Some hairdressers may want to get you in and out of the chair as soon as possible, but he really takes the time to make sure that you get a good haircut. Several times he will look from multiple angles, press my shoulders down evenly to make sure things are symmetrical, and then make little adjustments here and there. He is also chatty if you feel like talking, and otherwise more reticent if he senses that you want to keep to yourself. I always forget to bring cash, but if you pay cash and not credit card, you get a discount!

I said yes and my hair is super healthy right now. He spent a little over 45 min cutting my hair. He blow dried my hair in between my cut to make sure he knew what my hair would look like "styled". I appreciated his detailed approach. One thing I will note is that they are very straight forward with their service. English is not their first language. I am not saying they are rude (please don't misunderstand) but they are clear and concise. Make sure you have an idea of what you want and I think you will also enjoy your experience. The chairs we sat in were covered in towels, who knows if they were clean. My massage was just ok, My husband enjoyed his foot massage, he said actually "that was great" I was not keen on the rubber gloves and massage cream that kept drying up on my skin. Unfortunately, I had a very negative experience with the Chinese gentleman at the front desk, who I believe may be the owner. Before leaving my house, I carefully counted my cash and brought the exact amount needed for the massage. When I handed him the money, he did not count it in front of me. A few seconds later, he came back and claimed that I was $10 short. I am certain I gave the exact amount, so I believe I was unfairly charged an extra $10. The situation felt dishonest and very upsetting. In my opinion, he handled the payment in an unprofessional way, and I felt as though I had been taken advantage of. Guys be very careful when paying cash make sure to count in front of them before leaving the counter. On the other hand, the female receptionist I spoke with was kind, polite, and helpful. The hair cut was fine, It was nice and clean, can't really complain because I've got long hair. It was the colouring job that they completely botched. I had Grace who was a really nice lady and I enjoyed our conversations but my hair was seriously bad.  I wanted a medium-ish brown hair to replace all of my black asian hair so she suggested we should go a colour up because of it. Unfortunately she didn't think to counter that by going a shade darker on the top of my head, as the heat activates it faster. I find this AFTER the fact. So she used the same colour for my entire head. The result? I have random light brown and medium brown and BLACK hair still on the top of my head with the remaining of my long tresses as the original. None of the colour stuck to my hair except my scalp. So basically I have a reverse ombre. Ain't nobody got time for that.   She told me that it should wash off a couple of times and that if my hair doesn't settle with the colour, to call her back. Okay, kudos to retouching my hair if it doesn't "wash" off. But how is the lighter colour you put on my BLACK hair supposed to change it? Needless to say, that was a moot point. And.... I am not going back for them to do it again for fear of more problems.  The salon is old-school, so most of the clientale are the same ladies from 30 years ago probably. Guess their hair is easier to manage? They also have hairdressers that don't work for the salon but rather rent it out so they can bring their business there. The lesson of the story? Don't ever jip on colouring, just pay that $150 dye job, at least it'll be done right... hopefully.
