My full-length winter parka got badly damaged on one side in December 2014. This was so disappointing because it was a new coat and incredibly warm and winter was just starting. Given the extent of the damage I wasn't sure it was salvageable. It took a few months but I was able to get a new panel from the coat's manufacturer (Vaute Couture in NYC vautecouture.com) and Magic Tailor did the repair so expertly that you'd never know it was damaged. I'm so happy I'll be prepared for another polar vortex next winter. The customer service at Magic Tailor was great too. They were friendly, explained what needed to be done and why it would take a bit longer than their usual jobs took (not a surprise to me and completely ok given what needed to be done) and reviewed the work with me when I picked up the coat. I'll be returning for future repairs. If they can do this complicated a job so well I'm confident they can tackle less extensive ones easily. read more

Best tailor I've come across in Toronto. Over the past 5-ish months, I've had the following done at Magic Tailor: Dress Shirts - Darts added Dress Pants (including a few pairs of Wool dress pants) - Shortening - Removing pant cuffs - Tapering - Waist adjustments Coats - Peacoat made slimmer Each time the result has been perfect. There was one time where I dropped off 3 pants and one of them wasn't fixed (they had forgot to do it) but they apologized and fixed them for me for when i went a few days later. I also had a pair of wool dress pants done where I had the waist taken in - the seat of the pants didn't look right when i went to pick them up and try them on, but they fixed that for me within 5 minutes, on the spot. I was a bit wary when I came to them during my first visit as I had little knowledge of shirt tailoring and didn't want to fork out a lot of cash (tailoring can be quite expensive. However, I can honestly say that Magic Tailor lives up to their name. I have tailored 4 shirts with them so far, and have been satisfied with each one. I usually spend about $40-$50 per shirt to adjust the sleeve length, slim the sides, and dart the back, but it is worth the investment. John (not sure how to correctly spell his name) and the older gentleman (I think he is the owner) take care of their customers' needs. I just brought in a jacket with a zipper that was no longer catching. I had brought the coat somewhere else first, and received an expensive quote that would not be ready within the time needed. At Magic Tailor, the gentleman at the counter identified that the coat could be easily fixed and did it on the spot. Most of all, he was extremely friendly! My experience at Magic Tailor was very positive. I will definitely go back! They are a bit hard to find, particularly as the building is under construction, but worth looking for! read more

These guys are awesome!! I brought in a high quality suit I had just bought, it needed a lot of work to fit me properly and they worked magic! They let out the jacket and pants and it fits perfectly and they did it within a very short period of time for me. Got a super expensive dress shortened here - couldnt be happier. When I picked it up it looked like they hadn't done a thing, but the dress was in fact shorter. Perfect stitching. Would definitely only go here from now on. Also, while waiting for me my bf noticed the kind of clothing that other clients were bringing in - it was all high-end suits. Needed a last minute alteration on my husband's business suit. He had an important meeting the next morning and he brought the wrong suit to Toronto. Magic Tailor was wonderful and accommodating of our circumstances, worked hard to get us what we needed and gave my husband the perfect fit! The best tailor in the neighborhood hands-down. I've been coming here for years, and as others have said, the service is great and the quality of their work is terrific. That's because owner has a true pride in his craft. I bought two off the rack Michael Kors suits from Macy's in the U.S. I took them to Magic to be altered. What I experienced was amazing Customer Service and amazing professional adjustments. The best! Brought in a pair of dress pants a day before a wedding I was to attend. Not only did they do an unbelievable job fully tailoring the pant, but they had them done the same day! I took my skirt in to have the zipper replaced. The skirt was a mess, and the zipper was so mangled into the fabric, that I didn't think it could be replaced. I was pleasantly surprised as the zipper was replaced, and works so well. The repair was done expertly and I would highly recommend this business. Great customer service. I went in to get 2 two-piece suits altered and they did an excellent job. I had to go back a couple of times for a remake on the Jacket Sleeves but they nailed it nonetheless! Traveled an hour and 1/2 to get to this store because of the reputation. Took a bag in with a very complex zipper system that was broken. They were able to fix the bag and put new zippers on. I am a fan, and am taking a leather jacket in soon to have another zipper replaced. read more

My one and only tailor in Toronto. They alter suit jackets, fall and winter jackets just as well as simple trouser hems. The younger gentlemen that work there are really nice as well. I'm always confident taking my stuff here. read more
