I purchased a Groupon voucher for my Daughter to get tinting on her window. She bought a car that didn't have any, and I gave it to her for Christmas. When she went to redeem her voucher and make an appointment, she was told that her car did not qualify. Of working with her and being nice the woman she spoke to was very rude. My son was taking one of our cars to college in Colorado so I stopped by to see about the services offered here. We had bought our car used and realized the tinting was really dark. David let us know that the level of tint would actually be illegal in CO, so good thing I came by! We got a quote to strip the old tint and reapply a new, more appropriate shade. No need to buy a Groupon because you can inquire about their online deal or Yelp special to save roughly the same amount, which they prefer to do. Used these folks 14 years ago for our Jeep Cherokee. They did a good job then, so I'm returning with our new VW. They already started on a good foot with me because I also asked about car "bras". Leslie explained that they do sell them, but also confirmed my concerns about sometimes yellowing after a few years, and that over time the paint will appear uneven because that under the protective film will look newer than the rest of the vehicle paint. She saved me money on a product I likely wouldn't have been happy with after a few years, even though they could have had additional business from me installing this thing. But I still got the VW tint, legal limit with the ceramic tint (for better heat rejection). I had to leave the vehicle. She estimated three hours, but it actually took less than that. It appears to be a very good job. No bubbles, blemishes, or anything else. They warranty their work, and the film itself. I've only had it a few weeks, so I cannot speak to any long-term issues. But our Jeep didn't have any (after 14 years!), and they have their warranty. So I'm not too concerned. Good job, reasonable price, and done faster than they said it would be. The ONLY minor annoyance was that the liquid (water?) used to apply the film spotted my car in a few places. Easy enough to wash that, but slightly annoying on a new car. Obviously I didn't deduct any points for that, just commenting. read more

Vehicle: Hyundai Kona 2020 Limited First time visit after recommendations from family to get my new car windows tinted here! I was advised to use a groupon but didn't feel like setting it all up and went with a Promo Code for the Tint I wanted which was the Black Pearl Nano Ceramic.. I asked for 30 on the Front sides 05 on the Rear Sides and 20 on the Back.. I thought I filled out Visor Strip option when I purchased online but according to Rebecca at the front desk it was not noted. In Hindsight I don't see an option for that when purchasing online so if you're reading this please keep that in mind when you give them a call to confirm you have an order... Ordering Online: On that note, I purchased the Tint Service through their online website which seemed nice at first HOWEVER I was a little disappointed to know that after you place the order online it is YOUR duty to give them a call to make an appointment and not the other way around. I couldn't find instructions for that so I think about a day or two passed before I set up an appointment because I was concerned that I did not know when I would be taking my car in. Customer Service: I was pleased to have been giving a call when I was heading to my Appointment as I was stuck in traffic and was afraid I would have to reschedule but fortunately the rep understood! Rebecca helped me with my services upon arrival and at first she seemed wary but as I often do I try to vibe check and be the best customer I can lol! Rebecca eased up afterwards and it was pleasant to chat with her and she was very knowledgeable and had voiced her concerns about going very dark with the tint. I hadn't planned to go as dark as possible but it was still nice to listen to her concerns and give me something to think about.. Rebecca was nice and did a good job! She wasn't even bothered that I wanted to add the Visor Strip! Service: I was the last car of the day! I felt bad for scheduling so late and I thought that had something to do with my showing up at first! I was told that it would take 3 - 4 hours and I did my usual "Don't worry take your time~" as most often I don't plan things around appointments where anything could happen putting other plans in jeapordy.. After I handed over the Keys one of the skilled tinters came to move the car and made sure I understood that I should be wary of going very dark on the back window. I assured that I wasn't as I still wanted to see behind me at night and she seemed relieved and went on about the job... Looked around on Google Maps for Small Businesses to support, Found a cute Bakery, visited a Chinese Resturaunt nearby and had decent chinese food... No less than 2 hours later the Vehicle was done.. I believe it only took them about an Hour and 30 Minutes. They knocked it out of the ball park with the speed and THAT I did not expect. We walked back picked up the car and I was blown away at how nice it looked! Completely worth it and I can't believe I had been driving without Tinted windows for so long! TLDR: If Ordering Online You have to call THEM to make an Appointment. They will not call you first. Service seemed blazingly fast for my car it may not be the same in your case book out a time slot of 3 - 4 hours still! Customer Service is nice but as always please be nice and you'll be treated nicely in return. They will address any concerns you have, and finally the TINT looks amazing! No issues with customer service, appointment time, or time frame that was promised (3 hour install). I decided to wait in the lobby of the shop and watched a movie on VHS, lounged on the comfy futon, played on my phone, even did my nails lol. If you are not interested in waiting, I recommend calling an Uber or getting someone to pick you up, because there aren't many places to walk to near this place. It is in a retirement area, so there's just RV parks and breakfast cafes nearby. I am very happy with the tinting job that they did on my vehicle! There are no bubbles or damage to my windows. I opted for limo style tinting on all of my rear windows (5 total) and it has made a huge difference with blocking out light AND heat. Didn't think window tinting would cool off the interior so much. I purchased a Groupon and paid the difference to upgrade the tint, which came to a grand total of $140. Found this company on internet and they have a Groupon but I called and they said they had direct pricing too. So I did not buy the Groupon because they usually have to give Groupon half. So I made appointment for Saturday for my sons car. A Kia Optima. When I arrived I discussed the different options available and upgraded for a little more money. I brought my truck in for two front windows and they did a great job. I had previously went to a different shop and had to have the tint replaced twice before finally giving up and going somewhere else. Now, I wish I had just gone to Made in the Shade in the first place. They have a sign that says something to the effect of "we fix the other shop's $90 tints" and that was that true in my experience. We got my daughter's little Ford Escort's windows tinted here. Like another customer, we discovered them from Groupon. My original intent was to use Groupon to get her her car's window tinting as I thought that would save me money. I had my daughter call around to several companies using Groupon and find out the prices, and if it would include all her windows minus the windshield. Her back passenger windows have a triangular window with the other door window and some companies charge extra for that. After calling around to several companies, she chose Made in the Shade because they had the best deal. I also called and asked Leslie which would be less expensive - using Groupon or skip Groupon and buy direct from them. There was a 50% discount going through the company on the overall price of the car for I believe the 35% window tint using the middle quality. I believe that was $265 (original price) then $132 (50% discount included). Then add another $30 for darker window tinting on the back passenger and rear window. The triangular back passenger windows were included and not extra charge. We chose the next shade up from Limo, as Limo was way too dark for the back passenger and rear window. The front two doors were at the darkest legally they could be - 35%. We chose the Onyx quality. Dropped off the car early in the morning and came and picked up mid-afternoon. Everything looked good. Leslie said to not roll the windows down for 3 days and park in the sun as much as possible. I am doing this review but I actually haven't driven in the car after the tinting was put on. My daughter hasn't complained about anything so I'm guessing everything is okay. The tint looks good to me. Leslie said most of the "air bubbles" should be gone within a week or so, but there might still be some for a few months. I forget the exact timeframe. But eventually they should all be gone. There was no tinting on my daughter's windows to begin with. The reason why we didn't buy a Groupon is that the total cost would have actually been more ($79 for the Groupon which is for a $160 tint job). The original cost of the tint job was $295 so if you subtract $160, you pay that difference plus what you paid for the Groupon ($135+$79=$214 using a Groupon or $162ish without Groupon). Using a Groupon would have cost us about $50 more for the same exact thing. Glad we did our homework. I will update the review at some later time probably in the Fall and hopefully there are no problems. It was pretty easy to schedule, get the tinting, picking up the car.
