Back for seconds! My second time at Madeline's and the food was ON POINT. Empanadas are fresh and made to order. The new menus items are amazing. The Yuka nachos were Devine. Totz and fresh empanadas... the BEST!

Amazing empanadas! I had the Meek Philly, Jerk Rican, Guava Lava and Sweet Sticky. They all were outstanding, but those sauces??? Out of this world. When will they be bottled and for sale?!!?! If you haven't tried it - you need to.

If you love empanadas, you should try Madeline's! So my favorites are The "Rican Jerk," "Sweet Flame," "Meek Philly,"Yardi'" and the "Sweet Potato Cheesecake" the "Pastelon," "Sizzling Sausage," "Summer BBQ'" and Ropa Vieja" were also really good!! That's about half the menu lol so you get my point! Oh and the sauce... yummers! Finger licking good

What a great little spot! Their empanadas are fantastic, and we really appreciated the variety that was offered here. If we had to pick a favorite, it would be the Meek Philly! The banana pudding one was a great way to end the meal, and the touch of mozzarella inside was an interesting and tasty addition. Loved all our sides, and the Coca Cola wings were great! There is truly something for everyone here.

A friend of mine had recommended Madeline's on several occasions. Let me just say I have zero complaints. I ordered three empanadas- Rican Jerk, Meek Philly, and Yardi. All were delicious, but the Rican Jerk was by far my favorite. If you're looking for a small place with great food (and a limited selection of drinks) this is the place.

In a display of restaurant solidarity , they recommended that we try Vinas Wine & Tapas. As it turned out, we have a NEW favorite in New Haven! We arrived a bit early and were cheerfully greeted by Mike G, our server. The atmosphere was welcoming and relatively quiet, since their musical offering does not start as early as our 5:00-7:00 PM time slot on a Tuesday. We had asked for the waiter Christian because he had been mentioned in several of the Yelp reviews, but Mike proved that the service compliments should go to everyone. First, the tapas: We enjoyed all five of the tapas we chose. The "Calamares" were lightly battered and crispy. The Vinas salad was fresh, with tomatoes, cheese, corn, and croutons. The pork belly was delicious and more meaty than expected . The oyster mushrooms were presented with onion crisps. The baked birria empanada was stuffed with brisket style beef. Each of these "courses" was a unique delight to the palate, and for me and my partner, it was completely satisfying. In keeping with the spirit of a "wine bar," Vinas offered a flight of 4 wines in 3 ounce glasses, and after hearing about our food choices and wine preferences, Mike chose the wines for us, giving us a chance to taste some less familiar offerings. We had the Felino Malbec 2024 (Argentina), which became our favorite for its full-bodied and deep flavor. Our second wine was a unique Don Abel (private label) from Wallingford CT, made by one of the relatives of the owner, specially for Vinas. This one reminded us of the local wines one might receive in a B&B in the Loire Valley in France. The final two wines were both from Chile: Reserva Carmenere 2023 and Cabernet Sauvignon Marques de Casa Concha 2022. Both were excellent wines. It was great fun to have Mike choose the wines for us, and we really enjoyed the variety that the flight offerings gave to us. Of course, we had to try a dessert, and Mike recommended the Toffee Cake. We had heard that the owner claimed that some people cried with joy after eating it. Although we restrained ourselves, we had to agree that this was an extraordinary conclusion to a fabulous meal. Overall, this was a great experience for us, and we heartily recommend Vinas Wine Bar and Tapas for a relaxing and welcoming dinner. Some reviews I had read suggested that the portions were too small for the price. I have to disagree. My partner and I love food, and this was plenty. And the price was reasonable. Including tip and tax, we spent about $75 each.

The ceviche was excellent, everything was cooked throughout by the citrus. The portion size is small for $19 and it could have used a side of bread or tortillas to soak up the delicious citrus based broth. The skewers were also excellent. They were cooked perfectly, super tender, juicy and flavorful. They cooked them with a seasoning and had a delicious chimi on top.

Every time I wanted to eat empanadas, I had to bake my own, and I usually prepare only one flavor because it is a lot of work... Back home, I was used to order empanadas of many different flavors and get them delivered whenever I had guests or I didn't want to cook. I was so happy when last year I found out about Jackie's Empanadas On the Go! I immediately placed an order and went to pick up my empanadas from their kitchen in Stamford (not a front store). I ordered frozen empanadas to stock up my freezer. They came with baking instructions and they came out perfect! I loved her empanadas but driving almost 1 hour from New Haven is not something I can do often. Last week, planning for Thanksgiving dinner, we decided to order empanadas again. I ordered online and I contacted Jackie to arrange pick up and luckily she was going to be in a holiday market in Westport that weekend, so she offered me to pick up there, saving me some driving time. We ordered Mushroom, Caprese, Ham & Cheese, Beef Malbec and Knife-Cut Steak. They were all a success! Our guests loved them! Also, when I went to pick up the empanadas, I bought a box of Alfajores de maicena (cornstarch cookie sandwich filled with dulce de leche) and a box of Medialunas (Argentinian croissants). They were absolutely delicious!!!! I wish I lived closer to order more often, but I will definitely order food from Jackie's again!

CT has been in desperate need of argentine cuisine, as its had almost close to nothing in terms of options. Its always a drive to New York to fulfill those needs but not anymore! After going here with my family, its good to finally get some quality argentine barbecue with staples like entraña, Molleja, and choripan. Chimichurri Milford doesn't short out on our argentine staples and I definitely recommend trying it. Can't wait to go again!

We tried the beef and the spinach/mushroom empanadas, a chocolate filled pastry and the alfajores. The empanadas were the proper baked Argentinian version. I thought the beef was very tasty but it lacked the chopped olive I associate with the Argentinian style. La Portena had no complaints about her spinach/mushroom version. The alfajores came in three sizes, something I did not realize when ordering. I would not repeat my order of the large size, the ratio of cookie to filling being off. The medium looked about right. The best item was a chocolate filled pastry, similar to a croissant that I had the next day. Flaky and light, it revealed some skill in the baking.
