    Dirty Walls

Dirty rooms with mold. No privacy. FALSE advertising. The photos of the rooms are beyond misleading. Privacy is non-existent. You can hear through the walls. Almost all of rooms are just modified duplexes/apartment buildings with shared entryways and balconies. We booked one room for almost $500 a night for a romantic evening and they tried to put us in a cheaper room thinking we would not notice. It was damp, moldy and I found a bug in the room. Once I complained that it did not match our reservation, they suddenly told us about an alleged A/C issue and tried to put us in a "better room". The furniture was damaged and the shower was moldy in that room and in NO way was this comparable to the reservation we made a month prior. Park passes, breakfast and bicycle rentals are "complimentary" but yet they charge you $18 a day resort fee to have access. I do not recommend staying here at all.

Dirty floor, filthy area rug, moldy bathroom.

We stayed in a pet friendly room that wasn't fit for my dogs let alone humans. Room #15 of The Female Benevolent House. Black mold was all through the bathroom, including the blinds. Floor boards were loose and filthy all through the room. Our dog spilled a little water from her dish and when I wiped the floor the towel was black, you will see it in the photos. Room service was non existent. Front desk customer service was poor. Emails were requested more than once for our room confirmation as well as an invoice upon our departure, they were never received. I have been calling the front desk all afternoon to request the emails again and there is no one there to answer the phone. I assume there are some nice rooms, according to the website pictures, and according to a few nice reviews but I will not recommend this "Boutique Hotel" to anyone and I hate to give it even one star.

Great location, good service , and they have modern room and traditional room. We did asked for the modern room but realized that the room across from our room was treated for mold so we asked them to move us to a different room and they didn't have any modern room available so we stayed at the traditional room instead which was not as big as the modern room. But they did try to accommodate us since it was our anniversary and gave us complimentary wine and voucher to stay for another night for next year. We'll be back.

This is one of the best inns I've ever stayed inn. It is a beautiful pink Victorian structure with its own little white cottages dotted around the property encompassing a city block as it grows. We stayed in one of the duplex structures because we brought a dog w us. It was absolutely well appointed and huge w antique furniture, beautiful hardwood floors, enormous bathroom w marble tiled shower and a separate jazzuci tub. I marveled at how well thought out the appointments in the room and inn in general were, I never needed for anything from the furnished robes to the fridge w shutter doors and mini kitchen sink area. The best part was it was a last minute reservation on a 4th of July holiday and the cost was exceptionally low. It over exceeded my expectations! The staff at the inn are super friendly and know hospitality is a great asset to have. They don't disappoint. The inn is located very close to the water and very convenient to all the things a person would want, such as shopping, restaurants and museums; very walkable. I have never been to Beaufort before but w the charm of this small city filled with old plantation style homes all over, old oak trees and hanging moss its a stunner. Probably why so many films have been here such as The Big Chill, Prince of Tides and approx 9 more in some of these circa 1700 yr old homes especially along Bay St off the marshland and water ways. Lots to do here in this historic city and I for one can't wait to come back again!

Decided to book a last minute trip to Beaufort and this was such a perfect stay for our little getaway weekend! Pebbles helped us with accommodations and was very kind and made sure we were taken care of. We had some issues with the remote that they quickly helped us resolve. We loved our little porch view and sitting outside in the evenings. Great little quiet spot. Right next to downtown. Super easy to walk around town! Will definitely be back again soon!

This hotel was wonderful. They made me feel so welcome! Patricia at reception went above and beyond. Customer service was so personalized and you felt very welcome. The fire pits and s'mores are adorable and they so free tea, coffee and water as well. The room was nice and comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. Easy parking too!

My wife and I stayed at The Beaufort Inn on September 18, 2020. Upon arriving we checked in at the main building of the Inn. When we arrived at the reception desk we were greeted. The receptionist began asking us a bunch of information that was already entered online. She said that not all of the information was received from the website. The main building was clean. Once checked in we were taken to the front porch and the receptionist pointed out the building that we were staying in. It was across the street and was called the Greyhound Flats. The receptionist also pointed out where the gate was for the entrance of the parking lot. The parking lot was located in between the main building and ours. Upon entering the parking lot I noticed that it was divided into two separate parking lots. One side for The Beaufort Inn and the other side was public parking. After parking our car we had to walk across through the public parking lot and around a small wall (which provided a divider between the room and the parking lot) to get to our room. Upon walking through the public side of the parking lot I noticed two signs that said reserved for the hotel we were booked with. It appeared that they were supposed to be for two rooms that were in the Greyhound Flats building (one of them was ours) but we were not allowed to park in the spots. The parking lot was a gravel style parking lot but was overgrown with grass and weeds in some areas. The Greyhound Flats was an old historic Greyhound bus station that was renovated to function as hotel rooms and some storefronts. My wife and I were in a hurry to get a bite to eat and then get to the Drive-in movie theater, so we just quickly grabbed our stuff and put it all in the room. We did not look around the room until we got back later that night. When we finally did, we were not satisfied at all especially after how much was spent on the room. The main door to the room was a split double door with windows on each door and had key style locks. One door had a deadbolt lock with a regular style door handle with a lock located on one of the doors. the other side of the door had the locks that went into the top of the door frame and then the bottom of the door. It appeared that the one that went into the floor was not properly working. The door would also not close properly unless you turned the door handle to close it. The room was also not cleaned properly. There was hair on the blankets, counter, and the robe. The blankets had stains on them. The toilet seat was a wood seat that was painted white and had scuffs in it so you could see past the paint. The toilet and floors were dirty. There was visible dust on items. The window coverings on the door were taped to the door to keep them close enough so people could not see into the room as they walked past the room. There was damage to the cabinetry and some of light fixtures appeared to be falling out of the ceiling. The kitchenette area appeared to be rundown as well. The cable TV was also not working properly. There was a channel guide with a bunch of channel listings and only a small number of channels worked. Even the binder with information was dirty and falling apart. We checked out via the phone in the morning becaue we just wanted to get out of there. It would have not been good if we went inside to check out with everything that was wrong with the room. My wife and I were very mad and had to calm down. Especially after paying almost $300 for the room alone not counting the pet fees. Yes, they allow pets. As we were leaving we saw the housekeeper go into our room to clean. The only cleaning supplies she had with her were in a small reusable shopping bag. Definitely not enough items for proper cleaning. Especially with the Corona Virus pandemic going on. When my wife contacted the Inn about our stay, she sent them some photos. We were not offered any refund but they did offer us a free night stay to give them another chance. They also said that they spoke to their cleaning staff about the condition of the room. If we do give them a second chance I will post an update.

This is a quant place on the outside and seems really nice. However our room cleaning was horrible. She never took the trash out. There was a ROACH, yes a ROACH on the floor dead when we arrived and it was never cleaned up. And when the cleaner did put towels in she just left them on the bed and didnt clean the bathroom...HORRIBLE. I will never stay here again Photos are if roach and overrun trash

The bedroom section of our suite. The suite also has a large living room and bath. A very romantic place to stay.

Wow! This place is amazing! We took a chance on Hotwire.com snd I feel as if we won the lottery! A beautiful historic Inn. So romantic. Full service check in she personally showed us where to park, the coffee room with coffees, teas, bottled water PLUS they had just put out S'more sticks with personal bags containing chocolate marshmallows and graham crackers fire pits in the back court yard. She escorted us to what we thought would be our room but turned out to be a beautiful romantic suite.

Through our research, we finally settled on 607 Bay Inn and I'm glad we did. We were graciously welcomed upon arrival and given a lay of the land which included two communal kitchens, the veranda and balcony, and our room. Our room was situated on the second floor at the back of the house. Each room has its own private bath. We also received vouchers to be used for breakfast at our choice of a couple of different eateries downtown. 607 Bay is easily within walking distance of shopping and restaurants as well as the waterfront. The inn has delightful waterfront views itself. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony as well as our evening nightcap. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized I had an appreciation for architecture, especially that of the previous century or two. This inn has that charm in spades. Though the essentials are updated as you can see from the pictures, the old wooden floors have a creak to them and the doors to the front of the house have notes on how to open them with ease. It's a charm that, to me, is priceless. Everything at the inn was well appointed. We had zero issues during our stay. If we're ever back in the area, staying here again would be an easy yes for us. I would recommend it for you as well.

Unacceptable Safety Breach & Shocking Management Failures…read more I returned to my room at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15th to find housekeeping had left my door propped wide open to the public. I immediately went to the front desk where two receptionists were working. One receptionist located an available, clean room and actively began processing my safety transfer, while the other receptionist stepped away to call General Manager Faith Allen, who was off-property. Faith Allen explicitly ordered the staff to halt the transfer and withhold the clean room to prioritize guests who hadn't even checked in yet, forcing me out into the night for my own safety. When I noticed they wrongfully billed me for an extra night, I called Faith Allen on Thursday. Instead of showing accountability, she was aggressive and dismissive. She told me I checked out after 4:00 PM, ordered me to "live with it," and insisted I would absolutely be charged--completely ignoring that her own staff's severe safety breach forced my emergency departure. Her total lack of integrity and hostile attitude are a disgrace to the Hilton brand. When I tried to escalate her actions, I discovered the ownership group, Fidelity Management Group, has completely disconnected phone lines and ignores all emails. They are running a reckless franchise with zero local oversight. Ultimately, the Hilton Corporate Executive Office had to step in, override this local property, force a full night's refund, and issue major compensation for these severe violations. Avoid this location. Faith Allen is a liability, and Fidelity Management Group is completely asleep at the wheel.

The only negative is they don't honor Hilton credits because they don't have a restaurant. I think that's silly because they still do offer snacks and other things to purchase at the front desk. Street parking was easy, and I entered through the side door and walked to the front desk. Although I had already checked in via the app, I stopped by to get a plastic key. The front desk experience was flawless--attentive, polite, and efficient. They recognized my Gold status, explained the perks, gave a rundown of the amenities including food and bar options, and were generally top-notch. Every front desk employee I encountered during my stay--three in total--was consistently helpful, professional, and polite. They each made a great impression, and it's clear there's a strong team in place. My room was on the fourth floor--spacious, clean, and well-lit. It had two beds, a computer chair, a small desk area with outlets and USB ports, a TV, and a modern plastic satay cabinet. The lamp by the window had a comfortable chair and ottoman beside it, with a mushroom-shaped table that made that side of the bed more functional. There was also a table between the two beds, so the left bed had tables on both sides--very convenient. The room included a microwave, small refrigerator, a Keurig coffee maker, and an open closet with hangers, a luggage rack, iron, and ironing board. The foyer area had tile flooring, while the rest of the room was carpeted in standard hotel carpet--nothing remarkable. However, the hallway carpet on the fourth floor stood out with a beautiful, cosmic-style pattern that reminded me of the night sky. I usually don't even notice hotel carpets, but this one was genuinely attractive. The bathroom was especially impressive. It had extremely bright, flattering lighting with fixtures on both sides of the mirror and an additional ring light around the mirror. There was also a full-length mirror just outside the bathroom. Towels were thick and of good quality, and a hair dryer was provided. Breakfast had some highs and lows. On my first morning, the buffet included bacon, eggs, grits, breads, oatmeal, grapes, and potatoes. However, the regular coffee was completely out, and I had to grab a bottled water from the cooler while staff worked to catch up. The server, who was also cooking and cleaning alone, was doing her best in a clearly understaffed situation. The front desk was engaged and helping however they could, and that teamwork showed throughout the property. On day two, coffee was available, but the buffet trays were nearly empty when I came down. Offerings included grits, eggs, sausage, potatoes, and French toast--replacing the bacon and mini waffles from the day before. I chose to order a sandwich off the menu instead, skipping the buffet entirely. The same employee had been working the breakfast area each day and managed everything with a great attitude despite being clearly overworked. She even apologized again for the day before, showing that she genuinely cares about the guest experience. Employees like her should absolutely be recognized. Even the one housekeeper I passed was pleasant and friendly, and I believe I saw a manager at checkout engaging with another guest--he seemed approachable and personable. Overall, the hotel was clean, well-maintained, and staffed by people who care about guest satisfaction. While breakfast operations would benefit from more support, the team on-site made a real effort to cover the gaps and keep things running smoothly. Hilton should be proud of this staff--they're the kind of team worth investing in.
