I was in Orlando on business and had Vanessa's on my list to try. I stopped in for much-needed coffee and left very impressed. I ordered a cappuccino, orange juice, and a bagel sandwich with egg, sausage, and Swiss cheese. Everything was excellent. The cappuccino was bold and flavorful -- it really woke me up. The bagel was soft and fresh, and the sandwich was warm, tasty, and satisfying. The OJ was a nice touch for extra energy. The owner, Jessica, is from Puerto Rico (Boricua like me!), which made the visit even more special. You order and pay at the counter, then enjoy the beautiful dining area. It's welcoming with comfortable seating and a sophisticated white-on-black décor featuring inspiring messages about life and God's providence. This review is only regarding the coffee. The aesthetic: farm/barn vibes. There's plenty of tables, some accommodating up to six guests. The service was good; we were greeted immediately as we entered and everyone was so nice. We got the white chocolate strawberry and white chocolate lavender and white mocha latte. The white mocha did not have any coffee flavor and left a sugary aftertaste. The white chocolate strawberry had a light strawberry flavor which I appreciated but the coffee was very light and watered down. The only that was decent was the white chocolate lavender. Everything I said in my first review of this restaurant was true at the time. However, we recently made a return trip this past weekend, and I was so disappointed in the food and the 8% service charge. Keep in mind there was no service, we ordered from our phone with a scanned menu on the table and once the food is ready we were then called on the intercom to pick up the food. This is completely separate from the tip. Unfortunately, the same guava cheese french toast was terrible, the whipped cream has changed and the syrup came in an olive oil bottle, trying getting any syrup from the little tiny hole. We also had a breakfast sandwich on a croissant, which was very stale. I cannot speak to the staff as the only interaction we had was when we picked up our food from the counter. I think it you just want to relax and have a cup of coffee, it's great, otherwise not a good place for breakfast in my opinion. read more

We ordered Sunrise Tacos, 3 tacos with your choice of meat, scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, queso fresco, mayo-cilantro, avocado & sour cream. Also the Happy Morning, an omelette with your choice of meat and cheese, with a sunny side egg on top (love the double egg situation) served with a slice of french toast, topped with whipped cream, fruits powered sugar and small jar of nutella. This coffee shop was very cute, charming, and had an overall brightness to it. There was plenty of seating and had a set up that makes it easy to seat a party of 2 or a party of 20! The presentation of the pancakes was pretty amazing! However, the presentation of my omelette was underwhelming even though the food was flavorful. Come back to try their breakfast and it did not disappoint. It was busy but they do work fast. Staff is really friendly and attentive. Tried the Mallorca sandwich with egg and bacon and it was the perfect combination of sweet and salty. My husband tried the tripleta sandwich and that one wasn't as good and it lacked the meats. This was my first time here and will probably be my last time at this coffee shop in Lake Nona. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted although there were employees and no clients were waiting at the counter. When looking at the physical menus they had there were no prices to accompany the items. Moreover, I realized that they had a kiosk on top of the counter for you to order. Only when I started using the kiosk and was paying did someone approached and asked if I needed help. The space itself is super big and had lots of tables and seating options for solo and groups. This is perfect as they brand themselves as a Christian coffee shop, so if you have small group/Bible studies meet-up, this would be your place. The latte I ordered was a big disappointment. Christian coffee shop- Beautiful business with an emphasis on faith. I would come in with a small group or on my own to spend some time on a devotional, etc. Coffee is good. I tend to add a extra shot of espresso. I think the drinks can be sweet/take away from the taste of the coffee itself. Their food is great. Lots of variety. Good portions. Pancakes and French toast can also be pretty sweet and adorned with whipped cream, powered sugar, etc. Things that I would personally do without and opt for healthier options. We arrived around 6 PM and the place was practically empty, with only two customers having coffee. We purchased our drinks and sat down as a family. My child was quietly sitting in his stroller watching cartoons on a phone at a low volume. Even so, a relative of the owner (not a customer) approached us and asked us to turn the volume down because there were "customers" who were bothered by it. This was despite the fact that no actual customer complained directly, and the only other two people in the shop were having conversations at a similar or even louder volume than the child's device. We still complied and lowered the volume without any issue. The cashier who served us was very kind and polite throughout the transaction, which was one of the few positive parts of the experience. Another very concerning issue was the presence of a large number of flies inside the shop, especially around the pastry display. It was obvious and constant. My husband respectfully informed an employee about it, explaining that it could become a serious health concern if an inspection were to happen, and suggested they address the issue. The employee responded politely and took action. However, what was extremely concerning is that afterward, the owner's relative served cinnamon rolls to other customers that had been exposed to flies landing on them, which we found completely unacceptable from a food safety and hygiene standpoint. It is also important to mention that the owner was present during our visit. However, she did not acknowledge us at any point, not even a basic greeting such as "good afternoon," even though she walked directly past our table. That lack of basic courtesy was noticeable. Additionally, the overall cleanliness of the establishment was very disappointing. The floors were dirty, and the restroom was in truly unacceptable condition, appearing unsanitary and poorly maintained. In general, while the cashier was kind and professional, other interactions came directly from the owner and a male family member, who were the ones showing an unfriendly and unwelcoming attitude throughout the visit. The atmosphere of the coffee shop also strongly contrasts with its spiritual décor and religious messages displayed throughout the space, which makes the overall experience feel even more inconsistent with the values it appears to promote. Overall, it was an uncomfortable, unsanitary, and disappointing experience that did not make us feel welcome as a family. read more

It's a basic sandwich the powdered sugar was not evident in the taste at all so don't fret. On the menu is it called Mallorca (which is the bread for those not familiar). The grilled chicken sandwich however was OUT of this world delicious. Definitely share worthy or if you are hungry enough just for you. Lastly the classic French toast with eggs...oh my god that is another incredibly menu item to choose. The service was okay. No one was rude but the servers don't want to help you on the register as they are insistent on you ordering on the kiosk even if it gets busy. It was dead when we came in but noticing others as I waited for my food, the register never was used during the two hours I was there. The restaurant is a cozy but modern. There's many opportunities for a photoshoot both inside and outside of this restaurant. They have Bible verses written as wall decor in some areas and also a map of the coffee belt, which as a former barista, I thought that map was cool. A Big - WARNING & Caution right off the bat to all going to Vanessa's Coffee Shop. They have junk fees and hidden charges on the bill. First the good - the place is cute. They have a neat phone booth at the entrance where you can take a picture. Next the bad - the food and drink are not quality. Especially for the price, you can get better at most other places. Finally the ugly - They tag on 10% to your bill. A fee of 3.5% which they call a Surcharge, when asked they said it was for using a credit card. So beware if you don't pay cash it'll cost you. Next is a 6.50% fee called a Service Charge, no one could explain exactly what it's for but according to all the employees it's just a "required fee". read more

I went to Vanessa's coffee shop for a friends birthday and it was delicious! I got a coquito iced coffee and a Mallorca! The coquito cold foam was amazing and super unique, it was the perfect addition to the coffee. I also got a bacon, egg, and cheese Mallorca which was the perfect mix of sweet and salty, and the powdered sugar reminded me of being back in Puerto Rico. We went to the Lake Nona location and found parking relatively quick. There was a cute photo op outside but it was raining so we didn't get any pics. My friend got the Morning omelette which had bacon and egg and was served with French toast which was also super yummy and filling. We had gotten there relatively early so there were plenty of seats and ordered through the QR code at the table. I liked that you didn't have to order at the register. My husband and I stopped in for brunch today. It was our first time and I truly appreciate the patience from the woman behind the counter. We tried the pancakes supreme, avocado toast and a bagel sandwich. I had a white mocha and hazelnut hot coffee and my husband had a cappuccino. My coffee was awesome and we LOVED the pancakes. I've ordered the coconut matcha and it was very bad. Absolutely no taste of matcha and the coconut flavor just tasted like sunscreen. Really bad. I ordered a regular iced latte with some chocolate syrup and again, bad!! I ordered it with whole milk but it tasted watery and not creamy at all! And there was a weird taste/aftertaste of coconut water?? very strange. Okay, the only other thing I've ordered was a side of french toast, and it was actually phenomenal! Mine was definitely the best, the banana nut was okay, and my husband's was made incorrectly with what seemed like coconut syrup. The drinks were definitely good! Far from the best coffee I've had. We got the Cuban sandwich, avocado toast, and avocado brunch. The coffee was cheap but I did feel the food was overpriced, though it was definitely good!
