We had to leave Magenta, which was a shame because the doctor (Prasad) was excellent. Magenta's system was a deal breaker. it's impossible to book an appointment without having to wait 2 months, there's no help from a human being, and there's no phone number to even talk to a receptionist for admin issues. in fact, they intentionally keep you from calling or even reaching out via email. It's as frustrating as an app that hides their cancelation button. I understand the approach for a normal for profit business but not for a clinic. we moved to a normal clinic where you can email them directly and /or call if you have questions; basic interaction is all we wanted. Hopefully Magenta can change their approach; it's not the pandemic anymore read more

The doctors there are amazing, but the administration is like a brick wall between you and the doctors. You can't even give your Doctor crucial information about your care. The website directs you to use electronic communication and then refuses to let you use electronic communication. The very clear email won't be answered and even when you call their number they won't talk to you. read more

As can be seen from Magenta Health's ratings, doctors are generally rated highly (I rate my Dr. Molly Gamble and her alternate 5) and the Magenta Health interface repeatedly is shown by the ratings to not be fit for purpose (1s) - a rare pattern in my experience. I am tech-literate and have no issues going onlone for bookings and research. Twice I had an urgent but not emergency issue (turned out to be a very painful 7 cm Bakers Cyst in one case and a lower left quadrant pain/chills which turned out to be appendicitis). In both cases I repeatedly could not get through to my doctor by the online portal, email, and phone. The online portal is a Catch-22 - pick a time slot but I couldn't and tried again to get into the same loop (see image); at one point it said I was not connected with the doctor who is my doctor; emailed at one point and did not get a response; the automated acknowledgement email said wait for two weeks and after that if I hadn't a response, try again (!!). It seems unlikely that the portal was never well user-tested - maybe understandable at the start but certainly unacceptable now as from the ratings, it seems clear that Magenta Health does not take seriously the difficulties patients are experiencing. I even tried messaging through LinkedIn where the response was Go online and oh, we didn't know this messaging was live and so we've cut it off(!!). read more

I love this clinic and all the doctors I have had (Dr Siao, Dr Bain). No - this clinic isn't for everyone and I think that's okay. If you like chatting with people and talking on the phone, you won't be happy. But as others have said if you like using technology and efficient systems then you'll love it. I also appreciate that I have always been very well supported with my mental health issues and that's definitely not common. read more

I have tried to get on the Magenta list for a doctor about 2 years ago and they told me there would be a 1 month wait. I got back to them after a month. They seemed really annoyed that I was following up. I then found another non-Magenta doctor (now moving away unfortunately) and advised Magenta to take my name off their list -- at which point I was offered an appt.! Now, our doctor is moving away and I am again trying to get on the list at Magenta. I have registered 2x, a second time as they did not respond to my first attempt to register - however, they did send my husband an email confirmation shortly after he registered. Not sure what is going on at Magenta, but very unimpressed with their failure to acknowledge my registration. read more

Impressive care and service at Magenta Health (Riverside site, Toronto) by their health care. Appointments are easily booked online through their booking portal and are prioritized appropriately based on the request. The team respond to emails thoroughly and in a timely way. Checking in to the appointment is seamless with an iPad. As a health care provider, I can attest to the thoroughness of the care provided by Dr. Anna Piekos in the past 7 years since I became her patient. Keep up the great work! read more

I didn't know healthcare could be like this! Finally, a doctor's office that lives in the 21st century. No calling. No walk-ins. Everything is booked online through a booking portal. I can have virtual appointments with my doctor for things that don't require an in-person visit. And I can email my doctor questions and updates in between visits (and she actually responds). Dr. Mitsuki is very kind and knowledgeable. It looks like some other reviewers think younger doctors are a minus, but for me it's a huge plus. Having a doctor around my age who has read a medical journal in this century gives me a lot of confidence that my concerns will be properly addressed. If you don't like technology, you won't like Magenta. But for those of us who do, it's life changing! read more

Worst clinic ever. It's cold and callous they make you jump through fire burning hoops to talk to a human. There is never appts available you have to schedule your needs and Illness around their two week wait time. Hours are horrible so if you work look forward to losing time at work. Lastly and the most important piece is their lack of support towards women and their rights. My young daughter requires internals for a medical issue and we signed up with a female doctor. She left the clinic as she felt she could service patients better on her own and moved to Markham - well we got pushed to another female doctor who has now gone on mat leave like almost immediately upon taking the account and now they assigned her to a man. We nicely asked to be reassigned and we were told no by a rude and condescending email from their office manager. They think it's okay to force a young woman to deal with a man she never intended to deal with or signed up for. Also basically told us we would never find a doctor and implied we were lucky to be there- the best thing we could have done was leave that clinic. She now has a female doctor you can actually get an appt with and interact with. RUN FAR FROM THIS PLACE read more

Dereliction of care. There is no secretary which makes the level of care unsafe. They do not return calls so you are stuck waiting for days to fix prescription issues. They pride themselves on technology but they don't even check emails. Don't trust your family's health with Magenta. It is not worth the risks. Please stay away at all costs. The WORST! terrible customer service, oh wait - NONE! You can't call the office, speak to anyone and every email is automated and it takes FOREVER to schedule an appointment. They say there are same day appointments but there aren't and the doctors are not very competent. Leaving the practice and wouldn't recommend to anyone. So convenient. Online booking, email correspondence to not waste time. Very efficient. From what I understand, they're funded differently than traditional medical clinics, in that they don't earn a per-patient fee and instead are funded annually, so they can afford to do things like develop an online appointment booking feature on their website, and not waste patients' time by requiring they come in to deliver a sentence of a message. They're very modern. Sign-in is done by the patient on tablets, and a bell dings when it's your turn. Super impressed by how technologically advanced they are compared to other medical clinics. I also really like my doctor. Knowledgeable, always helpful, listens. Young, friendly staff work here. The place is spotless clean. New facility. Love the branding. I find I've been talking about how awesome this place is since I joined a few years ago that I had to write a review. I really hope Ontario gets more of these sorts of clinics. I love magenta Health _ it's the only doctors I have been to in Ontario with reasonable wait times. You can get last min appointments online with your doctor for urgent appointments or with another doctor in the office if yours is unavailable. Pros: online booking system, emailed test results, urgent appointments, short wait times, IPad check in, clean and modern. Nice looking clinic, but really disappointed. Booked a new patient in-take appointment, arrived early to fill out the paper work and then left sitting in a patient room for 20 minutes waiting and wondering. When I asked if the doctor was backed up I was told that she was still with a patient and that it shouldn't be too much longer. That's code for I have no idea when the doctor will see you. I took my paperwork and left. Medical clinics really need to understand that patient's time is just as valuable as theirs. It's high time that we can bill them for missed appointments. read more

This was a pretty cool experience. There is no traditional receptionist, and instead a few Ipads you sign in with which prompts a real person to come give you forms. Your name then shows up on the big screen TV estimating a time. An automated voice then calls your name and directs you to the room.. very futuristic. I actually prefer the efficiency of this system rather than lining up and dealing with a grumpy receptionist. As for the doctor's visit, Dr. Andrew Chou was amazeballz! This was an initial consultation, yet he took his time to really get to know my situation and provided a lot of information specific to my needs. What I also appreciated was that he was very knowledgeable and caring about mental health issues, and was able to recommend alternatives to medicine, like smoking cessation and stress reduction programs. I completely disagree with the 1 star below. I am a new patient with Magenta, and after spending a decade out West where finding a family doctor is near to impossible, it was a breath of fresh air. In the last week since I have had my patient in-take appointment, Dr. Che has got all the testing ordered I need for paper work for my paramedic practicum, and in the following two appointments I will be caught up on pretty much everything I could need health wise after a decade of walk-in clinics. Most efficient doctor/medical experience ever. And, once again referencing the comment below... While I haven't had to wait, as is mentioned on their website, they pride themselves in punctuality, but occasionally a patient may need something urgently addressed and their appointment can run longer. I would much rather have to wait a few extra minutes, than know that if I have something important going on medically they're going to kick me out before it's fully addressed in order to stay on schedule. read more

Magenta Health is a really efficient and high-tech office. You book your appointments online and sign-in at the front desk via tablets. All patient resources can also be found online, which is helpful. And, bonus, the most I've ever waited for an appointment is 15 minutes (which is pretty impressive for a clinic). Doctors are busy people, and so even though appointments can be quick, I feel like Dr. Che has always been personable and understanding. She really listens to your concerns and you feel like you're in good hands. Highly recommended! read more

Through my experience, I have found that magenta health runs with excellent precision. Their online booking system is excellent as is their in office administration. Everything operates with fluidity. Dr . Chou is punctual, friendly and helpful. He always returns emails in a timely manner. We did not have a positive experience with Magenta Health. They do not have a receptionist, which means you cannot call to speak with a human, and other specialists (i.e. ultrasound techs) cannot call to confirm important information. The online booking was nice, and I appreciate that they responded to emails, but not having a human to talk to often complicated simple requests. Dr. Winnie Siao would likely be fine if you were a typical patient, but she made our pregnancy more stressful with misinformation and a poor bedside manner. We were very happy to be referred to a high-risk specialist (although, it turned out our pregnancy was completely normal and did not require a specialist). Hopefully, as she gains experience, she'll be able to better assist pregnant patients. We moved to Sumac Creek Health Centre run by St. Michael's Hospital and have been very happy with the move. read more

I agree with the other reviews. This was supposed to be a modern clinic that leveraged technology to solve problems with the traditional model - unfortunately they failed at being human beings, failed at being sensitive to my medical condition, and failed at being timely. The physician I saw completely lacked any bedside manner during my new patient intake. She was so condescending she explained how a medication I've taken for 8 years works. She may as well have explained Tylenol & Advil as it was clear her head was still in medical exams, she completely lacked empathy, and was disinterested in providing any type of medical help. Moreover she belittled & escalated my medical condition by being confrontational. This treatment was worse than any public ER in Toronto. I definitely left feeling worse than when I entered however it motivated me to go to a walk in clinic around the corner for a renewed prescription. It was worth the wait at a busy walk in clinic to be treated like a human being seeking help for an ongoing medical condition. I am shocked to see any 5 star reviews on here. read more

I love Magenta, after seeing a more "traditional" doctor for most of my life, I was used to being forced to go to a walk-in when I was actually sick because it was impossible to get ahold of/get a last min appt with my family doctor, I haven't been to a walk-in in years, I can always get a last minute or urgent appt at Magenta when I need it. With my crazy work schedule the online booking is amazing and much easier than going back and forth with a receptionist. Dr Piekos is not only my doctor but my 4 month old infants as well, she's amazing. I drive from the west end of the city to Magenta and it's totally worth it. read more

The future is here! Magenta Health is a high-tech, paperless medical clinic in Riverside. All the appointments are booked online and communication is done via e-mail. I was glad to see they were still taking in new patients. No receptionist to deal with or calling-in to see when your doctor is available; as a patient, this information is available to you online. Once a doctor has been assigned to you, an introductory meeting takes place where the patient and doctor decide together if it is a good fit. At your in-clinic appointments, patients check in on a tablet, and immediately, your name appears on the dashboard showing the approximate wait time and room number assigned. I'm so glad that I became a new patient of Magenta because Dr. Cristina Musngi is a wonderful doctor! She's very caring and never rushes through the appointment. She's very holistic in her approach. Probably quite different from other practices you've been to, Magenta Health is a very modern clinic with passionate staff. A neat feature is after registering, you can book appointments online and they have evening clinic hours if you need to see someone right away as well. I had an awful experience with Dr. Marco Lo. He dismissed my symptoms and suggested it was psychosomatic. He also suggested I take a SSRI for anxiety or depression when I was not depressed or anxious. I was completely appalled. I could not believe he could be that insensitive and unprofessional. I basically told him that if he hasn't walked a day in the shoes of someone with a chronic illness, he really shouldn't imply that it's psychosomatic. It's actually distressing to know that doctors like him exist and are actually content with their practice. I would never ever go back and would pray that someone reads this message before deciding. If I can do that, I know I took the time to write this post for a reason. read more

Super organized and efficient - you sign in with iPads at Reception, appointments are booked online, and communication is done via email. Wait-times are never long (like they tend to be at the usual clinics/doctor's offices, even with an appointment). My husband and I were both looking for a family doctor, and after a lot of research and searching around, we signed up with Dr. Matthew Cruickshank. He is the best! Thorough and informative without being pushy. We're expecting a little one in March, so we're really happy we found such a great family doctor who we feel very comfortable with bringing our baby to when the time comes. read more

Dr. Chou is amazing. Attentive, communicative and cares ! Yes my doctor is young but the fact that he doesn't rush through the appt like most older doctors do and is patient and caring makes up for it. I've been coming here for 2 years and I love it. Appointments are booked online and you can see the doctor's schedule. Super easy once it's set up. As for some of the complaints on here about the receptionist. Newsflash ! they don't have one ! hence the reason everything is done online. If you're old school and not willing to change then stick with the old fashioned way. read more

I've had absolutely wonderful experiences since joining Magenta. The after-hours urgent care appointments are so wonderful when you have babies/toddlers who develop things quickly. It's great to not have to drag them to a waiting room anywhere where they are surrounded by other germs. All the doctors have been great. They are professional but casual and accessible. Be very wary of Magenta. Regardless of their tech and online booking systems they don't understand what it means to have a checking out doctor meeting - ie: getting to know if you get along with the doctor before you sign up with them. Be very careful what forms you are signing before you see such doctor. If you do not get along or like the doctor in your meeting you are out of luck to see if there is another doctor that is better suited to you. And don't take any employees word for it, as the company doesn't back up what their employees say to you. In other words, you only have the option to see one doctor that you may not like or that the hours of operation may not work for you. Unfortunately, the way Magenta runs it really isn't feasible to do a proper introductory meeting. As a citizen - remember that you have the right to have a meet and greet and refuse to go with that said doctor. This facility doesn't permit you to see anyone else - so you get one chance. Also, be aware of the legal signing that happens that says you are not permitted to go to any other clinic. This has been happening all over the place in Ontario with tons of doctors. So please be aware of your rights. read more
