After a satisfying lunch, I decided to walk around Macy's department store and do a little browsing. This was my first time at Macy's and I didn't realize how huge this 2-floor store was. Its appearance is similar to what Sears (which is no longer with us, R.I.P.) once looked like, but Macy's offers a broad selection of brands; ranging from mid-range to high-end designer. On the first floor there's: * Apparel: men's, women's, swimwear, intimates * Jewelry & watches * Shoes/fragrances/cosmetics * Handbags & wallets/sunglasses * Starbucks On the second floor there's: * Women's formal dresses (by occasion) * Apparel: kids & baby/toys * Cookware/luggage * Furniture/bed & bath/ small kitchen appliances Though the items are pricey and can easily cost a person and estimated average of $200 or more, the sales people will try to persuade you to open a Macy's card for potential savings and rewards. read more

Went to get a plus size dress at the broward mall location. I walked through the entire store and could hardly find a person to even help me. Finally, find a lady in woman's and ask for dresses over size 14. I was told that they do not carry any dresses or professional clothing in plus size in the store. I was told that in even the lady who works there has to go to another city to find clothing for herself. The closest store is about 45 min away in either direction to possibly find a choice of clothing. read more

I was heading macys for no reason which is always a bad idea. But luckily I eat with a coffee only which they have a Starbucks in the store at this location. Normally the men's last act has some great options for my son and husband but today wasn't a good day. The staff is always around to answer my questions especially in the menu section and the last act deals are normally really good. Since I am starting my Xmas shopping this location will definitely be a stop for sure read more

This Macys has been an anchor store at the Broward Mall for many years, although this is my first shopping journey at this location. It was not busy at all since it was during the week. First thing that caught my attention was the employee, possibly a manager (did not catch her name but she was a black female with long braided hair) walking through the cosmetic and women's clothing sections organizing inventory and asking several customers if they needed assistance - kudos to her. The wife tried on a long jean skirt and shorts that unfortunately as usual did not fit. She did find and purchase a foundation called Anastasia in the cosmetic section from a friendly clerk. There were deep discounts clearly posted at every merchandise table. There were almost too many employees, at least one in every section so we did not have to hunt for one. None were pushy in the cosmetic sections in the old days when they sprayed you with perfume in the face then asked if you want a try - it really was like that. Everything was clean, organized and clearly marked sections which included: men and women's clothing, cosmetics, purses and an entire area of Disney products. Big brand name companies which include: Sutra,Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, Impulse, MAC, Lancôme, Prada, Sunglass Hut, Calvin Klein and Boss with many others. This location has a fully operational Starbucks near the mall entrance. read more

Big department store in the Broward Mall. Many brand name apparel and cosmetic companies. Loved the shoe and purse sections. I purchased a foundation from Anastasia for $38.00. The cashier was helpful and allowed easy conversation. They have a Starbucks right at the front of this Macys. Lots of help walking around happy to assist. read more

My friend was going to a wedding..so off we go shopping...In and out of every store...uggg I can't imagine trying on so many dresses. I really liked this Macy's, it's very clean, roomy and well lit. There were many customer service people in almost all the departments I visited, so there was always someone to ask a question. Their men's section had a good mix of high end brands like Polo as well as some more mainstream brands. The clothes were all nicely folded and stacked. It was a pleasure to shop in here. This Macy's has never been the best but sadly it has gone down hill more. The escalators are consistently broken and taped off. There is one small elevator that moves at a turtles pace. Many departments look like a clearing house and they are not maintaining their restrooms. Perhaps there's a shortage in employees, but compared to Pembroke Pines and Galleria, it looks very shlocky. read more

Honestly a kinda confusing set up and rather messy location. They have a standard store area, a backstage outlet area, and a cafe / Starbucks area on a lower floor behind the escalator. For the chain it just felt like a super odd setup and was weird to walk through. They had different levels, which is fine, but it was chaotic and not very clean, which made it hard to find anything. The clearance area / backstage area was even worse than the main areas with stuff just kinda laid around and not organized. They did have a Starbucks on a lower level, which was a bit hidden behind the escalators. They had the collection mugs so I grabbed a couple of those for my stash. The barista was very uninterested in the guests and kinda just rang up orders and put them out. Overall: C- Not a clean location, hard and weird to shop. People wonder why retail is dying. Just take a look at this store. There's hardly any staff to help you. The ladies' room is falling apart. The dressing rooms are filthy. The escalator was not working. For me, however,what I find most heinous in this store is that they almost completely ignore an entire segment of consumers: The petite woman. There is a very small petite department with a limited amount of ugly sportswear. There is no petite dress or suit area for professionals. I did ask an associate where to find these items. I was told I could shop online and return items that did not fit to the store. Another associate told me the store was simply too small for that type of merchandise and I could go to Aventura or Boca. I guess if I want to shop and try on clothes at a Macy's I will have to go out of my way to visit these stores. Such a shame when a customer comes in to a store wanting to spend money and can't find a thing to buy. Macys backstage outlet********review I noticed online there was a "Backstage Outlet" and I wanted to check it out. It is on the second floor and it was kind of like a Marshall's. A store within a store. Everything had pretty decent pricing and there were a lot of little "stocking stuffer" type items. It's almost the season! This review is strictly for the cosmetics department. I was attempting to update my "look" and for some reason I wound up here & not in the Boca store. I'm not a shopper, in fact I can't stand malls, especially crazy busy department stores. For this reason I headed straight over to the Lancome counter. I have been wearing Lancome for twenty five plus years and I have my "must haves" and on this day I needed one of my go-to items. Imagine my surprise when the Lancome counter didn't have anyone working at that particular time. I walked around looking at their newest collections for a solid five minutes, just killing time and I was getting more and more aggravated. I had other places that I needed to be & I didn't have a lot of time to wait. I approached a woman working for Estee Lauder and asked her if she could please page a Lancome staff member to help me. For whatever reason she wasn't able/willing to do that, and I have no idea why. She was kind enough to go to the Lancome counter & help me make my purchase and leave. She tried to locate my lipstick for me but unfortunately she couldn't find it & she seriously made a great effort too. I really appreciated her help. I was told the individual brands are not always adequately staffed. I wasn't thrilled to hear this because how on earth could someone representing Estee Lauder or Clinique possibly have enough product knowledge of their competitors products. This never happened to me in any other Macy's. I did read that Macy's is closing a lot of their stores and I was sad to hear this. Long story short, the associate helping me was not able to find my shade of lipstick nor was she able to make any other recommendations. This wasn't her fault because she's not a Lancome representative. I did buy an Estee Lauder lipstick from her which I am very happy with & I will continue to wear this color too. Sometimes things happen for a reason and that includes cosmetics too. Three stars goes to the very nice lady who helped me, which I appreciated. I can't rate this any higher because the store was not properly staffed. If there was more coverage and an actual Lancome employee then that would be different. Most importantly the main reason is the lack of mall/store security. Read on... On my way in and out of the store I noticed a group of scary problematic looking people just walking around the parking lot. I was approached by one of the young girls & she asked me for the time. I found this extremely interesting since she was holding her phone & we all know our phones clearly show the time. I did feel like she was trying to distract me and I didn't feel safe. And people wonder why more and more stores are closing. I reported this to mall security and ALSO to a Macy's manager & both shrugged it off. I do most of my shopping online because number one, time is always an issue and number two, I am much safer in my own home than in a mall parking lot that has minimal or no security at all. It's not just here, it's everywhere & safety is key. Always be aware of your surroundings no matter where you are and I am not being paranoid. Came in here for some retail therapy. I love shoes so thats the first place I hit. They were having a buy one get one deal which was great but the shoes section was a MESS. It looked like there was some kind of stampede. After being so frustrated looking through all the shoes thrown on the floor and in random aisles, I asked someone when they were going to organize the shoe section. She was very rude and directed me to the manager whom I expressed my frustration to. She was nice and understanding about it and directed someone to organize the mess. I consistently do not have the greatest service at Macy's. I never feel like they really want to help their customers. 2 stars for the manager for being understanding and finally asked someone to clean up the mess, but you did not need a customer to tell you. read more

Dated store with lots of different merchandise but not as good as other locations, especially for me, I rather be at the Men's-Only type Macy's locations. The restrooms here were old and I feel they should overhaul them and other parts of the store to keep up with the times. This Macy's is a disaster! I went there today to look for sheer stockings and a sweater. As I was walking around.... the clothes were in complete disarray - it looked like a bomb was dropped - no one has organized or picked up anything. Associates were arguing loudly in Spanish.... No one was around to help - you had to look for a person at a check out. Finally, I found someone.... after they finished their conversation with their friend and acknowledged I was standing there .... she pointed in the direction of the stockings and said "that's it over there" I will never go back to this Macy's - due to poor management, total chaos, lack of respect from employees, absolutely no customer service, and pure rudeness. This store has a very cluttered Michael Kors section for women's clothing. The racks are so close to each other. It is even hard to walk through the department to get to where I want to look. The fitting room was filled with someone else's leftovers. So was another one I went to. It is difficult to shop like this. I like to have room to walk around. The shoe department is the bright spot of this store. I was able to get assistance very quickly. I received honest feedback about another pair of shoes I tried on. I know it was honest because the feedback I received recommended I do not buy the shoes based on the shape of my foot. I appreciate that and will definitely come back and shop again in the shoe department at this Macy's. read more

Well I had a busy day at Macy's. The staff was friendly. They now put your name in a pad and call your name when the shoes are ready for pick up. They changed the whole mall around. The lady at the Clinique was so rude when she knew I was not buying until tomorrow with a coupon that did not apply until the next day. I asked well where are the products, her reply was "huh, in the drawers". I then had to reiterate, "can I see them". She unwillingly showed me. My review is based on one particular shopping trip! I have come to this Macy's in the past and have been underwhelmed by the visual state of the merchandise as well as the level of customer service I have received. However, yesterday I was pleasantly surprised! I came in the door closest to the shoe department and I noticed that they moved their swim and active wear to this door. It looked super clean and organized, as opposed to the messy junior/dress department that you used to immediately see upon entering that door. I walked over to the perfume counter and was greeted by an employee very soon after testing some perfumes. I knew what I wanted, so it was a quick and easy transaction. While the staff member assisted me, another employee walking by and asked if I needed assistance. I really appreciated the level of customer support that was available at this time. Next, I walked over to the impulse beauty section (an area that is set up like Sephora with different brands by rows). I was greeted right away and asked if I needed any help. I needed a lot of assistance, as I wanted to revamp my makeup regimen. The sales associate offered various recommendations and assisted me with trying on different foundations and lip stains. I will admit that I tend to avoid department stores, but I can say that I'll give Macy's another chance after the service that I received yesterday. read more

Good experience with the staff as always. Sometimes the cashiers are a little slow but it doesn't go by too bad. Sales are always great. I cant complain. I do online pick ups quite constant and my only issue was having to go upstairs to pick up. Now the online pick up is downstairs near the North entrance. In totally excited. No one wants to lug large items down an escalator or elevator. It really wasnt thought out much. But a small change with a big effect. Overall clean and well displayed departments. Signage is well put together, quite clear, and easy to understand. And all staff despite the department is on the same page with sale or promotion knowledge. Macy's is - well, Macy's. A little too pricey, definitely between Walmart and Nordstrom's, but a place to buy quality merchandise.

I came to do a little Christmas shopping and the Macy associate was very outgoing. I appreciate the patience that I received from him in my indecision. David was the associate that helped me in the men's fragrance department. He made some packages for me since a majority of the packages was gone. Typically where I stop when I'm on my lunch break. A great place to kill some time. The customer service is alright. Nothing thrilling, but not necessarily bad. They have a semi-annual 'one day sale' pretty much every weekend so watch out for that. I always get annoyed at the way their coupons work. Typically they are only on certain brands and things can't be on sale- bummer. It's a pretty large location, clean, well-lit and laid out pretty well. I like their men's department and bedding and bath, but cannot comment on their women's department because I haven't begun wearing any dresses yet. All in all, it's pretty okay here. read more

They are blocking the 6% I would get from Rakuten. As far as I am concerned I will not be ordering from hem again. It's no Burdines or anything...Sigh. I have a couple of items I only buy at Macy's: Miss Me jeans and Hotel collection pillows. Need to try jeans on, and have to touch those pillows!!! Otherwise I am an avid online shopper... I recently went to buy new bras because my best friend said my bras didn't fit and I needed a proper sizing done there...so yeah, that didn't go well. Despite having three people in the department, they were all useless. I ended up going elsewhere. That seems to be the problem there, they compete to ring you up, so they can get the sale, however, they don't actually help you on the sales floor. Hence my preference to shop online. I went directly to the purse department in search of a Wallet. When in said department two employees stood behind the register talking to each other. I could not find the style I was looking for but looked and looked in Michael Kors. More employees- at one point 5 of them- congregated and talked to each other. I could have used some help and thought surely it was just a matter of time before I was acknowledged and offered some help. After being there for about 20 minutes I heard an employee ask, "may I help you, ma'am?" It turns out she was talking to another customer who had just strolled in. She wasn't talking to me. What a mess. The fitting rooms are dreary and messy, and there's no one around to assist. The racks are unorganized and some areas seem to have no rhyme or reason to what's on them. The staff is rude and unhelpful. No greetings, no offers to help, and one lady almost ran into me and it was me who apologized. They really need to step up their game here. read more
