I promise I would give zero stars if I could. I have been sitting here for over an hour. I have grabbed two tickets, and neither number has been called. I watched almost every single person in their leave and yet I'm still sitting there with the same two tickets and the numbers still have not been called.!!!! I hate this place with a passion.!!! January 28, 2025. I arrived at 1:00P and was told they were not giving out any more tickets today. No explanation was given. The seating area was essentially empty as was the parking lot. The lady at the door told us (me and several other customers) to come back tomorrow between 8:30A and 4:30P. They are turning people away in droves. read more

got a number and almost instantly my number was called so I went back there. they proceeded to gaslight me into thinking my number wasn't called. waited in the lobby for another hour as everybody that came in after me where already done so I left place is a joke. read more

The Madison County Service Center is your one stop shop for car tag renewals, driver's license renewal, ALEA services, title, tax assessor and much more. This is one of the more efficient locations that I've been to. When you enter the building, you check in using the electronic kiosk that gives you a corresponding number in line to speak with the agent you need. If you're looking to get a STAR ID make sure you select ALEA services and not ID renewal. There's a large waiting room with plenty of seating. The wait wasn't bad at all. They recommend wearing a mask but is not required. I recommend bring a check book or cash. They accept debit cards but charge an extra processing/convenience fee. Conveniently located behind Publix on Hughes Rd near Old Madison Pike. You can enter from Browns Ferry or Plaza Blvd which also loops back around to Hughes Rd. read more

Although going to the dmv is always a dreaded experience - I have to say that generally this was a pleasant experience! I came to get a drivers license, the wait for this was quite long (50 min). That being said other people that were obviously there for something else were getting though very quickly - I think that the department I had to go to was maybe just short staffed. Despite the long wait, the seating was comfortable, the waiting room was by no means packed, and everything was clean and tidy. Most importantly the staff there was very pleasant and cordial. Although I'd prefer to avoid the dmv non the less, I'll choose to go back to this one in the future for sure! read more

This service center is less busy than the one located on Memorial Parkway. If you are on the western side of Huntsville, I'd recommend using this service center instead! read more

No wait time and very nice customer services. They took take of my registration of my new vehicle and bike within the limited time I had to come to the office due to my work hours. I could have my husband handle my situation using power of attorney. I recommend this office! read more

The ALEA office is ridiculously slow. I've been here 1 hour 30 minutes. I overheard a guy being here for over 2 hours and another person being here for over 3 hours. When those guys mentioned their wait time, they were told to continue waiting or they can go to the state office to make an appointment. This office was not busy so waiting this long is just poor. read more

Don't believe the hours. Have been multiple times and the tag office closes at 4:00 instead of the listed time of 4:30.

Appreciate that this DMV has chairs and used to have coffee in the lobby while you wait before Covid..I used to go in and had a pretty good experience UNTIL TODAY..May 31st 2024..they actually had a woman standing up front yelling at everyone like we were in elementary school...and when our number finally got called..we went to the first window on the side where the tax offices are and there she sat ..R U D E for absolutely no reason at all!..I swear I wasn't the one who pissed in her sweet tea today!..She had her fan and flowers and her hair split down the middle with two buns on her head ..we had a slight problem because they sent only one car renewal notice and we're renewing three..she sat there basically trying not to talk to us and I asked if we could get our tags synced in a certain order but she was being such the perfect a**hole that she didn't listen or just plain refused to do it ..Once again..People!!!!..IF YOU DONT want to work with the public..DONT get a job working with the public!..We're all going through things in life and for God sake ..all I wanted to do was get my tags ..She didn't even offer the type of tag I could get..but I'm already on anxiety meds and ppl like her is why most of us walk around with freaking therapy dogs now..Please do everyone a favor Lady and keep your shittiness to yourself!! read more

Best place I've ever gone for a driver's license update. I was called back within a couple minutes. I have been to other places where it took up to seven hours even to get to the window! This was a huge relief. read more

All I have to say is WOW! Let me tell you, if you need to get new or renew your tags or driver's license, THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME. It is no comparison to the experience you get going to the county courthouse in downtown Huntsville. This place has a large waiting room with chairs. They even have FREE coffee! When you walk into the door, you have to get a number from a computer screen. It asks you one simple question why you are there and then gives you a unique number depending on the business you are conducting. I got there about 9AM and there was no line. I didn't even have time to finish making my cup of coffee before my number was called. The people who work there are actually friendly here too. I think I will never go back to the courthouse again. read more

Horrible experience, they have total 6 windows but basically only 2 windows open. Waiting 2hours+. Staff was friendly.

First, let me say that I live in Madison, Al and am a retired veteran. Today, I wanted to register my new car, so I brought my old tag in which was a disabled veteran tag. The clerk stated that I need to bring a letter stating what my disability rating was. How does she think I got this tag in the first place. It appears to me and its not the first time I gotten a negative response from this office. They seem to go out of their way to make it difficult. There definitely needs to be adjustments made at this branch. They are awful and correction is needed. I find myself going to the Athens annex for things that can be done outside of Madison County. Something needs to be done about this office. Either close it or change the attitudes. Just an awful experience. They don't even earn one star, in my opinion. The staff always seems unfriendly and non-responsive. Several seem to have an "I could care less attitude". read more
