Last year our tickets were in the Founder's Circle area, and that part of the venue is amazing! It is pretty chill and if you want to sit outside of the venue seating area, there are options. Getting things from the concession stands are easy and hassle-free. The people that work at the Fred Kavli Theater are so nice and go above and beyond. Some are paid and some are volunteers. Last year I lost a piece of a ring and Kelly F. found it! I got to see her again this past week (July 2026) and thanked her again for going above and beyond. (I also sent emails to several folks at "toaks.org" email addresses to mention Kelly and two other great ushers for their help...I never heard back from anyone.) For parking, you might be able to find something on the street. Otherwise, it is about $16 cashless (credit/debit only) to park. There are a variety of show types that play at this venue. I really love the locations, the ease of getting in/out, and the seating options. I look forward to my next concert early in 2027!

However, tonight was different when I attempted to buy tickets at the box office. The woman working the box office was clearly purposely delaying opening the screen for me to pick my tickets / seats and allowing time for the other ticket sales person next to her to give the good front row seats to two groups of people in the other line. When I confronted them about this and asked why I was not offered the front row seats even though I was in line 1st, they got completely unprofessional and were clearly saving the good seats for their friends further back in line. Then they told me it was better to sit in the back row anyway because I had kids with me. I am giving this three stars because the facility/theater is very nice, the winter musical was a 5-star experience. However... last night's experience was a 1-star experience because the ticket sales people were very rude and the customer service was lacking. I'll definitely go for other shows, and always will buy my tickets online to avoid interacting with the ticket sales people. As a side note, the ticket sales people were adults, not high school students.

The customer service was extremely poor and the staff were very unprofessional and unhelpful. Instead of trying to assist customers or explain things politely, they created unnecessary problems and made the entire experience uncomfortable. The theater itself did not feel clean or welcoming. The place smelled unpleasant and did not look well maintained, which completely ruined the experience. The food was also very disappointing. It was dry and tasted like it had been sitting there for a long time. For the prices they charge, the quality should be much better. What disappointed me the most was the attitude of the staff. Customer service here is honestly some of the worst I have experienced anywhere. Instead of making customers feel welcome, they make you feel like you are bothering them. Overall, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. I will definitely not be coming back, and I strongly suggest others think twice before visiting this location. There are many other theaters where you will be treated with respect and actually enjoy your time.

Thanks to Fever, we heard about the Rat Pack Holiday Tribute show, which is right up our alley, so we got some tickets. It was a challenge to find out about the theatre and the difference between a regular ticket and a VIP ticket. We were told VIP included parking (we just parked for free on the street), a free glass of wine (not a bad wine, served in a plastic cup with a straw), and guaranteed front row seating (no one seated us, but we did sit in the front). Super tiny, only about 40-50 people, so it's an intimate show. It also got pretty warm in there, so dress in layers and be prepared for that! Out on the deck/patio, they have tables chairs for before and during intermission (though it was chilly outside that night). This is also where they have concessions (water, beer, wine and a few snacks like cookies, candy, etc). The entire staff was very kind and the show was great. I also got to pet one of their ponies on our way back out to the car. We joined their email list and, depending on the show, we are likely to make our way back to the Big Oak Little Theatre!

One of the best Nutcrackers I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of them by some big name companies. I'm going back again next year and I'm talking my friends along with me. It's the perfect way to introduce kids to dance, ballet, The Nutcracker. Tickets are very reasonably priced. On certain weekend the company brings in world class dancers from other companies to dance the lead with their dancers.

As a woman working long hours in the DTLA area, I especially appreciated the onsite security services -- they were attentive, well-informed, and knew exactly who was scheduled to be where and when. The parking facility felt secure, and lobby security's control over the main elevators added an extra layer of safety and organization. The vibe of the entire site felt professional and well-run, with a clear focus on keeping things efficient and safe. Would definitely work here again.

The security guards an amazing, professional and very nice. Walking towards the doors to the lobby you can see police signs from certain tv shows and films that are produced there. Inside the lobby there's comfortable seating, a television and then it's the concierge desk. If you need the elevator the concierge will help you get to your destination. After talking to the concierge I didn't need the elevators. I just had to walk through the lobby and when you exit you are ground level where there's signs for what production is filming in a specific stage. The stages are huge and it's amazing the creativity some of these tv/film/commercial companies can construct: a mini mansion, basketball court with bleachers and event the inside of a courthouse to name a few. When evening falls you get a beautiful view of downtown Los Angeles with all of the sky scrapers nicely lit up. The inside of main building is very fun with healthy motivation statements in the stairwell, the hallways have fun 1980s style carpeting and the walls/doors are bright and colorful. There's a fun buzz of hard working production staff getting ready for filming and the cool chill ease from the students that are taking classes here. Los Angeles Center Studios has filming opportunities, meetings, fittings and also host social events like Black On The Block. Which is like an independent flea market and networking.
