So did not get much of my shopping done. Men's shoe selection was lacking. Onto the Clinique counter. The sales lady was trying to talk a woman into a purchase, which took a while and ultimately failed. She was not as zealous talking to me. I asked about the difference between two products, and she basically said they are different. Since she was not very helpful. I decided to shorten my order. I asked for two large containers of products I wanted. All of a sudden she came to life when she realized I was actually buying something. Hello! why else am I here?! I'm addicted to the make up counters! Macy's has been my go to make up stop for years! It's simple baby! Wait for the gift with purchase time and it makes up for the price most of the time. Clinique face wash rocks, I got my boys to use it. I love my Lancôme ladies I take my dog Princess in to see them. I use their foundation and other make up. I can't leave out the Mac counter! They rule! They are pretty fun as well, and they have rockin colors in lip shades or shadows. I also like that you can recycle 6 empty tubes of Mac for a tube of lipstick. I still need to hit up the Chanel counter. As far as the clothes it's hit or miss, I can some times find clothes here but I can say there is usually always a sales rack some where in the store which is cool so I do like that. This is by far the nicest department store in Eugene. Of course this is one of the only department stores in Eugene. Selection is nice, the wife loves the makeup and perfume sections. Clothes are ok but very over priced. Home goods on the second floor is very nice, and they also have real non pressboard furniture. I don't really care that they have great mercantile. Most of their employees are a bunch of stick-up-their-ass snobs. The last two times I shopped there, the first was looking for a cute outfit, very similar to one that a friend had given me as a gift. I liked it so much, I wanted another one in a different style. The employee there was so put out when I asked her is they might have the one I wanted in a smaller size. Wow, how rude of me expecting her to check in the back! The second... And the last time I'll go there, my daughter had given me a couple of thermal shirts that I absolutely loved but they were a size too small. I tried to make an exchange. The (young man) checked for me - grudgingly - and informed me that they were available in my size at the Salem store (only 70 or so miles away). Could they ship them down to my location? He looked at me like I was from another planet, and replied, no, they can't do that. I took my shirts without a word (although I had a couple in my mind). read more

The selection and customer service here has been good, but what sale items are really what appeals to me about Macy's. I've scored a lot of gems on the sale racks! Most frustrating experience I've had in years. I go into the store wanting to exchange a pair of Adidas I received as a Christmas present. Due to the fact that adidas no longer sells their shoes in store, I was to be refunded instead. So... they send me a Merchandise Certificate in the mail, which took 2 months to show up to my house, and get this... this certificate can only be used in store. So here I am talking to someone over the phone about how I'm supposed to buy shoes online with this, and they tell me to call a different number on their website. Which I do, just to be told that this certificate is for in store use only. So how am I supposed to purchase these shoes if I am not able to get a gift card or a real refund. ? This must be a joke. I work in retail as well. It should not be this hard for a costumer to purchase something. Called again, told I can come into the store to order online. I went in here right before Christmas and had a great experience. I've always enjoyed this store, and my brother is quite a frequent customer. I buy quite a bit of housewares items and cologne from here. My brother buys a ton of clothes here and they are always helpful. He has to order some online and the customer service is wonderful. They really do go above and beyond to get us what we need. I went upstairs in the housewares and around the Christmas decorations. I found some great coffee mugs and ornaments with initials on them. I asked for some help because I couldn't find all of the mugs that I wanted. An employee (I forget his name, but he was amazing!) started to explain where there were others. He then decided it was just easier to take me and show me where they were. I sent him and my brother over and they came back with what I needed. I was looking through the ornaments, and couldn't find one. The employee started looking with me, and stated he would look through every single one in the hopes that we could find the one I was looking for. He was incredibly sweet and helpful. I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to do something as mundane as looking through ornaments with me to find exactly what I needed. He could have easily just directed me to what I needed and walked away. Instead he took the time to really help. I wasn't just a number or some annoying customer demanding his time and efforts. He went above and beyond what I expected. This same employee was the one who cashed me out, and another employee, an older gentleman wrapped everything up for me and put it in a box, and was kind enough to give me several other spare gift boxes to use for packaging some other Christmas presents, that I didn't even buy from Macy's. He was also kind enough to go to two other stations nearby and find the right sizes I needed. Both employees were beyond helpful and I really appreciated it. For being a national chain store, the customer service and standards for quality are definitely not lost here in this store the way it is in many. I have to appreciate that. Such poor customer service. After being a customer for many years a so called platinum supposedly special customer. I wasn't able to access the site from my laptop so used my iPhone but at checkout it didn't give me the option of using my star money. I called right away but was told it wasn't possible to use it on that order because it had to be done at checkout. He didn't care about my explanation. It was for a $135 item, that dropped to $120 the next week. I would have returned it but it was a very large carpet. Never again. So short sighted to lose a customer for $10. read more

worker made my children uncomfortable, they were walking around with their items. not up to anything suspicious with me in the store, a worker comes up to them following them around (named Gwenyth) and asks if they are finding everything alright and they answer and say thank you and start to walk away and she proceeds to follow and sticks her hand out demanding that she holds it up at the front. not asking if that's what they'd like or giving them the choice, rudely putting her hands in their face. we did not proceed to make any purchases there, service and manners were absolutely terrible. read more

My parents sent me some Macy's clothes last xmas that were totally not my style, but they left the tags on so I could exchange them. A few months after doing so I found my self over that way so I thought I'd maybe get something useful with my credit-laden giftcard, like some socks or undershirts. Something about my appearance was cause for the Loss Prevention Senior Citizen to blatantly follow me around staring at me while I browsed. For ten minutes this guy bird-dogged me all around men's apparel, making me feel EXTREMELY unwelcome. I left without spending any credit & gave away the giftcard so I wouldn't have to go back. Why would I pay for the privilege to be glared at my some overpaid, underworked asshole? I don't know if it was because I was a good 20 years younger than any other shopper, because I was a college student with a backpack & a wallet chain, or because my facial hair means I'm the evil twin - and the treatment I got means I won't ever be going back to find out! When your clientele dies off I hope you go out of business, Macy's. Maybe they'll put something awesome in your space like an ice skating rink or some water slides. read more

The manager Rich is a bully and not only tried to intimidate me away when I inquired about my jewelry warranty after having to bring back my infinity 2 carat diamond braceled for damage twice and its poor quality that he harassed me and bullied me for no acceptable reason acting as if he is untouchable. I kept my composure and refused to be bullied this us not the first time no wonder this location is an embarrassment to Macys as a whole. This is my first review but I will be pursuing how discriminated harrassed and bullied as well as telling his employees to refuse to sell me anything as well as not allowing them to respond as if they as well are fearful of him causing a scene and embarrassing me He is out of control and when I asked him for his card and the corporate number he refused defaming my character by stating "I am afraid what you will do with myname" He is beyond unprofessional. I felt like I was in a thrift store, with racks out of season clothing crammed together And no sales help whatsoever. Every time I go there I always get great service! I shop a lot online, and sometimes I have to pick up my things at the service desk. The ladies there are always so friendly, and sometimes when it doesn't work out I have to do a return, I never get ugly looks they are always still very nice to me. My most recent interaction has been upstairs in the bedding department where an associate named Isabel has been helping me find the perfect bedding for this warm weather. I've been finding her also working and the bra Department, and we just keep running into each other. She's helped me many times so maybe I shop there too much. LOL. I've also been downstairs in the handbag department where I've gotten really good service as well. It doesn't matter where in the store I have shopped the associates have always treated me with lots of great customer service as you would expect from any store. Deals, Deals everywhere. I was visiting a friend in Eugene and Macy's was having a clearance sale. There were racks of discounts everywhere ----- it was fun but a bit overwhelming. Every time I turned around I got a little lost and thought I was in the new part of the store. I tried on a few items; one on clearance---the rest were regular price. Time was up and I went to purchase my items. The clerk was very aggressive. She did the obligatory "Do you have a Macy's card" spiel. I turned down the offer, but she persisted. She even asked me or suggested that she wait and mail me my full priced coat I was buying. Like, what, wait until Wednesday when it's on sale and then mail it to me. ?. Still, I said no. I like my merchandise and I like Macy's, but I was very disappointed in the pushy sales clerk. She had a grey tooth - that's all I really remember. read more

This Macy's is like every other Macy's I have been to with a bit better customer service. They have many different departments and are attached to the Valley River Mall. There's never too many people in here to the point where it takes forever to check out like some Macy's I have been to. Sometimes they have some great deals on jackets and during the holidays, especially on clothes. The cosmetics section is huge with so many different brands to purchase from and many people to help you find what you need. I left one star off because it's a big box store and really nothing special. Sometimes items are insanely overpriced here so you have to wait for the sales. They also send out really confusing coupons that end up not working with most of their items because they put so many things "on sale" that your coupon won't work. Make sure to read the small print. I hate when they do that and would prefer they just be straight forward with their marketing instead of upsetting people. read more

I am reviewing about Macy's bridal registry, specifically their choice in consultants. My husband and I agreed that the experience from the bridal consultant was the worst experience of our wedding. The salesperson somehow managed to be both boring as stale toast and pushy at the same time (which I never realized was possible). She refused to listen to what we wanted and instead continued with her pedantic sales pitch. Despite telling her multiple times that we were not interested in doing a walk-thru with her throughout the whole process she insisted. It still makes our blood boil to talk about it or even go into the store. I'm appalled at the lack of service in lingerie - Does Macy's really care if anything gets sold? One person covers the entire department, but in 1/2 hour I never saw her assist a single customer with fitting, size search, or style advice.
