We talked through a plan together, and she explained that going from years of black dye to lighter hair would take time and patience, which I really appreciated. At my first appointment, she started the process with highlights to slowly begin lightening my hair. We achieved a beautiful caramel color that I absolutely love and that suits me really well while we continue the process of going lighter over time. My hair is also feeling healthy and not over processed after lightening, which was one of the things I worried about. She also gave me a haircut, which was a big deal for me because I haven't trusted anyone to cut my hair in years after a bad experience. Melissa really listened to what I wanted and gave my fine hair long layers that added dimension while still keeping the length I wanted. I'm so happy with the results and already looking forward to my next appointment with her to continue the journey!
