The original hardwood floors are gorgeous and the decor fits perfectly. Lots of drink option-I opted for a hibiscus tea that was great. Avocado, egg and cheese was wonderful with a unique, flaky croissant. Definitely recommend!

They offer them in several flavors, but apparently, the one to get is the Abe Martin Apple, which is stuffed with apple pie filling and topped with streusel. You don't have to tell me more than once to order a donut. In fact, I'm probably already eating a donut as you're recommending a donut, because I love donuts so much! This donut (volant) was great, but I feel like it's a whole other beast. It's more like a pastry than a donut. A delicious pastry, though -- don't get it twisted. And so unique! I think if you visit Brown County, you need to make your way to The Olde Bartley House to try a volant. The Olde Bartley House is also a coffee shop, so it has coffee in all its permutations. I opted not for a coffee drink, but for a Moonshiner: a sparkling energy drink. I chose the Tangerine Dream, which tasted like a melted orange creamsicle! I was hoping that it would wake me up, because I was seriously dragging, and it really did give me a little pep in my step. When I visited, there were plenty of tables at which to sit, and the space was calm and relaxing. I saw a couple of people working at laptops. I hung out in the dining room for a bit, enjoying the music they were playing over the speakers while I ate my volant and drank my melted orange creamsicle-like energy drink. (They were playing some good music, which is always nice.)

It's mostly boho and shabby-chic-style clothes in flowery patterns, flowy eyelet blouses, embroidered denim and lots of pastels, which is not my thing at all, but maybe it's yours? If it is, then you're in luck! This place has all of that and then some. Downstairs, there are lots of little gifts, knickknacks, trinkets and stocking-stuffer-type things. Sunglasses, lip gloss, funky earrings, bath bombs, journals and pens, books, home goods and lots more. There are also some Bible devotionals and signs with Bible scripture on them. I think Mulberry Cottage leans Christian, and what made me even more convinced of this is the music playing throughout the store (Christian music). This store also likes its signs: There are chalkboard signs with phrases like "Home is where family gathers" and "Bless our home" and other such anodyne phrases. This boutique is very colorful and cute, though. As soon as you step inside, you feel like you're in a special place, and I immediately wanted to take photos. The pastel rainbow-colored staircase leading you up to the clothing section deserves to be captured in a selfie, for sure.

I like that the furniture is locally crafted in Brown County and that local woods are used. And they even delivered my furniture up to Zionsville. Today, I stopped in the showroom to see what was new. I fell in love with the hickory rockers and matching pieces. Not only is the furniture beautiful, it's solid and well made. They also have a line of outdoor furniture that is so comfortable that I didn't want to get out. The clerks are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are in line with what I see from imported options. If you want quality (artisan) made, solid wood furniture, and shop local, I highly recommend Peter Grant's.

The Artists they promote still use perfect dove tailing, and tongue & grove, not a staple to be found. Even the mechanisms that elongate the table for use of it's leaves are sculptural. The Dinning Set I salivate over has a finish that feels like velvet. The Living Rm furniture that makes me quiver would be right at home in Barbara Streisand's salon (& everyone knows how picky she is). They also carry exquisite decorative accessories, hand thrown pottery, and some one of a kind jewelry. Theirs is the window I wish at most often, and never miss an opportunity to browse the shop like a museum.
