The work was sloppy and wasn't what we agreed upon…read more The worker got angry when I expressed that the work wasn't right (I didn't say it was also sloppy because he was visibly angry and I was by myself). He told me that "I didn't know what I was talking about, that the work was good and he wasn't leaving until I paid him or he would put a lien on my house!" I decided to call his boss (by the way the worker lied and claimed he owned the company) to tell him what happened and that I wouldn't pay the worker but, would pay him after we talked about the incorrect repair work, as well as a resolution. The boss (who gave me the initial estimate) apologized for the worker without taking a side, acknowledged the work was wrong, not what he quoted me for and promised to personally correct it along with do an additional repair that we would be pay for when its all done. As a means of good faith I paid P&P Carpentry cash for the incorrect initial work based on their promise to make it right at a later date. We attempted to coordinate a repair date for months and the company was responsive during that time. We finally set a date in October and they stood me up. I have not heard from them since and my attempts to reach them have gone unanswered (it's been two weeks since our scheduled repair date which is plenty of time to touch base with me). The sudden 180 by this company is surprising being that we've been communicating for the past five months but, at the end of the day they accepted my money and breached their verbal contract with me. Work was done, just not the agreed upon work and they know it. If you have had a positive experience with them, I'm happy for you. To be honest, I wish they had just followed through which is why I've waited so long to share a review

Carols was the only one that wanted to do it in person so he could be as detailed and precise with the quote. Gave me a quote Monday and started work on Tuesday. I feel if I had gone with an another person they would not have seen that it needed extra prep work prior to painting and the walls would have had rough spots and lines. Carlos and Carlos Sr. Worked on the project and got it done quickly but correctly. We a super happy with results and cost. After quoting me a very fair price to paint the porch, we found out it had been previously painted with a commercial grade and highly volition Rexthane paint - this turned the job into 4 days of prepping, sanding and painting with a crazy toxic paint. Cons: Lacks attention to detail, will not fix imperfections just paints over it (painted over prior painter impressions instead of sanding first, painted over/damaged our new outlets/switches, left drips and bubbles everywhere. After having him come back to touch up the imperfections and hearing excuses and shifting blame on pre-existing imperfections or contractors not prepping properly, we knew we weren't going to achieve the level of work we wanted. Ultimately, we paid him the balance owed. However, we asked him for a quote for the rest of the house to compare rates and gladly hired another painter to fix and repaint almost every wall (absent ceilings). We are now very happy with our current painter. This only proves that we weren't the only one seeing the imperfections. We received higher quality work for a more competitive price.
