All children were listed as unaccompanied minors, even if their parent was traveling as a chaperone, making checking in very difficult and stressful. They also never told us that upon arrival we should be checking in directly with an attendant, as they should have our boarding passes preprinted for us, which would have saved over two hours of time at the kiosks. When the return flight was delayed and we had questions, the person assisting us was dismissive and stated 'they can help you more when you get there, so you'll have to wait'. Unless improvements are made to customer service, I would not recommend this company for group travel, especially with minors, as nearly every step of the travel process was made more difficult.

There was no follow up email when I failed to provide her with my payment info. Also when she originally booked the flights the return flight was for the 16th which would have brought me back 4 days after graduation, something she was made aware of. Luckily one of the students going on the same trip noticed and had her change it. Overall I'm pretty upset and I really hope that people who travel with this agency in the future won't have to spend hundreds because of a few miscommunications.

We loyalty booked following a wonderful stay at Beaches Turks & Caicos last fall. After Hurricane Melissa impacted the area, we notified Modern Family Travel on the evening of Thursday, October 30 that we wanted to rebook for February 28-March 7, 2026. We followed up on Friday, October 31 after almost 24 hours with no confirmation. The owner, Velia Kennedy, replied that she was on hold with Sandals and would send an "update ASAP." I then received only a "safe travels" message at 9:02 AM on Saturday, November 1 -- less than 24 hours before our scheduled departure -- with no confirmation of the rebooking. At this point, I was livid about the lack of urgency around this situation. Modern Family Travel's lack of urgency forced me to engage another travel professional to secure the new dates. Then, Beaches Negril gave us a $200 credit for being inconvenienced by the resort closing for 6 weeks. Modern Family Travel never refunded us like they were supposed to. We had to wait until we checked in at the resort for them to call and get our refund to find out that velia took 10% of our refund and we were only getting $180 back.

On a recent trip from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, we stopped at the Valley Forge Travel Plaza as…read moreour last stop before arriving at our destination. It was a quick stop, but I had a positive experience overall here. The Valley Forge Travel Plaza is one of 17 stops along the famous PA Turnpike, which connects the state from east to west. It is located in Wayne, just outside of the Kind of Prussia area around eastbound mile marker 324 (only accessible via eastbound lanes). There are currently 3 storefronts in the space, and 2 of those are open 24 hours. It includes a Starbucks, 7-11 Convenience Store with Made to Order Food, and Sunoco-branded gas pumps. The building itself is open 24 hours for the use of facilities and gas. There are plenty of parking spots here. Along with the gas pumps, there is a private parking lot on the side of the building, as well as some spots along the perimeter. You will have no issue grabbing a spot just a few steps away from the entrance. Since this is a smaller plaza, there is not as much seating as some of the others along the Turnpike. However, there are several tables situated in the middle of the building, along with some seating specifically within the Starbucks. Also, there are several outdoor tables to utilize. I stopped here on a Saturday in September, a little after 12:00 noon. There were travelers both at the inside merchants and outside getting gas, but it was not overly crowded at all. Since this is one of the last stops before entering the Philadelphia area, I can see how this would be a busier rest stop at certain times. The facilities were overall very inviting and clean. I liked the different design elements of the stop, especially the high ceilings. There is a lot of natural light that compliments the yellow paint colors very well, and does not make it feel dingy or dirty. Additionally, there is fun decor on some walls to pay homage to the area, as well as different brochures and informational literature about the area and the state that are complimentary. Just outside of the bathrooms are some water fountains that are free to use. The restrooms were clean, no complaints there. It is clear this rest stop is well-maintained and cared for. Obviously, with this rest stop being on the Turnpike, the prices are a little higher than if you went to your local shop. I did not think they were too crazy, though. This includes the gas, but that is the price you pay for traveling this road. Likely, you will not be visiting this rest stop if you are not intentionally traveling along the Turnpike for one reason or another. However, if you do find yourself on this stretch of road heading toward Philadelphia or anywhere east, this is a quaint and quick place to stop. The facilities are well-kept, and there are some options for both food and drink, though limited. Overall, I would recommend stopping here in the event you need a break from the road, a convenience store stop, or a little bit of gas to get you to your final destination. I will likely stop here again on my next trip across the state.
