For years I've dreamt of visiting Vermont @ Christmas. I finally found the perfect travel partner to make that dream a reality and got busy searching for a special Inn to add to the experience. Made INN Vermont did not disappoint. The Innkeeper Linda and her sweet staff served up amazing breakfasts, kept our room clean & loaded with snacks and goodies! We really loved our room (905) as it stayed so warm, cozy and accommodating on the coldest of days that Burlington gave us. I was able to catch some pretty sweet shots of this very unique Inn that I will attach. After a hearty breakfast each morning (5 days) we had emails from Linda about the best places to eat and things to do every day. This lady knows her city as none of them disappointed!! Great old inn right at the Champlain College campus which was perfect for our purpose, an event there. We had stayed before at one of the cookie-cutter hotels in town and didn't like having to haul up the hill to the school. We had also stayed at the lovely Willard Street Inn but it recently changed owners and is under renovation so we gave Made INN Vermont a try - everything seemed to be about the same price. I love this inn for the insanely good made-to-order breakfast, the location across the street from pretty Champlain college and the views of the lake and mountains that being up in the hill district provides. We found the half-mile walk to the Church Street shops and restaurants to be really easy. I'll be back in August for two nights for college dropoff and am already excited to return. read more

The exterior as you walk up isn't going to get you excited, but when you walk in, see the endless snacks, the funky cool rooms with more snacks! I personally enjoyed the hot tub. Girls trip to Vermont this month (March 2023) and we started by staying here. It delivered beyond our hopes. Linda is very attentive and took great care of us. We sat and visited while sipping wine. Tried to make a reservation here and the way the owner spoke to me on the phone (condescendingly) was enough to make me change my mind about staying here. I wanted to speak to her over the phone because this stay was going to be for our mini honeymoon, which is a special trip (obviously) so I wanted her advice on certain things. I made the mistake of first calling there during breakfast time, and she was so rude on the phone. There is a way to tell someone to call back later in a professional manner. I called back around 1pm and never received a call back. My fiancé and I called back around 630pm which was when she told us we should book online and then went back and forth in a condescending manner about whether or not we were on her website or not when we were having some issues with the website. Our thoughts on that we're, why does it matter? Wouldn't you want to just let that go and book a room for us and show us some good customer service? This lady sounded wacky! We are so glad we didn't book online and have to deal with that personality for our minimoon. WARNING: The Inn keeper/Owner of this B&B does not wear a face mask. I was shocked to receive a tour of the property from Linda without a face mask on. In fact she practically bragged about the fact that she doesn't wear. With cases on the rise in US this is is grossly negligent and selfish. If you don't want to wear a mask then stay in your room and give guests written instructions about what they need to know about the property! Majority of the tour was also spent on belittling my intelligence as to whether i'd remember the codes to the doors she gave me. Turns out the "codes" were so simple that if you knew the code to your door you could open every single one in the BnB. It would be safer to leave your travel goods in the car. Oh and to top off our stay the smoke alarm went off twice at 2am. The fact that her gross negligence hasn't been reported in a review is truly worrying. The friendliest inn keeper you will ever meet. Top notch service, super friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Our stay was so amazing with the attention to detail to the attentiveness. The cozy, intimate Victorian is so chic, original and romantic. I loved that the Inn's keeper went out of her way to pick up a cake before my arrival as per my friend requested to suprise me for my birthday. She even organized with them so that the hand written card was also presented to me at check in. Linda made us special treats, and margaritas to welcome us. After coming back to the inn from dinner, we stopped and bought a bottle of wine to bring back for us to enjoy. So nice of them to offer making sangria for us from our wine that we brought back. Voila, a few minutes later, we got a beautifully presented pitcher of sangria in a tray await to be served. If that was not above and beyond service, I don't know what is. Not to mention the amazimg made to order breakfast. Feeling so pampered. I usually enjoyed my stay at a resort but this Inn had change my mind and converted me to a luxury boutique hotel kind of gal. Bar none it was hand down the best place to stay in Burlington, providing the most exceptional service I had received in my years of traveling and lodging. Well done Made Inn. We had planned a 3 day weekend at the Lang House however had to leave after one night because of issues with our dog at home. Danielle could not have been kinder. She assured us that these things happen and sent us home with a big breakfast and a baggie of homemade gluten free muffins. Great place to stay and welcoming to children (as well as dogs)! I'm not sure any B&B in Burlington allows kids but this one does with warmth and open arms. Our 4 year old loved it as there was no shortage of cool things to play with...for adults as well. Guitars in the hall and main living space, interesting books, eclectic art on the walls and a cool record player (in our room at least) with a set of classic records from Sting to Billy Holiday. Our son loved the medal calypso drum but his favorite was the crew of dinosaurs he played with daily. Our room was cozy and breakfast made to order...delicious. Thanks for the extra potatoes Linda! I had the most relaxing weekend retreat here. I already had high expectations from the pictures and previous reviews but I was truly blown away. It's an exquisitely decorated place. Linda has put so much heart and effort into this home that it shows through all the details. She knows what's great about life and wants to share it with you. I remember thinking it would be great if I could prop our room door open and looked down to find a door stop already attached. I drove through the first snow fall of this winter to be greeted with a sangria, cotton candy, and caramel popcorn. How perfect! I've stayed in B&Bs before and usually expect old dated furniture that smells like Grandma's sweaters but this room could not be further from that. Room 904 has a king sized Tempurapedic bed, record player with plenty of vinyls, and an Eames lounge chair and ottoman set. One wall was painted in black chalkboard and covered with love notes from past visitors. I was completely satisfied just laying in bed, listening to Tina Turner on the record player while strumming along on the ukulele (yes that happened). In the morning Linda greeted us with a friendly smile and shot of Vit C, freshly squeezed orange juice. She diligently took our breakfast orders and then returned with our made to order breakfast. She made great recommendations for local restaurant which we followed for every subsequent meal. There was a cornucopia of snacks and treats, a fully stocked fridge in our room, and unlimited beverages. I could not have asked for more amenities. Made INN Vermont! A perfect name for a magical, eclectic B&B with a lot of love. We fortuitously discovered this special gem on our first visit to Burlington in the spring. Now it is move in time for my daughter attending UVM and here we are again. Clean, comfortable, hospitable and like I said, magical. The decor makes me want to explore as if I am in a museum of art. Fascinating, the comfort of home and cosmopolitan all in one package. If you're wondering what to do or where to go you will be guided to the best spots in town, even places to bring the dog. Our dog has been very happy here with the kind treats and welcomes. The breakfasts have been lavish and delicious. My only complaint is my bad for eating too many of the complimentary people treats that are provided throughout this exotic, warm B&B. read more

My husband and I stayed at Made Inn Vermont with our two large dogs, Freddie and Monty, during Covid-19. For anyone traveling with dogs, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend this B&B. Freddie and Monty LOVED the freedom they had in the house, loved the host Lynda, and were incredibly comfortable in both the common spaces and in the room, which came fully equipped with a dog bed, water bottle + jug, dog toys and treats. When they're happy, I'm happy, and boy did they enjoy this part of our vacation! Ok, other than the incredible dog friendliness, here is the breakdown of our stay: AMBIANCE: The house is adorably cozy and designed with an eclectic taste. You can spend hours looking at all the nicknacks around the home. Some are fantastical and artsy, and others are kind of weird lol but they make for great pics and stories. I really enjoyed the decor. SERVICE: We were toured around the property by Kayla, who was very sweet. Lynda, the innkeeper, is super quirky. She has a personality that I can see might rub people the wrong way (no offense!), but she is clearly passionate and means well. She's a straight shooter so I really don't think she'd mind you saying you need more alone time if that's how you feel (responding to other reviewers). FOOD: Wow, what a breakfast! And all the snacks and alcohol available? Incredible!! ROOM: The bed was sooooo comfy. I could stay in it forever. I also loved the fireplace scene on the TV when we walked in. Cute touch. The bathrooms are detached, which wasn't ideal at night, but not a big deal. And my dogs could follow me to and from the bathroom, so it wasn't so bad. read more

REFRESHING: Between the complimentary Heady Toppers and Focal Bangers, the perfectly crafted, Michelin-star deserving breakfasts courtesy of Siobhan (the executive chef), and mattresses that make you feel like you're sleeping on a cumulonimbus cloud, you'll be feeling like you're ready to create World Peace or, at the very least, have a drunken night on Church Street. CORDIAL: The house is chock full of anything you could want. The staff addresses any need before you even have one. We were also traveling our dog and the room was outfitted for an Westminster Best-in-Show Champion -- dog bags, a pouch of treats, his own water bottle, and dishes to boot. My wife, a vegetarian, was able to eat a full breakfast every morning. Me, a chronic overeater, was served til my heart's content (or discontent, depending on how you look at things). When my husband and I arrived, Linda warmly greeted us and generously offered us drinks, delicious baked goods, and organic snacks. Her Victorian home decorated in an eclectic mix of 1950's glam, bohemian fun, and beautiful antiques amalgamated with her authentic zany humour made us both feel welcome and indulged. Linda knows Burlington extremely well and was able to suggest many great places in which to dine, explore, and to immerse ourselves in the art and culture of the area. The bed and linens were sumptuous; the robes in the closet were warm and cozy, and the perfect sound of vinyl and Frank Sinatra wove its way through her beautiful home. This experience ends with Linda's unrivaled homemade breakfast. My wife and I stayed at Made INN three years ago for our honeymoon. We had the greatest time, so there was no doubt that, given the opportunity, we were going to return. That opportunity presented itself for our third anniversary. Needless to say, we have NOT been disappointed. The INN is as perfect as we remembered, and its host, Linda, is the best innkeeper in the city--(maybe the world)--hands down. This time around, we stayed in Room 904. It is the perfect size with a refreshing summer breeze, a gorgeous view, and all the amenities you could ever ask for. Room 904, like the previous rooms we've stayed in, is so welcoming and interesting that you almost have to force yourself to leave and see the rest of the house. It's an even harder chore to get yourself to leave the house, which has a stocked kitchen area, lounge areas, board games, front porch, hot tub, and relaxing back patio. If you can muster the will power to abandon the many comforts of the house, Linda has plenty of recommendations for the city of Burlington, which itself is a special place. I would venture to say that most if not all of the very few negative reviewers on this page only have themselves to blame for their bad experiences. If you speak up and make your requests known, Linda and her staff will accommodate them to the furthest extent possible. If you keep your complaints to yourself, they can't be fixed. Linda and her staff's willingness to solve your problems and make your stay the best it can be is one of their many excellent qualities. What a fun, eclectic experience. Brought my boyfriend here for a birthday surprise two weeks ago. Had read about it and was curious to try it out. The inn is essentially a big Victorian (?) house on South Prospect street. Nicely blended with other homes and Champlain College buildings so you wouldn't really notice it otherwise since there is no signage. Linda, the owner, is not from Vermont, and that makes her especially interesting. She lives in her own private oasis of neat doodads, 19-year old kitties, hot tubs and memorabilia. The first floor is the entrance, sitting room, eating area, kitchen, etc. Everything decorated and designed by Linda. Lots of interesting little toys, puzzles, books, containers. The lighting in the inn is quite dark. It's like an old-style, darker mansion from days gone by. Upstairs are 4 guest rooms, each unique and filled with oddities and things to capture the attention. Our room and a ukelele, a record player and one whole wall that was a giant chalkboard which previous guests had written on, There are four separate private bathrooms down the hall. You choose your favorite and are given a key to open and unlock the door. Upstairs there is a private little lookout area that affords beautiful views of Lake Champlain and the surrounding area. Highlight for me were chatting with Linda and getting to know her two 19-year-old cats. One of whom just had a stroke, so he walked a little funny and his had was at a slight angle. Really adorable. I'm allergic to cats (a bit) but these two were really beautiful and adorable. Would have never guessed there could be 10, little to say 19. There is a very nice hot tub out back in a private area for those who like to soak. Breakfast selections are delicious and there is a wide array of little tasties to sample. Fresh pastries and such are also put out in the afternoon. Each room has a private fridge stocked with goodies, including Heady Topper beer. I'm sure I'm leaving something out, because there is so much of interest at the Inn, but would highly recommend as a unique experience for people who like to try new things. Linda is very accommodating and liberal in her beliefs (as am I). Not sure if an extreme conservative would enjoy as much as I did, but there was a minister and his wife staying at the inn the night we were there and they were very pleasant to chat with the next day. My wife and I visited Burlington to celebrate her birthday. Our stay at Made Inn Vermont was glorious. Our host, Linda, treated us with exactly the right amount of attention a guest could want. I think it's worth breaking down the things we appreciate about the Inn to these categories: HOSPITALITY As I said, Linda was amazing. Upon welcome, she spends just the right amount of time providing you with all of the maps you need, suggests some wonderful restaurants, gives you the tour, offers you some home-made sangria or a local beer (both equally terrific), and then leaves you to sink in to your room. But, upon discovering it was my wife's Birthday, Linda went out and bought 2 "Happy Birthday" balloons, two small cupcakes, and a lovely card. When we returned from a long bike ride, we found this surprise waiting for us in our room (along with some sangria). It was pretty awesome. FURNISHINGS We stayed in room 904. It was huge and had a chalk board for one of the walls (with chalk available). We also had a record player and a box of records, including one of my favorite Wynton Marsalis albums (though if you don't like what's there, just roam the house; neatly collected record crates dot the place imploring you to explore). The decoration is eclectic and celebratory, but also clean and welcoming (which describes the entire house, really). I HIGHLY recommend you take a drink up to the Widow's Walk at the top of the house and watch the sun set behind the mountains and Lake Champlain. You will find few views that beat this one in the whole town. FOOD We ate two breakfasts here, and they were both restaurant quality meals. In fact the Creme-Brulee French Toast was better than most things I've had in recent memory. Linda and her staff make sure you have everything you need (and more), so you can start your day beautifully. The ambiance. The details. The Aesthetic. The comfort. The place. I mean, it can't get better than this. Made Inn Vermont is so gorgeously designed, every detail was a total pleasure. Each space, each room, each bathroom is beautifully curated with interesting objects, gorgeous furniture, interesting art objects and fun to engage with. There were record players in each room and a box of old records! I mean, how much better can it get? And, then after sitting in the incredible mid-century eames chair? I actually didn't want to go home. But, along with the over-all comfort, the details were pretty amazing too. Things like good heat, hot water with great pressure, delicious food, and an incredibly comfortable bed go a long way too. I slept so well there. What a treat. A few other things: The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Fabulous lox and bagels one morning and delicious eggs, bacon and french toast the other day. And if I wasn't working, the mimosas would be flowing (so funnn!). There is a hot tub, and while I didn't bring a bathingsuit and was with colleagues (no naked time for us!) I did really love this detail. Lastly, as soon as we came home we were offered great suggestions for town, drinks and snacks. They were attentive, fun and easy going. I visited the Made Inn Vermont in mid-October. Linda and her wonderful staff went out of their way to accommodate our late check-in. Upon arrival, we were graciously greeted with clear check-in instructions, and then (even more graciously) Vermont's own Heady Topper beers! We stayed on the first floor, which is not normally open to guests. Every detail at the Inn was divine : gorgeous furniture, original woodwork, little curios and knickknacks, and old-world charm. Our room even boasted an en-suite bathroom - an added perk as the bathrooms are usually separate. In the rooms, a lovely vintage card catalog lists anything you need for an overnight stay but may have forgotten, such as toothpaste, shampoo, and so on. Complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks. I stayed at the Made Inn for the weekend with my boyfriend for our anniversary, and we don't have a single complaint! Linda is amazing and has seriously thought of everything her guests could ever need down to the last detail, before you even ask. We walked in the door after a long drive to complementary Heady Toppers and knew we were in the right place. We stayed in room 903, which is supposedly "the small one" but it was perfect for us. It's definitely bigger than the pictures make it out to be, and it had all of the amenities - tv, dvd player, record player with tons of records, and the most comfortable bed EVER. There were guitars laying around the house that Linda encourages her guests to play, which I'll say was absolutely my boyfriends favorite part. The house itself has tons of other things to look at and explore, I really think I could stay there for weeks and never get bored! As for the food, it was fantastic. Creme brulee french toast is the most delicious (and probably highest calorie) food I think I've ever been exposed to. The second morning we were treated to eggs benedict, and both days there was an array of fruits, granolas, yogurts and juices available as well. Coffee and tea are also available 24/7, and candy! I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights and the experience was nothing short of PERFECT! The Inn Keeper, Linda, is a fabulous host. She is very knowledgable about the area, provides great recommendations, and also cooks up AWESOME breakfast! Linda keeps a great supply of food, candy, and local goodies at all times :) We stayed in room 905, which is spacious and cozy. The beds are also like heaven!! Last but not least, the hot tub is a great addition to the experience. Highly recommend Made Inn! read more

Amazing, delightful experience from arrival to reluctant departure! The people - charming, kind, genuinely care about your comfort and needs. The home - gorgeous, eclectic, exciting, surprising, warm and welcoming. The food - YUMMY!! Generous, never ends if you are so inclined! My husband and I never stay at B&Bs...we usually prefer contemporary, modern, hip hotels. However, this is the coolest mix of old and new we've ever encountered. Linda and her sweet staff made us feel more than welcomed - we felt like we'd come to spend the weekend with our best friend, who just happens to dote on us, and is an amazing chef! Every detail has been considered and well-met with a dose of humor and true concern for the guest's comfort and fun! We can't wait to return! read more

Ahhhh what is there to say about Linda and her lovely inn...it's FANTASTIC! It is certainly not suited for conservative types. This is for laid back, free spirited folk who won't blush at hearing about sex, drugs and rock and roll. The living room was cozy and my boyfriend and I enjoyed grabbing a drink from the kitchen and reading the paper at night in our robes provided by Linda. The location was great...so close to town. We would've walked everywhere except we happened to be there when the windchill hit -40. Linda and her staff were great, amusing and welcoming. I hope to be able to return. And let me not forget about the true star, cutie Katie the cat. The cutest little fluff ball around. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights and wish it was longer. Our room was 903 which is the smallest (most cozy) room in this Inn and everything was wonderful. Our Inn keeper was charming and helpful. She generously offered us local booze and our room was stocked with delicious local snacks. There were old records and player in our room and games, movies, and music instruments throughout. The Decor was unique, hip, and fun. Bed was insanely comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. They catered to our special diet and we got to hang out with an adorable cat. Overall this place exceeded all expectations and I hope to come back! read more

Made Inn Vermont is awesome! Don't be scared away when you first walk up and it's not what you expect. We drove by the place twice before we realized where it was because there is no obvious signage, but you'll notice a small banner hanging from the porch if you look closely. You'll park in the side driveway but will need to enter from the front. Also don't panic when you get to the front door and aren't sure how to get in. No one responded to the doorbell and the phone number by the door only went to a busy signal, but we finally got an answer when we knocked. Also don't panic when you first meet Linda. She is as unique as the B&B itself, and the place and Linda can seem a little overwhelming at first. I say don't panic at all of these things, because if you keep an open mind and make it through the tour, you will have an amazing time!!! Linda is awesome, very attentive but also gives you your space. She gave us great recommendations on places to eat, and the rooms themselves were super cool and comfortable. Just enough space for everything you'd need. She also had the fridge stocked with REALLY good beers, even a really hard to find IPA, as well as a bunch of fun snacks which came in handy after a night out. And perhaps the best part was the breakfast! The breakfast special (a quiche made with real Vermont cheese) was the best quiche I've ever had, and I come from a long line of quiche makers. The Bellini and Mimosas were delicious as we enjoyed breakfast from the front porch. Linda also made the best coffee I had on my entire road trip of the northeast. I can't say enough about what a great time we had at Made Inn Vermont. We will definitely be visiting again, hopefully in the fall, and we'll definitely be staying with Linda! read more

In short, stayed two nights, parts of three days and loved it! Top 5 Reasons to Stay at Made INN Vermont: 1. Linda's hospitality (I will also add warmth and generosity) and Tracy's too 2. Facilities and location are perfect to everything in Burlington (walked to all) 3. The snacks and unlimited wine and beer (the Heady Topper was beyond terrific) 4. The breakfasts were delicious and their coffee is the best in Burlington 5. It is a different inn experience and a wonderful one that we will never forget.... We will be back soon! read more

My husband and I have been visiting The Made Inn since 2015. Each time we go I am always delighted as soon as we walk in the door. Linda remembers us and always makes us feel at home. We have tried a few different rooms and like them all. The rooms are clean cozy and delightful the entire inn is just decadent! From the old fashion yet modern bathrooms, the fun lights under the bed. Its a wonderfully romantic Inn , charming and cozy. We even brought my mom a couple years ago for a Christmas gift and she loved it. The gorgeous views of lake Champlain and downtown Burlington are seen from nearly every room! We have never wanted for anything at the Made Inn. We love to sneak downstairs late at night and enjoy the hot tub on the private terrace just off the dining room. Treats ranging from healthy to decadent are downstairs in the dining room along with a variety of drinks. The coffee is to die for! Breakfast is included in your stay and it rivals anything else you can find it town. We enjoyed sleeping in waking up to the smell of breakfast and coffee enjoying some conversation with Linda Park your car out front and never worry about moving it again while your there, the walk downtown is easy and quick although you might find yourself not even wanting to leave the inn!
