Alright... so apparently my wife and I accidentally peaked too early on our honeymoon entertainment plans. We went and saw Bart Rockett's Magic & Comedy show today in Destin thinking it would just be one of those "tourist trap, kill a couple hours, maybe laugh once or twice" type things... Nope. Somehow this man managed to put on a show that both of us honestly thought was BETTER than Mac King's comedy magic show we JUST saw in Vegas recently. And that's not me being dramatic for a yelp review or anywhere else I share -- we walked out genuinely shocked at how good it was. First off, Bart is hilarious. Not the awkward "dad joke magician" funny either. Legitimately funny. The kind where you're laughing because he catches you off guard every five minutes. Then out of nowhere he starts doing ventriloquist bits that I swear deserve their own show by themselves. We were dying laughing. But then the magic itself? Actually insane. Not the cheesy "pick a card while I distract you with jazz hands" kind of magic. Multiple times we just looked at each other like: "How the hell did he just do that?" And what made the whole thing even cooler was how great he was with the kids in the audience. We didn't bring our kiddos on this trip, but every single child there got involved somehow. You could tell he genuinely enjoys making kids feel included instead of just using them as props for the act. Honestly, next time we come back to Destin, bringing the kids to see this show is already on our list. The biggest surprise though? After the show we got to talk with Bart for a bit, and the guy is just ridiculously humble and down to earth. No ego. No "performer persona." Just a genuinely kind dude who took time to talk with us, joke around, and make us feel appreciated for coming. That stuff matters. Anyone can learn tricks. Not everyone can make people feel welcomed and give them a memory they'll actually talk about the rest of the trip. Hands down the best money we've spent all week in Destin on our honeymoon. If you're debating going... go. Seriously. 10/10. Would happily get my mind blown again. read more

The most amazing magic/comedy show! It was way better than I thought it was going to be. This was way better than watching others on tv. I'm still in amazement of how he linked my titanium wedding ring with the other two. Really! There's no possible way he can "open " my ring that fast without a laser or something. He really is amazing!!! I got the sock of magic last night, from the magic shop, more for me than our 7 year old Grace. Well, she got up this morning and started "performing " for us. She made moms coffee turn from liquid to solid and was so happy. He gone way beyond instilling the curiosity of magic into both young and old. He has made me feel like a little kid again! Watching his show is like going back in time to when everything was possible. This was the most amazing part of our vacation! read more

First time to a magic show. Magic? It was much more than that. The illusions were incredible, then the ventriloquism and comedy mix were totally enjoyed. Took my brother that had just been released from the hospital, it made his evening and more to me. I look forward to a return visit. read more

I booked VIP to a show. The week before the show I received notification that Bart Rockett would not be in town but that another performer would be there. Vouchers and drinks were offered. When I arrived for the show none of the previous mention items were offered. My group was set to the far right of the stage and did not have a full view. Our seats were rather distant from the other attendees and we didn't seem a part of the audience. The show was ended early so that we could go watch fireworks. However due to weather the fireworks were postponed to another day. Upon leaving the studio the curtain rod that hung above the door fell and hit me in the head. Another guest picked the rod up and the lady working told him to just put it on the floor. I contacted Bart Rockett ticket office privately to express my disappointment. I received no response. I was and am not asking for anything but wanted them to know some issues with their business. The show and the experience were not worth the money I paid. I would not recommend this show. read more

Meh. Decent magic, ok comedy and good ventriloquist overshadowed by constant advertising for a local aquarium and his own kids. If he stuck to a real performance it would have been just OK, but with the over-the-top ads it was not worth the time or money. read more

Great show! I've paid 4x the price for a show not as good in Las Vegas. My kids, 3 and 5, also enjoyed it - they both want to be magicians now. I do agree that the part where he talked about his kids and showed their work didn't really fit into the show; however, I can relate to being a very proud parent. read more

Great show! He is absolutely amazing. My daughter and I were both called on from the audience and even though we both changed our minds on what to say at the last second, he still knew what we were going to say...even before we did. The ventriloquism was very entertaining. And the magic just blew our minds. If you have a chance...go see his show. read more
