It is very uninviting from the outside because you can't see inside the windows. I almost skipped going in but after looking at some photos online I was curious and decided to check it out anyway despite my negative first impression. The aisles are filled floor to ceiling with books arranged by categories. After looking around for a few minutes I wanted to ask about prices so I went to the counter where an older lady with bleached blond hair was working. I inquired about how much the books cost but she gave a vague answer that they are different prices. I tried to dig deeper to find out how I would know what they cost. Where they marked or did I just have to bring up the book I was interested in to find out? Before I finished she cut me off with a rude "I don't have time to price all of these books!" I felt like I was asking a fairly simple question but she made it clear that I was irritating her so I left. My encounter here was very strange because typically everyone I meet in Port St. Lucie are delightful. It was one of the reasons I came her to shop on my day off. I was hoping to grab a few books but I know a lot of other friendlier and more welcoming places to spend my money.

This bookstore is pretty typical of smaller stores but has a nice selection of science fiction and fantasy including some old British paperbacks of sword and sorcery and several Chris Bunch novels I wished later that I had bought. A lot of paperbacks showed wear on the spines, as if they'd been read and returned a few times, which is cool. The clerk was friendly. The prices were a little higher than I expected on some used books but not enough to deter me from making a purchase.

His son Evan, who has helped three of the four times, is what every parent would want their child to grow up to be. He's a very hard worker, very personable and professional. And I might add, very tall! I've also had the pleasure of meeting the mighty Carmen, one of John's employees, who was equally as kind and professional. It was nice to see the rapport between John and Carmen. My takeaway is that he treats his employees well, which is important to me when doing business. In addition to his moving services, John purchased jewelry and coins from me at a fair price. With the number of services Abbey Rose provides, John has a wealth of information which anyone would benefit from while moving or downsizing, or just looking to selling items in your home. This was such a fun stop on a recent trip to Stuart. They rent space to different vendors who set…read moreup their own cutely decorated sections so there is a huge variety of antiques, curated thrift, furniture, art, jewelry, vintage, boho, and coastal decor to discover. I had fun exploring several rooms of art, furniture, collectibles, home goods, clothes, jewelry, decorations, and much more. There were so many unique and show stopping pieces. I loved the sweet botanicals at the Enchanted Forest, an Egyptian sarcophagus and chest, a playful monkey crawling across a bar, and the vintage cookie jars and glassware. The prices seemed very reasonable and the lovely ladies who were working were on hand to help but also left me free to explore as I prefer. The person working was friendly and extremely busy. I bought a few comics from the 1990s and sealed baseball wax packs from the 1980s. If there is something you are looking for don't hesitate to ask. The back room is more like a traditional thrift store with furniture, art, home goods, and collectibles. I was told that they are getting rid of the thrift side so that they can use the back room for storage so if there is something that catches your eye they are probably willing to make a deal.
