I visited Magic Cleaners (12700 SW North Dakota St, Tigard, OR 97223) today, June 10, 2025, around 6:30 PM, and I left the store completely shocked and heartbroken by the way I was treated. I only went there because my regular dry cleaner was closed -- I wish I hadn't. I brought in a simple, modest dress and two men's blazers. I asked the woman at the front about pricing. From the start, she was cold and unwelcoming, but I stayed polite. When I showed her the dress and described it as "simple," she immediately dismissed me with a condescending tone: "This is not a simple dress." I still asked for the prices. The quote for the dress was much higher than I usually pay, but the blazer prices were more reasonable. I told her I'd pass on the dress and just move forward with the jackets. At that point, she offered me a discount -- I politely declined and explained that my usual cleaner charges around $9. That's when everything escalated. She began yelling at me: "No! Impossible! Nobody charges that! I'm not doing this!" Then she said, "How about you take the jackets too?" and aggressively removed all my items from the counter and shoved them into my arms like she was throwing me out. I didn't say a word -- I just left in silence, feeling completely disrespected and humiliated. I couldn't sleep that night because of how she treated me over something so minor. I hadn't been rude -- I simply chose not to do the dress and shared what I typically pay. As a customer, I have every right to choose the price point I'm comfortable with. Instead, I was yelled at and kicked out for expressing that. And as a visibly Muslim woman, I can't ignore the fact that her tone and behavior made me feel completely unwelcome and judged. I strongly felt discrimination in the way I was treated. I'm not just leaving this review and moving on -- I will share this experience everywhere I can, because no one deserves to carry the heavy, broken feeling that woman left me with. I can't speak to their cleaning, but I needed a zipper repaired on my favorite jacket and this place is right next to my job. A gentleman helped me for over 10 minutes explaining zippers to me while attempting to fix it for free. Once he realized this was impossible, he took it off my hands and explained his pricing scale. The BEST Dry Cleaners I have ever used. Been using them for almost 8 years now and have not had 1 bad experience, period!!! Everything always comes out perfect and I'm quite picky. This cleaner has been acceptable for shirts and slacks, but I recently had a poor experience with them on a slacks repair. I have had a pair of slacks for 10 years when the zipper gave out on me. I took them in for a zipper replacement, which cost $20. I wore them twice and the new zipper pulled apart. I was miffed but gave them a chance to fix it. It was to be for no charge. The day after I dropped them off, I got a call from the cleaner who told me this wasn't something they repaired and didn't look like her stitches. She asked me if I brought in a different pair of pants, which I assured her I had not. But she kept insisting this wasn't her business' stitching and I must be mistaken. I wasn't. Five minutes of this and the lady, whose name I didn't get, finally agreed they would re-replace the zipper. They did. I've worn them twice and so far so good. Overall, I just didn't care for a call that implied I was trying to pull a fast one when the first repair failed almost immediately. I might go back again but it'll be awhile before I give them another shot. read more

Magic Cleaners has been the choice of my family for as long as I can remember. Since joining the military every time I come home if I have uniforms that need care I go Magic Cleaners. US Navy dress uniforms have very specific creases that must be pressed in and I have never had any issues with the care and level of detail they achieve. read more

2 shirts ruined, both with weird splotchy yellow stain and one with a hole ripped in the back of the shirt....I have no idea what caused the yellow stain, as all 3 shirts were put on the same shelf at home before taking them to the cleaners and I certainly did not wear white dress shirts with large yellow, splotchy stains on them. But I can't blame the cleaner without more info. But the hole in the back of one of the shirts was just plain destruction. These are not threadbare shirts. I guess I should just be happy they didn't charge me for the destroyed shirts.....I won't return. read more

Have been paying for their services for the past 2 1/2 months. Service has been steadily declining. When items are dropped off, pick-up time is given. Show up to get items and they are not done/ready. Pressing is not consistent with previous pressing. Woman in charge is rude and unprofessional. Strongly DO NOT recommend. read more

I had an amazing backless dress I was going to wear, but the elastic holding the dress together snapped completely. I took it to this place to get it fixed. Instead of putting a new elastic band in, which apparently would be too expensive according to the lady here, she added in a hidden zipper. She also pressed the dress. It looks amazing! They got a persistent stain out of a delicate sweater. Other dry cleaners weren't able to get the stain out. Prices are extremely reasonable for the amazing service they provide! I will go back here for all my dry cleaning. read more

I took a beautiful vintage Kimono there. It had details on it that the cleaning process took off. They lost half of these details and still demanded I pay them. On top of that they more than a little accused me of bringing the piece in damaged already. My feedback was they needed to examine the piece first and at least find and repair the pieces they damaged and lost. I left the piece there for them to try and repair; made yet another trip over there. Result-they made absolutely no effort. And STILL DEMANDED I PAY THEM! I said no, paid half, because I'm a wimp. I would not go to these people, they have sub-zero professionalism, they're just out to do a half assed job and get your money for not doing the work that you were paying them for. read more

I just finished reading the reviews about this dry cleaner to find out if anyone else had a similar experience. One reviewer states that upon pick up of her garments, there was a stain on an ivory coat, which was not there when she dropped it off. According to this customer, the owner initially refused to re-clean the coat unless the customer paid AGAIN to have it done. The experience that this customer had, is similar to the experience I just had on Saturday December 10th, 2016. I go to this cleaner because of the location to my residence. In June of 2016, I took a pair of workout leggings in to have the waist taken in and spoke to the owner, who is a Asian woman. All it entailed was simply folding in both sides of the waist and sewing a diagonal line across, to narrow the waist. Very simple, and couldn't have possibly taken more than 5 minutes to accomplish. I believe she charged me $15.00 dollars for this. Fast forward to Saturday December 10th, 2016. I returned to the cleaner with my leggings because one of the seams that she had sewn to take in the waist, had come out. The owner was not in, and the woman at the counter said she would be in at 1:00pm. I returned with my leggings at 1:30pm and saw the owner at the counter. I explained that she had taken these leggings in at the waist for me and and showed her the seam that she sewed was coming out. She looked me up on her computer and saw that I had brought these leggings in back in June 2016, and then refused to fix her work, stating that "this was long time ago, you had too long". I dont wear these leggings more than twice per month, and when I do it is for 1 hour and , I am not overweight. I asked her "you dont guarantee your work?" She just said "sorry". I told her that I shouldnt have to repay for work that was not done properly the first time. Again, all she said was "sorry" , "sorry" as I walked out the door. I told her that she wasnt sorry, and that I will never be back to her business. Please dont take your clothes here for repair or dry cleaning! If there is ever a problem, I can assure you, it will come out of your pocket to get it fixed. Very poor business practice, greedy woman, no idea of what good customer service is. Unfortunately the previous reviewer is spot-on about this place (no pun intended). I have dropped my dry cleaning off here a few times over the past couple of years, as they are close to my work. I've never had a problem with them, and although they aren't the friendliest to customers they did an okay enough job with the few things that I needed cleaned from time to time...until TODAY. It is standard practice for a dry cleaner to hang the items for the customer to inspect, upon pick up. This allows the customer to inspect the dry cleaner's work and make certain that things are clean, and that there is nothing wrong with the garment. So, I went to pick up my three items that I had dropped off last week: a black Blazer and two wool pea coasts-one ivory and one black. We go through the usual process, and the lady hangs my items up for inspection. I look over my ivory coat and find a small grey spot right on the front of the coat. Since it's ivory, it's not difficult to identify stains and spots on this coast; plus, I had just bought the coat and dropped it off to be cleaned, prior to wearing it, so I know that this spot wasn't there prior to dropping it off. I pointed this out to the lady who was working at the front counter, expecting that any decent business would then re-clean the coat and get the spot out, since it was something that appeared after dropping it off. Boy was I wrong! What ensued was a 15 minute struggle, whereby the lady told me that I would need to pay for the coat, before they tried re-cleaning it (making no guarantees that they could fix what they had already damaged). I explained that I was happy to pay for my other two items, given that they were clean and damage-free, but that it didn't make logical sense for me to pay for the ivory coat, when it clearly wasn't clean yet. Mind you, I've never ever pre-paid for an item at this business, and have always paid for my garments, upon pick up after they are clean; so why then, would I pay for a garment that I wasn't taking and that wasn't cleaned properly? After going around and around in circles, she finally conceded, and said they would try re-cleaning the item that they has clearly damaged for free (how nice of them!). Then the apparent owner came walking through the door, and when her employee told her what happened she began yelling in broken English to her, while there was a line of customers inside. She then snatched my coat off the rack and proceeded to try and spot clean it, and when she couldn't she stormed out and yelled that she couldn't get it out, and if I couldn't deal with it, then that's just the way it was. Wow, what fine customer service! I couldn't believe it! So now I have a perfectly good ivory coat with a grey spot on the front caused by this business, with no sort of attempt at accepting responsibility for their mistake, no attempt at making amends. The ironic twist: the hangers that my garments were hanging on say, "We LOVE our customers". Yeah, I don't think so. I will be avoiding this place like the plague. They have horrible customer service and pricing-and if they ruin an item of yours, don't expect them to try to fix it. Do yourself a favor and do NOT take your dry cleaning here-EVER! You'd be better off taking your clothes to a laundromat! read more

I was very disappointed, to say the very least, when I brought to the owner's attention that my expensive white blazer was ruined. The white blazer had been cleaned and sitting in my closet for a couple of seasons. When I brought it back out in the spring time, I had noticed that the coloring of the blazer yellowed. But it wasn't just yellowing of the fabric, it looked like old coffee stains in big splotches all over the jacket. When I brought this up to the owner, she put me off as if I brought it in with the stains already on the jacket. I assured her that I would have remembered spilling coffee over a piece like that. Then she tried cleaning it again and when it didn't come out, she changed her story about the discoloration. After going back and forth several times, I didn't get any where. Somehow it was my fault - that I had put the stains on there. She did not offer to comp dry cleaning or pay for my jacket. Saddest thing was she didn't even offer a simple apology. After spending quite a bit of money at this institution and not garnering any respect as a customer, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I would suggest NOT using this cleaner just out of sheer principle. read more
