Ordering from their website http://expert.ie was pretty straight forward. The money was taken off…read moremy card and an invoice was sent immediately. Delivery of the appliance was promised between three and five days, so I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from the merchant on day two, telling me that delivery would take place the following day between 8:00am - 01:00pm. Unfortunately, the day of delivery was wasted with waiting until late afternoon. Upon checking the status of the order on expert's website I was informed that the appliance has been dispatched. Nevertheless, I thought it would be better to get in touch with their customers services, who informed me that there was no knowledge of the phone call, which I did receive the previous day. However, unknown to them this phone call was recorded, so lying to me was just a daft thing to do. The appliance was delivered a day later but I feel exasperated that these merchants have nothing better to do but to mess up with their schedules and blatantly lie to their customers. No wonder I regret to have spent €1200 with this company.

Paid the cost to get it repaired. 2 days later, my phone fell from the couch from a hight of no more than 2 feet on to wooden floor and the screen cracked again. Having had iphones since they have been released I know the durability of the screens. This should not have happened. I then reenacted the exact fall of the phone with another iphone 5, knowing sure that the screen wouldn't crack and it didn't. Within an hour my phone was completely unusable, I couldn't open or close it. This would never happen with an original iphone screen. I arrived on monday morning to 511 tech solutions, and the person who deals with phone damage was not present. I then arrived back the following morning at 9.30am and the shop was closed. The shop was then finally opened 30 minutes late. When I explained what had happened with my phone, I was told I was going to have to pay 60 euro to fix the screen. I will never use tech solutions in future, the standard of their products are completely below par and their customer service is atrocious.

AVOID AVOID AVOID…read more Do not trust this place with your phone repairs. I brought my iPhone 16 Pro in for a screen replacement, which cost €250. A few weeks later, the screen shattered from a fall of less than a meter - onto a wooden floor - with a protective case on. I returned and was charged another €200 for a second replacement. This time, they added a screen protector - something they should have done in the first place. Not long after, a blue inky patch appeared on the top left of the screen and gradually spread, making the phone completely unusable. Crucially, the phone had not been dropped, hit, or damaged in any way after the second repair. When I went back, they made me wait over an hour while the phone was supposedly being "assessed" (it just sat untouched on a desk). Eventually, I was told I'd need another new screen--and that it wasn't their fault after spending EU550 with them on two screens. Ended up getting it fixed properly by another provider for €150. Bottom line: Terrible customer service, poor-quality parts, and you'll find better prices and reliability elsewhere. Avoid ExpressTech at all costs.

What makes this place shine, however, is the helpful, earnest, and skilled staff. They've helped me sort out issues with international adapter/converters for my laptop, accessories for my new printer, a USB wifi for my MAC. Sometime soon, I'll address a damaged laptop (too cheap to repair) for which I'll ask SCR to transfer files. With every inquiry, they are helpful, direct, and efficient. I can't say enough for the service. It's also very nice that, because the staff is small, they tend to remember who I am and what the issues are with my poor, overworked & mishandled equipment.

Both times there was a problem with the laptop not charging - I won't bore you with the details, but the repair guy in there, Dean, called me both times to explain the issue and how it was going to be fixed before he did it. Both times I had the machine back in my hands by the next day. They're pretty nice people in here and it's a pleasure to deal with them. Top Tip: Watch out for the clampers outside! Both times I've visited, I've noticed people that have fallen victim to them!

Unfortunately, a week later I was sent back to the US due to the pandemic but was assured by the owner (Harry) that it could take some time but would eventually be sent back to me with the repairs made. After some spotty correspondence back and forth, that lead me to believe I would be receiving the laptop soon, I heard nothing from him. Five months have gone by and my laptop has not been sent, and I haven't received any reply to my numerous emails asking when it would be sent. For all intensive purposes my laptop was stolen. I feel very taken advantage of, them knowing that I was a visiting student who would be unable to come retrieve the laptop in person because of the extenuating circumstances. I can't help but wonder if this wouldn't have happened if I weren't a visiting student/tourist. In essence, their initial service was ok, but in the end they outright took/stole my laptop, and barely responded to my messages before entirely ignoring them. I'd strongly caution anyone not to go here, but especially visiting tourists or students studying abroad.
