Or at least if you agree with my baseline assumption that alpacas are maybe one of the greatest things to ever exist. Okay, perhaps I'm being a little overzealous about the alpacas. But seriously, this is a really fun way to spend an hour or two, and it doesn't cost much. There's a cute little store where you can buy all manner of alpaca-related merchandise. You know like sweaters, hats, stuffed alpacas, magnets, dish towels, alpaca-scented candles, or whatever the hell they sell in little stores like this. It's fun to browse, but the real attraction is outside. Walk up to the counter, throw down five bucks, and they'll give you a Ziplock baggie full of little alfalfa nuggets. Then you head outside and walk next to the nine huge pens full of alpacas and feed those little bastards. And it's hilarious. They're cute in their own weird way, and they'll come right up to the fence and eat straight out of your hand. Their crazy prehensile lips take some getting used to, but keep your hand flat and they won't accidentally take a finger with the alfalfa. They're actually remarkably gentle. Although some of them are total pigs. Those are my favorites. They'll follow you around, shove the other alpacas out of the way, and basically behave like they've been waiting all day for you to show up with a Ziplock bag full of snacks. Eventually you start noticing that they all have different personalities, which somehow makes the whole thing even more entertaining. My gosh. Best five dollars I've ever spent. I took my 20 year old daughter and she had an absolute blast. It was just something we did to kill some time while we were up visiting Crooked River, but it ended up becoming one of those unexpectedly great little memories from the trip. So yeah, highly recommended. Go check them out. Give them some money. Support the ranch. And enjoy the alpacas, you crazy person.

All of these planes (and there are a LOT of planes) are in flying condition and they take them out and fly them on occasion. If your schedule if flexible, give them a call to see when they will be flying and maybe you can witness that spectacle! I…read morewas so surprised at the review and I didn't think it was fair that they had such a low rating based on a single review and I wanted to even out the playing field. I have not been to the pumpkin patch, so I can't speak to that. My relationship with DD Ranch has been as a buyer of grass fed local meats. I have been purchasing from them directly on their website and found them to be very responsive and professional. I picked them after I went to Locavore and tried a steak from every grass fed vendor to figure out where we wanted to buy our meats. I think their beef is delicious and well packaged in butcher paper for the freezer. I'm so happy they are available for our area and will continue to support them and their family for a wonderful product and excellent customer service. Thank you!

There are over 1500 Alpacas making it possibly the largest ranch in the country. We enjoyed her store afterwards and had a lovely picnic lunch. Her Alpacas are so cute and we got to enjoy holding one, kissing a couple, and saw a newborn Alpaca ( 2 hrs old)... we learned a lot and have fallen in love with Alpacas!!

Set among the Smith Rock State Park and monkey face rock sits this impressive ranch/development. It's a private gated community that boasts gorgeous views of Oregon's high desert combined with magnificent Tuscan style homes. The scenery here is one of a kind and it only got better as the sun began to set, colors changing and shadows enhancing the views and landscape. The wedding was held outside at "the stables", a rustic looking building with a small fountain out front and endless views of amazing, pristine natural beauty. I really enjoyed the architecture that's subtly dotted through out the community. The lot sizes are spacious and each home is so unique...no cookie cutter track homes here, lol! As if that weren't enough, there's plenty of ponds, lakes and rivers to fish... My dad pulled 14 fish in less than and hour w my kids! Needles to say they had a blast, EPIC! There's endless trails to hike in the area, both by foot or by horse. If you're looking for a wedding venue, this was an amazingly special locale. We felt blessed to be able to share such a special day with family in such a beautiful place. Props!

Hard to give a single rating for this. Totality and the minutes leading up to it, extraordinary…read morelife experience. BUT, we were crammed into a 15x15 patch of grass for a campsite, which also included your vehicle. Flat rate of $150 for 5 nights. My Cherokee and tent almost filled the entire spot, only a few feet from neighbors. Everyone I saw and met were wonderful people, all here from long distances to have a life changing experience. But there were no markings on the "streets", hard to see at night which one is yours. Only 6 outhouses nearby, with long lines, scant toilet paper, and nearly filled on Monday. Heaps of garbage bags, essentially no garbage containers. Non-potable water was $1 PER GALLON, complete ripoff. No place to dump your grey water. No shade. Shower trailers such a long walk that I did not bathe for the 2 nights I stayed. Significantly, I never used my shuttle pass, both times on Sunday the buses either never appeared, or we were told "shuttles are cancelled, go back to camp." Could never use my Festival ticket. T shirt I ordered online weeks ago never arrived. Though they did charge my credit card. Food stands in the grass area were pretty good, hot air balloon rides (tethered) looked fun. Had heard the Festival itself was small and overrated. They charged $50 EACH for passes to the "kid's" area, which was also apparently not worth it. Madras ppl were very nice, but the venue was not well run. Well worth doing, but I felt taken advantage of, charged a lot for rather little. Some of the above are observations, not entirely complaints. Not sure how anyone could manage an event of such uncertain parameters.
