Cost Roast, formerly known as Corner Perk was an excellent coffee find for my husband and I! We are coffee snobs - high quality roasts, housemade syrups, and creativity all equal a great coffee. Coast Roast had it all! We both had Irish Cream syrup, and it was the perfect latte. Just enough milk with great bean flavor and great syrup addition. They had many breakfast items, and we were able to enjoy breakfast together. It is also so cute inside. Don't let the May 2026 construction on the road keep you from stopping in! Every so often the wife and I take a road trip up the east coast; on this trip we were staying in Savannah Georgia but from there we decided to take a day trip over to check Port Royal South Carolina... with a goal in mind to have a simple, casual day with a visit to the Sands Beach Observation Deck and a hike/walk thru the Cypress Wetlands (path and boardwalk). We found parking right on Paris Ave (perfect spot to start our journey) but as we got out of the truck, we noticed Harbour Village with a true throwback vibe (as soon as I noticed the huge vintage gas station sign)... and there at the side of the road was Corner Perk. The place is so enticing on the outside (white and red building with open deck with plenty of seating)... we decided to check it out and the inside was just as pleasant. Lots of wood trim and colorful accents and the girls that welcomed us in were "perky" (no pun intended). My wife got a LAVENDER HONEY LATTE and I got a CHURRO LATTE. We noticed they had lots of breakfast options (omelettes, quiche, skillets, breakfast burritos, baked goodies and more). We didn't get any but we were tempted. We sat outside and enjoyed out coffees; my wife loved her latte and my Churro was sweet and delicious... and off we went for our hike thru the Cypress Wetlands. Afterward, I reminded my wife how good some of the bakery stuff looked so we ventured back in for round two... This time I had an Iced Cold Brew (can't recall if any special flavor) and we also got a couple items to snack on.... we shared a over the top, super rick BROWNIE and we also got a slice of BANANA BREAD (both were excellent). read more

Updated review...still delicious! We love stopping in to Corner Perk in Port Royal. The food is always reliable and delicious. There is a small parking lot just in front as well as street parking. You can dine inside or outside. You walk up to the counter to order and then take a numbered placard so they can find you when your order is ready. The biscuits are always banging, but we also love the skillet dishes, such as the huevos rancheros. You can earn rewards by typing in your phone number at the counter. They have your typical drinks, such as coffee and chai. When you are done, take a stroll near the Cypress wetlands. You are sure to see some lovely birds, an alligator to, and lots of turtles. read more

This coffee shop and eatery fits into the Port Royal neighborhood perfectly- rustic, a bit quirky and loved by the locals. Coffee is robust and rich and packs a flavor punch with every sip. Haven't tried the newer menu selections yet, but the variety of breakfast and lunch offerings looked great. We desperately need more quality and consistency in Beaufort. A bit all over the place with your orders... often wrong. They deliver food to your table that is not yours... even with numbers on the table associated with your order. Food was SHOCKINGLY expensive and we left hungry. Plus they take your order, you pay at the register and before you get your food you are asked to tip. Kicker is.. their 4 choices of tip % is... 20%, 25%, 30% or Custom tip. Interesting that they don't offer 15% as a choice. Probably not going back as it is really just OK. Arrived to take a walk through the Cypress Wetlands but told my husband I needed coffee first. He insisted we try a simple place (basically saying he doesn't want Starbucks). Coincidently here was this adorable place right by the main entrance to the Cypress Wetlands. Corner Perk looked more like a cottage than a coffee shop and I loved the bright red and white colors and all the trees that surrounded the building. Inside was adorable too. The girls that were working were all so sweet and helpful. Even though it's a coffee shop they also have a good menu of food too (typical breakfast items plus breakfast burritos and skillets). They had so many little bites to pick from too so we got a slice of banana bread along with our coffees. My Pumpkin Spice Latte was delicious and my husband loved his Churro Latte. The Banana Bread was so good that we stopped by after our hike to grab another one to have later (and we also got a brownie that was huge and super chocolatey). read more

We had family in town and wanted to support local- and decided to give Corner Perk another try. It was another fail-My daughter ordered an extra sweet roasted marshmallow topped drink- the drink was bitter, not sweet, and they barely roasted the mallow on top so it was a clump of floating mess. When she took it back to be "fixed" the girl at the counter had an obvious attitude and said it would be extra charges. My daughter paid for added cold foam to try and fix the drink it didn't help. I ordered a seasonal pumpkin drink that just tasted .... sad. It was bitter, watery, lacking flavor... easily summed up it tasted like bitter cinnamon water. 2 stars because food was good. This isn't the first time, but will sadly probably be the last. read more

My teenage grandson & I stopped in for breakfast on a Wednesday morning in early March. I was so excited to find a place open at 7am! We were lucky that we found a short line when we got there, and were greeted with a smile. There were two young ladies working behind the counter and the kitchen was directly behind them. I noticed a gentleman behind the counter, but over to the side and he was preparing a cup of coffee & chatting & laughing a bit with the ladies before walking away. I'll get to why I mention him in a sec. My grandson ordered brioche french toast from the Build your brunch menu. It was served a la carte $13. He also ordered a very small cup of cheesy grits ($3). His matcha iced latte ($4.60), unsweetened, was very good, after he added some sugar. I ordered the bacon basil biscuit - I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, it didn't come with eggs but the employee told me I could add eggs if I wanted to. It was a biscuit with spinach (lots of stems to pull off), bacon and a mayo-type sauce, which made it pretty messy. I would have LOVED this IF - the biscuit was larger so that I had a bite of biscuit with my bacon, spinach & egg, if they had added only one fried egg instead of 2 (they were sliding all over the place), and if the bacon and spinach had been chopped, torn or otherwise made more 'biteable'. The dish came with 4 pieces of fruit (2 pineapple & 2 melon) and cost $10 + $2 for the eggs. My latte was made to order - for a 12oz cup with vanilla bean ($1) & almond milk ($.65) - total $5.60, it was delish. Not sure why they charged extra for almond milk! When we found a seat at one of the long tables, the man that had been friendly with the ladies was seated across from me & he greeted us. I heard them call my name & mentioned that I thought they delivered to us - I had added a tip to my check. He told me that we retrieve our drinks & they bring out the food. When my grandson brought my latte, I mentioned that I was surprised that they served in a paper cup. The man asked me if I would like him to ask for a mug for me & I said, wow that would be nice! So he did! Very nice of him. He told me he is a regular & they are like family. I try to avoid drinking my latte in a paper cup, it makes the experience less satisfying. I really liked this place & wish we could have enjoyed the patio but it was chilly out & they don't have patio heaters. My total for this very small breakfast was $41.63 and I left a tip on top of that. If I'm dining at a nice restaurant with full service and nice tables, I expect these prices. But this is a very casual place & very self-serve. I think I want a little more for my money. I gave them 4 stars for the hours, the friendliness, the loyalty of the regulars & the cleanliness of the tables. The food was tasty. read more

I enjoy the Bacon-Egg-Chz on a bagel for a quick breakfast, but the fruit is not always fresh. Every time I end up with pineapple, it's cut so that the core is still in the piece. I don't have a knife to cut out the tough core, so it ends up being a waste. read more

Stopped here on a weekday, after walking at the Cypress Wetlands (free park, we saw 5 alligators, see photo). We ordered an avocado, egg and chorizo wrap, the cranberry, pecan and chicken salad wrap and 2 sweet teas. The avocado and chorizos wrap was good and the chorizo itself wasn't greasy (I would guess this chorizo is ground for Corner Perk). The cranberry, pecan chicken salad was just average. The sweet teas were flavored but they weren't sweet. We paid over $30.00 for 2 wraps and 2 teas, which I feel is pricey. I'm between a 3 and a 4 star review, since I can't give a half star, I'll go with 4 stars and hope the sweet tea gets sweeter. read more

I've been dying to try out this cute little coffee shop ever since I saw it. I loved the ambiance as soon as I walked in. Very cute decor and totally decked out for Christmas, which I love. The coffee was good! The food was pretty decent but very over priced. I had the avocado burrito. It was tasty and it filled me up, but I don't think it was worth the price. Port Royal is one of our favorite places to stay while traveling south and we happened upon this little cafe the first time we stayed in Port Royal last summer. A fantastic little coffee shop that serves a really good breakfast. The only issue I have with the barista is they follow the "Starbucks" model to make any hot drink by making it as hot as possible (Starbucks heats their milk to about 170-180F). This burns the milk and makes their lattes and the rest of their drinks unnecessarily bitter (ideally the milk should be between 130-135F). They did make mine "kids temp" which made it more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place! read more

While on family vacation to Beaufort, I needed to get a few hours of work done. The area is not highly populated with coffee shops, so I drove 45 minutes to Corner Perk (formerly Pluff Mud Coffee)... and that drive was well worth it! Corner Perk makes all their own syrups and flavorings. The staff suggested yummy flavor combos. I was originally going to get a boring cinnamon latte, but they suggested a CHURRO LATTE. Couldn't say no. After I soaked up a few hours worth of their speedy WiFi, I went back to the counter to order a spinach bacon salad and a second coffee. The salad was FRESH and delicious. Caramelized onions, crispy quality bacon, lemony dressing, snappy spinach. Yum. My second coffee was an iced coffee. The same sweet barista who made be a churro latte asked if I'd like to try honey in my coffee. I wasn't sure how I felt about honey in coffee, but I told her I was hesitantly willing to try. She fixed it up and told me if I didn't like it, she'd make me a new one. Of course I loved it! Things to consider: I used to go here but stopped quite some time ago, here is why. the increase of pricing: for example a Gluten free bun used to be 4 dollars which was a lot , then raised to 5 which is just greedy when one can buy an entire pack for just about that cost. 1 small sausage patty is 5.00, once again beyond greedy. 10 dollars for a bun and sausage and you leave hungry. they dont include a side, they add on a cost really without telling you unless you are watching the cost. The coffee is good but still more expensive then it needs to be. This place is not as busy as it once was and people are talking outside this place with these very concerns I write about. If you keep raising your prices out of greed it is felt and I believe this place will keep losing customers. Funny how they raise the prices but the food portions are still the same or get smaller. read more

Food definitely filled our morning brunch craving. Wait was a lot longer than we expected. We probably waited about 30-40 minutes at the table before it got to us, nobody informed us about the wait as we ordered at the front. Still good food. I ordered eggs extra cheesy with an iced almond milk latte and my boyfriend ordered the French toast with an iced chai tea latte. My eggs were only half cheesy and the rest a little over cooked. His French toast definitely won the meal between the two of us, I just wish it had included some kind of fruit or some kind of additive to make it a little more special. We both agree it was good food and good drinks, with a great outdoor atmosphere, it just lacked on service at the counter and could improve on food quality slightly. Adorable place (small) with some of the best smells of Port Royal. Ordered a brown sugar latte with oat milk and was very impressed. So good, smooth espresso and just sweet enough. Didn't get food but it smelled excellent. Barista was very pleasant and recommended a bag of their Indonesian blend of beans for the road. Looking forward to visiting this spot again soon. read more
