I start off by saying this is such a cute little shop. The server was relatively nice. Let's get into the food. I ordered a French toast latte (hot) for my drink. It has no flavor aside from cinnamon. It was just hot milk & cinnamon. I added a little sugar & it helped. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich & soup of the day for my entree. I unfortunately sent it back, due to not enjoying the taste. I was excited about the soup because I was told it had chickpeas. They were not cooked properly; chickpeas typically are best a day later, although I didn't see the chickpeas.. it seems like it had lentils that weren't soaked long enough? Unsure, regardless I was not a fan. I decided to still eat here & ordered the pecan crusted grilled chicken salad. Absolutely DELICIOUS! It was such a fresh & tasty salad. If coming here I would highly recommend this! I would not recommend any of the pastries. The apple danish was slightly underbaked. I know with wet apples, the bottom can sometimes not cook all the way, so at least this one would be a no. Flavor was ok, but texture was off. I also order muffin with carrots, raisins and I believe cinnamon. I do not recommend this either. It was too heavy & not cooked well enough. Because of everything in it, it was still a little too wet. The top of it was too heavy in cinnamon, as well. Overall, if on the hunt for a salad please try this place. Wow! Magnolia Café was exactly what we needed in Beaufort. After a disappointing hotel stay, this place totally saved our morning. The staff was incredibly friendly, and we were seated after just a short wait. The café has a cozy, welcoming vibe and a beautiful view of the marsh--such a perfect setting for breakfast. The food was delicious. I loved the Greek yogurt bowl, the sourdough toast was perfectly tangy, and my vanilla latte with almond milk was so good. My husband's breakfast platter was a hit too. Loved this cute little bakery, cafe, brunch spot! You can get a view of the waterways of SC from the cafe. I had a seasonal lucky charms latte, and an Italian sub with pasta salad. The servers were sweet and took care of me quickly even though they were quite busy! I just had to take a cupcake home. Definitely visit! read more

Even after we paid and were getting ready to go, another server tried to bring us our substitutions and sides that we requested 40mins prior. Golden milk tea was an interesting try. This is apparently an old place revitalized under new ownership. The fundamentals are there, with a fantastic space that looks out towards the water with indoor and outdoor seating. Despite the nice weather, I might have elected to sit inside had I anticipated the stinging caterpillars hanging around; not that it's the restaurant's fault as I saw them in other locales as well. Fortunately, I did not get stung, but someone nearby me did have a minor encounter. The place has lots of seating options, so just choose wisely. I was glad to learn that this is the sort of place that offers both its breakfast and lunch menu at the same time, and which has several notably different vegetarian selections that are worth choosing from. Despite pondering a tofu-based breakfast bowl, I was nonetheless tempted by a waffle, which arrived with a lightly chai-flavored cream as well as syrup and some fresh fruit. It was very nice. Ordering a tea got me a pot and a good quality bagged tea. They had a pastry selection as I wandered out, but I didn't need any more. Still, worth pondering for the future. read more

This was a good place for lunch, the decor and staff were nice and pleasant. The menu had some interesting selections. Service was excellent unfortunately the food was ho hum. Two diners had the waffle monte Cristo with ham, cheese, and a flavored maple syrup. I opted for the Reuben. All plates looked appetizing and were delivered hot from the kitchen. When I asked my friends if they would order this entree again and both shook their heads no. Their complaints were focused on how dry the sandwich was, and that the sum of the ingredients didn't really deliver a great version of this creation. My Reuben was OK - all the components were there but nothing seemed to gel quite right. There was an off putting flavor perhaps from the dressing? I do believe this cafe warrants a return visit to sample other offerings, but we are so done with ordering a $15 sandwich only for it to be sub par. Beaufort so needs a boost to its restaurant scene. There are many small towns that offer destination worthy eateries. Just not ours. read more
