I absolutely loved this spot, and I think it was my favorite place for coffee and breakfast. The Olde Bartley House is charming; and the staff were so friendly!! These donuts are beautiful and delicious, and they had so many interesting flavors. They also have a wide range of coffee and flavors too. If you like specialty lattes, this is the spot in Nashville.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this GEM hidden in a cute touristy town in southern Indiana! I ordered a caffeine free iced tea (Elderberry Hibiscus) and my partner got a chai. Happy to see decaf and caffeine free options as not everyone can tolerate high levels, but still like to partake in a morning beverage. My partner can be picky about his chai, but he thoroughly enjoyed this one. I also ordered the Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich and just WOW. Melt in your mouth sugary flaky maple bread, and the mustard, aioli, and jam were a fantastic combination! I love me some sauce! I would eat this every morning for breakfast or lunch! Seeing how good my sandwich was, my partner, went back to grab an apple doughnut, and it was just as delicious! Parking on a weekend is basically impossible unless you pay. Friendly and fast service at a good price.

Nothing but kudos for this eatery. The location, the folks running the store, the decor and absolutely delicious breakfast sandwiches and coffees. Started off with walking in and seeing how quaint the decor of the inside is. Felt like being at an older relatives house where they have all the family history and pics up on the walls. Plenty of room and tables galore. Wander in and up to the showcase where we checked out the easy to read menu on the wall and the incredibly nice folks asking us if we needed any help or suggestions. Very talkative but not overbearing at all. Just very nice and never felt rushed. We order, go sit down and wait for our name to be called. The acoustics of inside were very pleasant. I am very soft voiced and tend to freak out if it's too loud in a restaurant but never had an issue because it's so quiet. We get our drinks and sandwiches. The sandwiches were in cardboard boxes which I personally think is a waste as I'd rather have a washable plate since we ordered to eat inside. I got the ham and cheese and the lovely Mrs ordered the avocado egg and cheese and these are served in their signature voilant which it like a donut and a croissant had a baby. They were soooooooooo tasty! Drinks were hog chai tea and the salt creek caramel macchiato. Again, everything was delicious and I'd for sure go again when back in Nashville, Indiana...

Great service, great coffee and great layered donuts So many options to choose from. I look forward to coming back many more times!

This place was recently renovated into an upscale coffee and donut shop, which was what Nashville needed! There are two separate seating rooms with plenty of space to sit without being crowded. It's a great location on the main road right as you come into town. Prices are comparable with all major chain coffee shops. But the difference is that here, you are paying for great quality! This is honestly the best iced latte I've ever had, makes me wish I lived closer! Donuts do not compare with chains -- much different shape & texture, but so wonderful! I had the lemon hibiscus and was impressed. Service was quick, but I visited on a Sunday afternoon. Clean & easily accessible restrooms are always a bonus!

Delicious coffee and volent donuts! Adorable coffee shop with great customer service. Somewhat expensive but definitely worth it.

Amazing coffee shop with Volants and sandwiches . These Volants seem to be a cross between donuts and croissants and come in many flavors. Not to be missed!

Raspberry truffle, peanut butter pie, smoked caramel, apple pie & Cookie Monster.

OMG! This coffee shop was recommended to us by Nashville business owners and it did not disappoint. These were not donuts, they are volants (different flavored, croissant-like, yumminess). We went twice. Their sandwiches are just as delicious. We had the Monte Cristo and a ham, egg & cheese on an everything volant. This will be our first stop on our next visit.

Another fun shop at the corner of S Van Buren St and Franklin St

It turned out, they had to make my iced tea special, because they weren't allowed to use the tap water because of some boil order that was established in the area. OK! I wish I wanted some baked goods while I was here, because this place has all of the homemade-looking baked goods. ALL of the staff members were so friendly and helpful with us trying to decide what craft we wanted to do. We ultimately all chose to paint and got to take our time- we were there for hours, but never felt rushed. They assisted us multiple times with finding paint colors or making ones that were a blend of multiple colors. You can also do candle making (which other people did while we were there), macrame, faux succulent planters, make your own water bottle, etc. I chose a mushroom planter and it turned out so cute! I put one of my pothos in it and it fit perfectly and now sits on one of my bookshelves. Two of my cousins chose to do different face/bust vases, my third cousin chose to do a travel coffee cup, and my aunt chose to do a trinket dish. All of their pieces turned out beautifully as well, but I didn't snap photos of those after they got them back. My aunt picked up my piece when she went back to get all of theirs and then I got it from her the next time I saw them, but you can also have it shipped to you if you don't live close by. The inside has a big shop area with decor, ornaments, etc and then there is a cafe in the back for coffee, tea, sodas, and little treats. If I didn't live an hour away, then I would be here every weekend lol Percy, the shop dog, was so sweet and was napping up by the register when we came in. My cousins are obsessed with him, so they even got a photo with him before we left. A true diva.

When I was there early in the morning, they were glazing all donuts to order. This location doesn't have the vegan/gluten-free doughnut (there's a sign on the menu that says "temporarily out", but they haven't carried it for at least a year). I got the cream & crimson donut, a strawberry jelly-filled donut topped with whipped cream and a strawberry syrup drizzle, unique to the Bloomington location. It was substantial! There was lots of jelly inside which made it pretty messy when coupled with the whipped cream on top, but that's not a bad thing. The donut was fresh and tender, and I really liked the unique texture, but I thought it was overly sweet. The jelly was very sweet and there was that syrup drizzle, plus the donut itself was rolled in sugar. I still enjoyed it, but it's like a once a month at most kind of thing for me. I would like to come back, just not too often. I got an iced matcha latte with my donut. This was a pretty decent matcha latte, honestly better than expected for a donut chain. It was unsweetened by default. The donut came in a paper box which was good packaging because it's relatively eco-friendly and protects the structure of the donut if you're taking it to go. I did see they had also had plates but forgot to ask for one. There's actually a pretty large seating area in the back of the shop plus a patio. The two workers there were helpful and friendly.

Anyway, it is a little out of the way. It's walkable from downtown but not really in the downtown core. Pretty quiet when I was there, but the atmosphere felt approachable. Some of the chairs were like school desk chairs (adult-sized, of course) that I haven't seen since I was in primary school which was kind of funny. The guy at the counter was cheerful and friendly. They looked like they had run out of some of the hot savory items by Saturday mid-afternoon, but there was still a wide variety of sweets. I believe the current owners are Indian, and you see some of those flavours featured. I got: Samosa handpie: Good, not mind-blowing, but good. Nice flavours. If you like a flaky crust, this is not it, but I liked the rustic pastry crust. Pistachio cardamom donut: Loved it. Before I moved to Bloomington, there were a few bakeries that offered vegan-GF cake donuts that I loved, and this was the first thing I've gotten here that reminded me of that. Pleasant texture and strong cardamom flavour, not too sweet. I think these are baked donuts, so they're a little different from regular fried donuts, but in a good way IMO. Rose dream latte: Milk with rose syrup topped with coconut whip and nuts, no espresso. Tasted great, but more of a dessert drink than I was expecting. The coconut whip was quite thick. The concept could probably use some refinement, because the whip was too thick and rigid to drink without a straw, but the nut pieces were too big to go through a straw, and so I couldn't figure out the best way to drink it. From what I understand, there are some longtime fans of this place who feel like the quality has dropped since the most recent change in ownership, but as someone who had never been here before, I really had a good experience. I get why people would be upset when something changes, but if you are considering trying this place for the first time, I wouldn't be too put off by the negativity around the change in ownership. There's no other place specialized in vegan baking in Bloomington, so I think it's good to support what they are continuing to do here, and even though I am partial to vegan food I wouldn't say that if it wasn't also GOOD. They also had some refreshingly unique options for baked goods.
