're looking for help go anywhere else if you can these people take joy in turning away the people who need help the most away.
