I moved to Myrtle Beach about a year ago and made an appt. with Dr. Tracy Nelson for my OB/GYN and HRT needs. When meeting Dr. Nelson it is clear that she truly understands not just the medical aspects of HRT, but also the emotional and psychological impact it has. She listened to all my concerns and developed a treatment plan for me. I immediately felt supported and never felt rushed or unheard. Since beginning my hormone treatment, it has been nothing short of transformative. I feel more like myself again both physically and emotionally. What a game changer! Waited 3 months for the first appointment. Received a call the day prior to reschedule the appointment. It would be another 3 months for the next appointment. Asked why and received a very ridiculous excuse that the Dr. was over booked. I think the scheduler needs to do a better job if that was truly the case. Rudeness seems to be an ongoing problem for a few years now. She was very rude. No excuse for this behavior. I would have loved to see the Dr. but I will not be treated like that again. I have to give one star for my doctor and the front desk ladies (Tyshawn and Mary) because they are amazing. However, their appointment scheduling person is the most god awful I have ever witnessed. I have been hung up on, have called more than four times, left a message, and was eventually told to go elsewhere because they couldn't help me. Treating your patients like this is unacceptable and this is not the first time they have done this, they often do not pick up the phone. I am at the point where I am seriously considering going to another doctor because I am so tired of their awful service. I can understand being busy or having a lot of appointments booked, but being rude about it is something I cannot. I highly recommend my doctor, but if you want to wait 6 months not only for your appointment but to even speak to someone there I suggest you go somewhere else. read more

Highly recommend Dr Tracy Nelson. I've been seeing her for the past 7 years. She's Yale educated, very caring not just about my lady parts but about my life in general. She's always on time with my appointments. She has the best bedside manner I've encountered- ever! I never wait more than 15-20 minutes in the waiting room and less than 5 in an exam room. Her nurses are great as well. As for front desk staff it's a hit or miss. Sometimes I go and they're extremely professional and courteous and sometimes they aren't. read more

Unfortunately, the lack of organization and lack of communication in this practice results in poor patient treatment. i really wanted to love this office and made every allowance for them- we have a shortage of OBGYNs in this area, so I don't expect to be seen on time. But waiting an hour in a treatment room wearing only paper to be told after the fact that the doctor won't even be in the office is not OK. read more

This place is amazing. I had my first spa day with Char as they now have esthetics in the office. I had the VI peel and first ever Xeomin (similar to Botox) injections. After only one day I can tell a huge difference with the Xeomin. This stuff is amazing. Shana and Char are so wonderful and gave me step by step instructions on what to expect as well as aftercare. Can I put ZERO stars? They threatened to put me in collections if I didn't pay off my balance in 6 months (as soon as I got the bill- it hadn't been lingering)... I was confused at this statement because I had always heard that as long as you make consistent payments, they won't put you in collections... she said that was their policy and I could pay any amount I want but if it wasn't 1/6 of the bill then I will get a collections notice right away. I guess they assume the average person can pay ALL off their medical bills in 6 months. Who knew? read more

I have been to magnolia before and had a great doctor (Cher I think her name was) but this time I had NP odonald and the way she treated me was very upsetting and honestly borderline mysoginistic. When I shared and experience of weigh gain due to birth control she said "well that's not because of the bc, that's because you were eating more" (BECAUSE OF THE HORMONES?!) (I am literally 117 pounds, don't know where this was coming from) and she also was walking out and said to her assistant "order her (test) for that abnormal facial hair she has" as if I wasn't there. I don't have a beard or anything noticeable and I felt like there could've been a much better way of saying that. I have never in my life written a review for anything and im a generally agreeable person, but going to a women's health specialist is such a vulnerable experience and I feel that it should be handled with much more care than this. I will be returning to magnolia but I will not visit this specific doctor again. read more

Friendly front office staff. Dr Nelson was fabulous! I did have to wait over an hour. That and the fact they have two offices which I wasn't told about so I went to the wrong office initially kept me from giving them a 5 star. Evidently that is a problem because another patient in front of me also went to the wrong office and the nurse mentioned it happened frequently. read more

Disregard the other reviews.. just go and experience it yourself. They were very unhelpful reviews in my opinion. Even from the first phone call I was treated very nice and got a congratulations on finding out I was pregnant. They got me right in with Dr.Brown ( who we love) . She has done nothing but take her time in answering all of our questions . We've been going for several months now. My blood work has been done there with no issues.. if I have a problem and need to speak to the triage nurse, she always calls me back within 30-45 minutes. I've had to go in as a work in twice for various issues and not once have they been rude or condescending to me .. my husband and I are first time parents so we obviously have tons of questions and concerns. We love this place and highly recommend !!! read more

After countless amount of attempts to get in touch with this office staff, I got tired of having to leave voicemails DURING business hours and NOT getting a call back. I was being seen for my first pregnancy and when I asked for an emergency appointment but they couldn't schedule me until 1 week after the emergency took place, I decided to nicely leave the practice and go else where. When I cancelled my final appointment, I got a phone call from the nasty office manager stating that it's a "law" that once I leave this practice and I can never come back to be seen ever. I explained that I loved the office while I was there, but considering this is my first child, I would like to be a bit more valued and I wanted to continue being seen for regular OB services but she made it clear that this was a "personal" problem of mine and that I will no longer be eligible for Magnolia's services. Such a great way to treat a client that was paying out of pocket for each visit (: do not recommend if you value yourself and you're carrying a sweet child! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The Doctors and providers in this office are very nice. However it does not make up for the fact that the office staff is rude and disrespectful. The billing department makes a practice of calling and being disrespectful to expectant mothers and talking down to them while explaining their global plan. They nickel and dime you to death at every visit and make it very clear their first priority is the money. Patient care is somewhere low on the totem pole. Then they break their own contracts and over bill you and your insurance and refuse timely refunds to their patients. Denise actually laughed at me on the phone when I asked for a timely refund. They expect you to wait until your child is at least 5 months old to see money that is rightfully owed to you. I should mention this refund is greater than $1000. I was told that if I was over charged I would receive a refund prior to paying any money. What they failed to mention is that I would have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to be returned what is mine. I encourage everyone to check their EOB's and request itemize bills. Report their billing practices if you like me have been overly charged and defrauded by their "contracts". Clearly the office staff does not take them seriously because they will charge more than the written amount by billing multiple times for services that should be covered in the first place. If you are fortunate enough to not already be caught in this mess run!!! Find another office that prioritizes patient care and makes you feel valued as a patient. the NPs are super thorough. not crazy about the phlebotomist or sonographer. the sonographer was unfriendly and snippy. she huffed and puffed the whole time she was doing it. she was too aggressive for a tv us. I had to go back for another and she grilled me to see why I was back bc she didn't understand why it was necessary for me to be back. there is definitely an issue of not knowing her own lane or how to be professional. The phlebotomist I was told was returning from lunch in 15 mins. I had already been sitting in waiting room for over three hours. so I waited another 15, then the front sent me back. She definitely took way longer on her lunch. finally she sent me back to waiting room as I waited in front of the lab while she took that extra lunch time. when she did call me and drew blood, she was sloppy. Just moved here from up north and I had to get a new birth control implant in my arm because the one I have currently is about to expire. I had my first appointment and they said they would call to schedule my next appointment to get the simple procedure done. It has been a month and I had to call to ask how it was going and they had no information on it and they still have not ordered the implant or did anything with my insurance. The lady on the phone said she would call me back later today and she never did. Dr. Markley is absolutely a Godsend! She is the best at what she does, and as a person. Very knowledgeable, passionate, and extremely caring. She has a heart for those she helps and instills hope. Norah Nutter was the most unprofessional APRN I've ever seen in my history of doctors. I went for an unexplained issue and told her specifically to not do pelvic exam testing on me-- she proceeded to force the unlubricated speculum inside of me despite my persistent begging of "no" and "please stop." After she'd pulled it out I was sobbing in hysterics and she proceeded to try to force a finger in. Again, I screamed, feeling uncomfortable beyond words after I had made clear what I was and was not comfortable with. She had medically violated me- and that's not normal and should never be considered normal. It was traumatic, and her testing was completely inconclusive. I had to go to ANOTHER ob/gyn because I left feeling angry, disturbed, and traumatized. She also did lab work at the end of our appointment and I'd made sure I signed a release form so my mother could get my records should I be unable to- and two weeks passed before I heard from them again. I made clear to Norah that I am prediabetic, not on medication, and had eaten that morning, so my levels would probably be abnormal. She said it was fine and proceeded with blood work anyways. Norah called me on the phone to tell me that my insulin levels were high, and she suspected I had insulinoma, or as she phrased it, "a tumor". She never did imaging to confirm or deny this, she threw it out arbitrarily as she had with other random diagnoses during our visit. Diagnoses that don't fit, no less. She said she'd put in a recommendation an endo in Conway named Dr. Mack and said they'd call me in 1-2 weeks. Never got that call. The minute she said "tumor" I was on the phone with my normal endo. I saw her, fasted, and had testing, and there was nothing she saw that could make her relatively believe I had insulinoma or a tumor or any sort. I required my lab work from Magnolia in order to show my endo, and they refused to fax it because my endo isn't on their "approved list". My mother went to pick up the papers so we could take them, and they said I'd never signed a release form, and would have to come down and sign one. If I could give Magnolia 0/0 stars, I absolutely would. Horrible service received from horrible, unsympathetic staff. Absolute garbage. read more

Underage daughter does not have insurance. Took her for her initial appointment a month ago and was charged 240.00. That was ok. She got a quick exam with a doctor (No pap) for a birth control prescription. Exam was quick and samples of birth control were given. She was scheduled to come back to get the prescription in a month. AT NO POINT did they state the fee would be another 240.00 to take vitals and write a prescription that should have been written the first time the fee was paid at this second appointment. Talk about a SCAM. When I called the dr. office, about this unjustified double charge I was hung up on by "Head" of financial department. DO NOT USE THIS DR.'S OFFICE THEY WILL SCAM YOU TO MILK AS MUCH MONEY OUT OF YOU AS POSSIBLE! TO DO SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE IN THE FIRST VISIT! I had an appointment that I scheduled 6 months ago. I filled out all of the paperwork online like they ask. My appointment was at 10 am. I got there at 9:45 and signed in at the front desk and the lady ask for my name. I ask if she needed anything from me she said "no, looks like you filled out the paperwork online." I sat in the waiting room for an hour before I went to the desk to ask what was going on. My name was marked off of the list with the next 8-10 patients (like they had already called me back). Before I could get back to my seat I get a text that my nurse is waiting on me. Really? Where? The nurse called me within minutes of me approaching the front desk. Surprise! Crazy how that works! Get to the back and voice my concern and was told they have new employees up front. She takes me to a room and I sit for another 30 min. I was there 1 hour and 45 min and never saw a doctor! My wait time was 15 -20 min which was much shorter than wait times for other offices. My pregnancy was high risk but Dr. Nelson safely delivered my little girl. Everytime I go to this doctors office I sit for 45 mins to an hour in the waiting room. They must schedule other people at the same time. (I'm currently in the office now -been here for an hour and 15 mins) Seems like dr Nelson is too busy to see her patients. Every time I see her she tries to rush me out to get to the next patient. Which doesn't make much sense since I'm the one waiting on her. This is my first pregnancy and I was hoping I'd have someone who really cares and explains every step along the way. I haven't gotten any help with that at all. The only doctor I've seen who I really liked was dr brown. She's very sweet and seemed like she cared the most about my pregnancy. The staff is rude and doesn't schedule the correct appointments. They were supposed to schedule the first ultrasound for me and never did. Everyone in this office is confused and very unorganized. I just want to say that back in 2000 I was a patient of doctor Tracy Nelson and up until this day I have not forgotten about her she has truly made and an impression that has lasted this long And in 2000 when I gave birth to my son she was my doctor during my pregnancy and when I went to the hospital she personally drove me to grand strand hospital because my husband was at work and I went from my usual check up Now I remembered I was past my due date and even know I felt fine she took me to the hospital and I still remember it was a drop top BMW two door and I was thinking how am I 9 months going to fit but I did and the was pretty funny I wore at the moment a mean I was scared because I was about to go and give birth but now that I look back it is pretty cooI forgot what it was but my husband wasn't there and she rushed me to the hospital she was there through me she was there for me and I just want to say from the bottom of my heart that I'm forever thankful I was rather a difficult patient because I have been through some abuse in my life ( scarred ) and I know I made it hard for her to it examine me due to my trauma and that she was extremely professional and completely understanding and for that I think you and I have never forgotten about you thank you Dr. Tracey Nelson sincerely Lisa M. The staff isn't quick on answering or returning phone calls at all including from another Dr's office. I find this type of behavior is very unprofessional in many ways. I went to another Dr's office on 06/6/2018 and the Dr's nurse has been try to contact the Dr who perform service on me, because she has a few question but calls has went unanswered. This could be a matter of life or death of a patient due to the staff not returning phone calls. read more

I was a little apprehensive about my appointment after reading the reviews. And even more so after sitting in the waiting room for 15 minutes listening to a few ladies who came out complaining about how long they had been there and how unhappy they were. They were cussing and were very rude to the receptionist. However, I had a wonderful experience. I was there for an annual exam (not for pregnancy). My appointment was at 12:30 and I was called back at 12:45. My nurse was very nice and professional. I saw Dr. Nelson and she was wonderful. She apologized for running late (no big deal to me). She was friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable with her. I was leaving the office by 1:45. To me, a little over an hour start to finish is great for a doctor appointment! The office staff was wonderful to work with as well. I would say the only negative thing about this practice is the other patients. read more

As an established patient with Dr. Tracy Nelson of Magnolia in Myrtle Beach, I was shocked to learn upon calling to make an that I was arbitrarily "dropped" as a patient. The reason given was twofold. First, I was chastised for not having made an appointment for the past 3 years. If someone from Magnolia had called to inquire as to why, I would have advised that over the past 3 years I had four separate cancer surgeries at MUSC in Charleston, one major requiring extensive facial reconstruction. Also, I had major back/spine surgery at MUSC within the past 3 years. I also required numerous time-consumung MRI'S, X-rays and other tests, plus follow-ups, physical therapy, etc. In addition, I have been receiving regular Cortisone injections for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on both hands with upcoming surgery on my left hand later this month and my right hand in February. The second issue is that I had called Dr. Nelson's office to make an appointment for a Well-Woman exam and in addition, of the MRI's showed an ovarian cyst. The receptionist I spoke with at Magnolia told me that my account was CLOSED and I could NOT be reinstated as a new patient because Dr. Nelson no longer accepts Medicare. Please note I had Medicare coverage when first established as a patient with Magnolia and afterwards they stopped accepting new patients with Medicare. I also have BCBS supplemental medical insurance. So, I was basically kicked to the curb by Dr. Tracy Nelson of Magnolia OB/GYN. Therefore, I had to regroup and become established with another OB/GYN and have an Ultrasound of painful ovarian cyst. I think the way I was treated by Magnolia OB/GYN was incredibly unprofessional, crude and insensitive. Insurance money comes first with Magnolia OB/GYN and in my case neither the patient or her gynecological conditions are of any concern whatsoever to Dr. Tracy Nelson. You can take that to the bank. $$$ read more
