I wasn't super impressed by the flavor of the coffee but I added an extra shot at home and it was better so maybe add one when ordering. They use monin and it tasted almost sugar free but I don't think it was. The muffin and cinnamon roll both tasted stale and didn't have a good underlying flavor. The customer service was really subpar as well and the barista didn't seem to want to be there. A few people noted that's a common theme when they come as well. read more

Great local shop, coffee is really good. Only recommendations is maybe expanding the food menu in the future (maybe more options of bakery items) and having more food inventory in stock. Everything about Madilynn's Craft Coffee shop keeps me coming back again and again. I haven't been to a big coffee chain since I found this great spot! The service is always fast and efficient. Sometimes, the owner is behind the counter but most of the time it is the same, very friendly barista. Excellent choice of baked goods and pastries as well! I have been coming to this coffee shop since they first opened and they still have not let me down. The service is amazing! They are always so welcoming! The atmosphere is cozy and cool and a nice spot to just sit and relax. They have so many different beverages and my favorite part is when they come out with new coffees during the holidays. 10/10 recommend. :) read more

No acknowlegment since the staff was busy helping another customer. Thought it was weird but assumed that was the status quo customer service for the barista. Nope, after I place my order, a couple comes in behind me and she immediately says, "Be with you in a second." Hm. Another thing, during my order staff asks me if I want a 12oz or 16oz for my coffees. So wouldn't one assume that the latter is a large size? Next to the counter, in plain sight, is this "10% large drink coupon." So I ask to use the coupon with the 16oz. Barista says, actually our 16oz is a small. What, then is the large drink option? Apparently doesn't exist for my drip nor the latte. The saving grace was that the coffee was a coffee, I guess. read more

Stopped in at this corner shop for some coffee after brunch and was not disappointed! All the drinks that my party received were delicious (I tried them all). The staff was really nice and helpful when asking about what was in the latte! I got the Keke which was toasted marshmallow and vanilla (I believe, maybe check before you order it lol) was very tasty. Other girls in my party had the a coconut one, honey bee, and a fall seasonal toasted marshmallow and pumpkin spice flavor!! I am always on the search for a good cup of coffee and today I found another gem. Nestled just off of 13th street in St. Cloud you will find Southern Grounds in a shared space with a hair salon. With my newly shaved head I wasn't in the need of a haircut but I was in need of coffee. For a small space they have a great assortment of coffee options. I chose a Honeg Bee Iced Latte, which is local honey and vanilla. The barista was very friendly and quickly brewed my drink. It was sweet with honey and a nice blend of vanilla, which really hit the spot. I will definitely be back to try more of their drink offerings! Please be safe and enjoy! read more

I went here yesterday morning and loved it so much that I had to go again this morning ...except this time I left with a lot more . I just moved here and I've been going to Starbucks every day because I'm not familiar with what's around and I hate it so much. I don't even finish my drinks because I'm not a fan of Starbucks (for many reasons not only because they suck ) so needless to say, I was very happy to have found this cute coffee shop! When I first walked in, I realized that not only is it a coffee shop but the other half of it is a hair salon! I absolutely love the idea of that because I'm a hairstylist and I'm constantly running to a café near my salon to grab things for my clients, so what a brilliant idea! Then come to find out the owners of both businesses are actually sisters! So cute. Anywaysss.. I got a cinnamon bun coffee and and everything sourdough bagel, made from a local baker, and it was so good! Today I went back and ordered a mocha chocolate latte and a jalapeño cheddar sourdough bagel and it is delicious as well. Also ordered coffee and a bagel to go for my husband. Today they had a pop up shop happening selling things from local vendors and I bought a bunch of hand made Christmas decorations that the owner's mom makes and sells. New favorite place! One of my best friend had told me about this place. I had been meaning to come for months and one of my lunch breaks I finally gave in. BEST DECISION I MADE! I love this place, ever since going on my lunch break I haven't stopped. If you're in the area I suggest for you to stop by. They are conjoined with a hair salon but you can't even tell. First time here. I was greeted right away. The atmosphere was nice very cute quaint shop. Looks like it is connected to a hair salon. I asked for an ice macchiato, barista asked me for flavor and milk preferences. She gave me options, She was very sweet! I was in and out of shop within 3 minutes if that. OK I've been here probably three or four times and it's always cute sophisticated and just a whole different vibe kind of coffee shop. The coffee grounds here are homemade, not store-bought. Almost everything I've had has been delicious. Today I ordered the strawberry banana smoothie as I am six months pregnant and cannot have coffee. It was really good, had a great flavor & lasted me my entire hair appointment at the salon next-door. What's great about this coffee shop is it's connected to Salon Emvy, and they ask you if you were a client getting your hair done and if you are they will deliver it to you. That was an added perk! I'm kind of a "big city" craft coffee snob. So when I came to visit family in St. Cloud, I wasn't sure I'd find a local spot, especially after my non-coffee-drinking stepmom (who lives locally) told me to lower my expectations. But then...I found Southern Grounds and was more than pleasantly surprised. The coffee is fantastic and roasted locally. The owner knows her customers by name and makes every drink & treat with love. Every time I'm in town now, I demand a morning run to Southern Grounds for my large drip w/ cream and an iced latte (with the occasional bagel/muffin). Everything is delicious. Southern Grounds delivers an experience I never thought I'd be a part of; walking into a hair salon that has a legit coffee shop inside! Southern Grounds' portion of the space is very cute with a cool wood and southern charm vibe. I mean who doesn't love the option to buy a wood painted sign that says "come eat ya'll" while sipping some yummy coffee? We ordered coffee for a morning meeting. It came in a cute and not so standard coffee box, with half and half as well as whole milk on the side. The coffee itself has a wonderfully nutty flavor. Adorably cute little specialty coffee house in downtown St. Cloud. OPened since June of this year. They share a space with a hair salon next door that is run by the owners sister. All the wood art in the store is done by the owners mother. Very small with only one table and two high chairs inside. A few table are outside which is cute. This is cute right off the main corner, so there is a little more car traffic then I would like if seating outside but it does give you the hometown feel. Good sideways parking right outside the place and also many spots in the back. I went with the salty coconut because who doesn't love an almond joy in a cup. Great flavor. My daughter went with the smores. Again, smores in a cup. Yummo!!! Not too many snacks for sale but I feel it's about the coffee here (but they do have a few). Definitely with the trip. I live just a few streets from downtown & have been following this shop on IG for a months now. I finally got a chance to visit & was unfortunately disappointed in my first experience. The shop is very cute & the coffee was good. However, the customer service was subpar at best. Since it was my sister & I's first visit we wanted just a few moments to look over the menu, & I would have also liked to ask a few questions since I am on a dairy free diet. Instead of being able to we felt rushed by the barista & the 1 question I did ask she made me feel very belittled for even asking. She had a very condescending tone & seemed annoyed that she had to do anything at all. & on top of her bad attitude she was not even wearing a mask while making our orders or talking to us. When I first came to this shop I wasn't hopeful. It looks like a small place, and my mind didn't have great expectations for it for some reason. However, my walls were shattered by the fantastic decor, comfortable atmosphere, and great people working behind the counter. The drinks are incredible, and the people are just as lovely. I find myself at Madilynns 4-5 times a week now and every time I come in they are already making my drink because they know me so well. It's really amazing how such a big experience can be packed into such a small place. Could not recommend them more. read more
