My Grandson is autistic and attended this daycare. When my daughter first placed him there we did not know he was autistic. Needless to say they were horrible towards him. They never took advantage of a teachable moment either by trying to encourage him to interact with the other children or by encouraging the other children to include him. They took my daughters money through out COVID to hold his spot while they were closed, but when they re-opened they called her daily to tell her how he was inappropriate and didn't belong there. He is two years old. The lack of compassion for a little boy who cannot speak was heart breaking and infuriating to me. I am in the medical field as is my daughter and I have never seen such cruelty. The state should be involved in assuring all daycares private are safe and appropriate to care for our children. Please send your children elsewhere. All children need to learn compassion, empathy and kindness and they won't learn it here. read more

We have been at Magical Beginnings River Academy for over 2 years. My son has been in the infant room, toddler room, and is just now starting in the pre-school room. We have had nothing but a WONDERFUL experience here! The center is well run and immaculate, the staff is enthusiastic, caring, and engaging, and the curriculum is age appropriate. Having come from a family who ran a private day care center for 20+ years, I have a very high standards for where I would send my son and MB ticks all of the boxes! My son has THRIVED - MB has been supportive of him and have allowed him to learn at his own pace. He was involved with Early Intervention for the first two years of his life and even tested out early, given the support he received at MB. The daily actives are varied and keep him excited and he comes home eager to tell us about his day. MB staff and director have been supportive when we have concerns and have addressed our issues professionally and efficiently. We did have concerns about the wide age range in pre-school, but we are finding that the older kids are a wonderful influence on my son and that he will learn so much! The teachers also share the activities for the Pre-K kids in the room and we are looking forward to when my son wants to participate! The owner and administrative staff are very unprofessional and disrespectful. They do not care about your children, they care about making a profit. My 2 children were there for 2 years. Everything was fine for the first 1.5 years. Then there was a revolving door of teachers in one of the rooms and chaos ensued. All the parents noticed changes. We asked for a meeting when we noticed changes in our son's behavior during the teacher changes. The owner admitted that they put an inexperienced teacher in the room which caused the problems and said "Well its hard to find qualified people with what we can pay them". After that point my son continued having problems. We had 2 more meetings and nothing was ever done to help. Their suggestion was to bring an iPad from home so they could give it to him when he was having trouble. The other problem was that the older class has kids from 2-5 years old in the same class. The older kids have no real curriculum to get them ready for kindergarten. We were told that we "try to put the older kids together for an hour a day" but we found out this happens more like once or twice per week. After my son was sent home for acting out I called and asked why. I was lied to by the administrator who obviously didn't speak to the teacher about the cause of the dismissal. When I followed up with an email, I was again blown off when trying to get to the bottom of it. After I sent a 2nd email with no response, my wife went to pick up our other son and was brought aside, handed our other childs belongings and was told that we were no longer welcome at the school and they were going to call the police because of the emails. Meanwhile they are currently adding a new room to the school. If they "can't find enough qualified teachers" to fill the classes they have, then why are they so worried about adding more rooms? There are much better options out there than this school, especially for kids getting ready to enter kindergarten in the next year or so. read more
