These people should be ashamed of themselves. I bought a lengha for $1100 and realized it didn't suit me when I got home. They agreed to exchange it, however, they then tried to tell me they sold it to me for $600. They never gave an itemized receipt so they knew they could make up whatever number. How rotten. Went to made in India to shop for my brother's upcoming wedding. My brother liked a couple of outfits, but could not decide which one he likes better. He was honest about the fact that he planned on shopping around before making a final decision. My brother had just one day in town because he is a resident doctor in Dallas and just got a few days off because of his busy schedule and decided to shop for his wedding outfit in one day. He made a simple request to the owner, could you please take my measurements and keep them on file. He had no time to come back so I think the request was fair. The rude owner with his made up polite talks no we cannot do that until an order is placed . I mean you are running a business, be accommodating! He does not care and because he does not care his shop might be closed down sooner than he realizes. Treat your customers well! read more

I visited this store over the thanksgiving weekend and noticed that most of the outfits are out dated inside the store. Only the stuff displayed in the showcase is newer but yet OVERPRICED. I actually spotted many same outfits I had tried from 2009 when I got married ...lol. At that time, there weren't much choices in the market but nowadays there are lot more store offering same if not better for the friction of the price. I felt sorry for the sales girls, seems like they were under extreme pressure to complete the sale or being watched by the owner (not sure). I highly recommend that no one shop here EVER! I've never experienced such rude and belittling service from a store before. They try to sell you over-priced pieces that are dirty, spoiled and falling apart. When questioned they yell at you in front of others and tell you to get out of their store. My experience almost mirrored that of a previous reviewer (Aman B.) I also came to Made in India several years ago and took a liking for an "off the rack" bridal outfit. I needed some basic changes made to it, ie. different coloured blouse but exactly the same in every other respect, and slightly looser skirt so as to allow me to sit comfortably. These were very, very simple changes. I was told my outfit would be custom made for me at their factory in India and delivered to me within 6 weeks. Two months pass and I still had not heard back. Finally I receive a call advising me my outfit has arrived. I go to the store and it is completely wrong in every respect: the colour, the size, the fabric, the embroidery/patterns. It is brown instead of maroon. It is long sleeved instead of short sleeved. It has leaf prints on it (??????!!!). To spare the details this happened 3 times thereafter. 3 more times they had their factory in India attempt to make my outfit, and all 3 times it came back completely wrong. After the third failed attempt, I told the owner I wanted my deposit back. He reassured me that he was going to India himself that week and would not come back without the exact outfit I asked for. He returns from India 1 week before my wedding. The skirt he presents me is quite similar to what I had asked for and I am not entirely satisfied but willing to keep it. But here's the kicker - he returned WITHOUT THE BLOUSE. Unfortunately with a week left for my wedding, my options were now limited. The store owner asked me to choose any other random blouse in the store to match - which I begrudgingly did due to time restraints, even though the colours did not particularly match with my wedding ensemble. I still, to this day, cannot understand how such obvious mistakes were being made time and time again. Were they not relaying information properly to their factory? Were their factory workers incapable of comprehending instructions? Were the store owners visually impaired? Regardless, these people along with another Indian retailer ruined my life in the year leading up to my wedding. I do not recommend getting anything made by these people - buy things from their store if you will, but never trust their ability to custom make anything. read more

If you want to be stalked while you shop, then go here. The owners follow you around and harass you about what you want, how much you want to spend etc etc. And if you don't buy, they go TOTALLY cold and rude. Their stuff is not in fashion either. Old selection with the same outfit in multiple colors etc. Bad experience. Will not go back. read more

We definely did not have a good experience here. Although their selection is great -- it's most certainly not one of a kind as they share a manufacturer with a few shops in the area. They overpriced by nearly $1k for the exact same "one of a kind" outfit. We ended up liking an outfit that was unique but most certainly not bridal by any means -- again way overpriced and not only that... the owner and the sales people made us feel so uncomfortable by their looks to each other and side chats. We ended up buying the outfit solely due to our liking -- but we bought it with a broken zipper as they would not fix it.... or else they would "increase" the price. So we paid over for the outfit with a broken zipper and felt very uncomfortable by the staff. They also told us not to believe yelp reviews and that they're fake.... odd because we said we felt similar to the sentiment on yelp. read more

If I could give zero stars on this review I would. My experience was horrendous. My bridal lengha order was a complete nightmare. The custom order came in all wrong and management tried to give me the run around two weeks before my wedding. In Feb 2015, I made the mistake of purchasing my bridal lengha from Made in India. I had a custom piece created and was told by Rajesh and his wife Simmi that it would match my specifications. After ordering, they took a deposit of 50 percent and did not even give me a receipt or a invoice. Instead I got a business card with a order number on it. The lengha arrived three weeks late, and the owners did not even give me a call. In fact, I called multiple times and no one answered and had to make multiple trips to the store to follow up. When the lengha finally arrived, two and a half weeks before my wedding, it was in the wrong color, wrong design and size. I was mortified. And the owners answer to rectifying their mistake was to offer a beat up floor model top that was similar to the design I had liked and did not match the bottom (they were two different shades of red). After arguing with them, I eventually received my deposit back, but that left me without a lengha for my wedding 18 days out. Thankfully the girls at Crossover in Surrey were able to make me a custom piece in two weeks that I liked even better. I would highly recommend not going to this shop! The prices are inflated and the customer service is terrible. read more

I have been in this store many times. I find that the first 2 or 3 times, the salespeople just follow you around to the point where you just leave the store. After that, the owner, the only man in the store, starts giving you attitude if you don't buy anything or if you have to think about a purchase. The owner is mean and outright rude. I would not recommend this store to anyone. If you are soemone who just wants to "see" what they have, don't even waste your time going in. The owner was rude to me on several occasions. Today was the last time in my life that I would ever go there. You can find exceptional service elsewhere. Trust me. read more

This store does not deserve any stars!!!! The worst in Surrey ever!! Maybe the owner should teach the snobby sales associates not to judge people the way they look when they walk into the store! I heard the sales associates whispering to each other saying "why is she even looking around nothings going to even fit her" I wish I had called them out on the spot but just felt so terrible that I left the store. Did you ever think that maybe I was shopping and looking for an outfit for someone else? Not going to get very far selling outfits with having disgusting rude people working at your store with a bad attitude! I hope nobody has to go through with what I did! Learn a thing or 2 about how to run a business properly Made In India, trust me you won't die to be even just a tiny bit nice. ive just read all the negative reviews about Made in India, I am quite surprised. Anytime Ive shopped at Made in India I always had a good experience myself and the last time I shopped they actually bailed me out of a jam. I had ordered an outfit for my brothers wedding from an online website, (it was the first and the last I order online), and my outfit didnt get shipped out on time and I wasnt getting any proper answers from the customer service line. So last minute I went In to Made in india and not only did they get what I wanted in the color I wanted( to go with the family color theme) they put a rush on it and I received it in little less than 4 weeks. It fit very well so no alterations were needed. The thing is, that they are overpriced. they also sometimes depending on the salesperson, try to sell just to sell even if the outfit doesnt work. Some of my family have had issues tgis time around with some of the outfits especially when they are bigger in shape. read more

I bought my reception outfit from here back in March 2016. I saw something in the store that i really liked but it was a two piece and I really wanted to wear a one piece. The store owners and sales associate said you can just attach the two pieces together and it'll be what you want. They sent me to their tailor who did just that and he even assured me that it could be done. When I finally went back to try it on-2 weeks later-it didn't even fit me! The zipper was so visible, the fit was off because it was two separate shapes sewed together and the sleeves that I wanted were off. Because the bottom of the piece was so heavy it was pulling on the top and therefore the top was falling off my shoulder. I was so disappointed. A few days later, I took it back to made in india and shared my concerns with them and they assured me it could be fixed and when I mentioned to simmi how the sleeves were off, she didn't even acknowledge it. When we went back to tailor he said he could do it but all the embriodery would be cut off. Feeling frustrated and disappointed, I told him to make it back into a lengha. I was so disappointed. I ended up going to Sunny's Bridal and had a wonderful experience and service was on point! Lesson learned: DON'T go to made in india for your wedding stuff! read more
