Very knowledgeable, whimsical, lighthearted, and free spirited. The perfect person to lead an adventure into the Oregon wilderness. Our trip started with a short van ride from the Fred Meyer parking lot. She shared lots of knowledge about various trees in the area, wildlife, things the local government was doing to help clean up some of the territory we're gonna be going to explore the cave. She seemed like somebody who genuinely enjoys her job, likes to explore, and is just a genuine, good person all around. Going into the cave was surreal, almost like stepping into a different climate. It definitely felt like it was 45° all year round down there. Once we lost the natural lighting too it became very spooky, but everybody had headlamps so it was pretty easy to see where we were going. My wife and I saw a few baby brown bats hanging out on the walls while we were there. They were so tiny and cute! I'm glad they're able to survive down there. I really like that her tour guy gave us a choice between one of two directions into the cave. I have really bad knees, and thankfully, our tour guide, and our group was able to respect that. We had a very good lighthearted adventure down in the dark. My favorite part was when we all got to turn off our headlamps for a little bit, and stay silent, and just enjoy utter blackness. Deathly felt like a good way to de-stress a little. Shay was a fantastic tour guide and we are definitely going to be using this to our group again in the near future. Thanks for the memories!

Stargazing tour of meteor shower was not up to expectations. We were taken barely out of Bend. We…read morehad been told that groups had been out and had seen up to 100 meteor and that August 12th should be great. I think I saw maybe 20. My wife saw only 7. We took a blanket as instructed and basically sat in dirt for the evening. This wasn't a real dark sky experience. We saw more stars walking back to the van. People need to be told they need to bring a chair with zero reference to a blanket on the ground and that they will be taken slightly outside of Bend. There needs to be a better group huddle to point out what people are looking at and what to expect. We planned our trip around this outing almost a year in advance. It was far below expectations.

I came across Sun City Wine Tours and went with them because they had reasonable rates and seemed like a legit business. And I'm so glad I did! Our driver Christi was as good as we could have ever hoped for. She customized our wine tour based on several requests: - good mix of red and whites due to different preferences in our group - wineries close to one another so we can visit as many as possible - pretty wineries so we can record our fabulous adventure and make the boys jealous Christi hit every single request on the mark. On top of that, she would personally walk us into the wineries to introduce us and even set up a cute little picnic for us outside when we were ready for snacks. If you are looking for a great guide and an overall relaxing afternoon to enjoy wine and friends without worrying about the logistics, Christi is your gal!

The train stopped at the Fruit Factory gift shop. There were lots of choices for a souvenir or gift. Also in the same location is a winery. I used their bathroom sink to wash my hands and ..,.. the faucets were so cool. The site to see is that you are standing between Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood. While riding the train, we saw lots of nature, trees, rivers to see along the way and back. The train ride is a must. I would love to go again.

This weekend we got around to investing more time in the trails of Butte and it was pretty fun. The trails don't allow for a complete loop around the rock, as there's a block for restoration on the east side. But you can wander most of the way around the water side...up and around the rocks is really where's it at though. There are 3 access points to the top from the trails, and the bouldering up is loads of fun. Once atop you can roam all about and enjoy fabulous views from every angle. While the remainder of the trails at Butte are average, we found it pretty entertaining to climb around the rock portion. There's a decent amount of parking...Discover Pass required...as well at a vault toilet at the trailhead.

We did the 4 hour, 4 brewery tour and it was just as educational and interesting as it was fun and delicious. Our guide, Jared, was very informative and made the day relaxing and interesting. He was helpfully conversational on many topics beyond just beer, but other questions about Bend and activities we were interested in. The brewery guides at each stop were gracious to have us and loved sharing their beers, which was nice to feel welcomed around the brewery scene. We just got back from a 3 night, 4 day family adventure with Echo on the Rogue River in Southern…read moreOregon. It was spectacular. The guides (Kaela, Laurie, Dustin, Mike and Nate) worked like dogs to make the trip safe, fun for kids and relaxing for the adults. There was coffee ready every morning. Delicious breakfast. Yummy lunch. Great dinners with plenty of beer, wine and sodas. Laurie, our "Food Dude," was even kind enough to bring along Pringles as a special request/treat for the kids. We ended up asking Echo to supply our tents and sleeping bags. I read the earlier review about a sandy tent, but ours were clean and in good condition. It made the trip all the more relaxing for our family to not have to worry about packing our camping gear. We just threw our clothes in a bag and were ready to hit the water. As an aside, my husband is a seasoned drift boater/rafter who has been on the Rogue (and many other rivers) on his own many times. He was hesitant about going on a guided trip, but was pressured into it by me - a mom who wanted some down time from cooking, prepping, etc. His one complaint was that he couldn't drink beer while on the river. Of course, this is a safety issue, so he gets it overall and enjoyed his time otherwise. I think it is a testament to the entire Echo team that he ended up having a great time and would love to travel with them again. If you are looking to take a trip on the Rogue (or Salmon!) River, I highly recommend that you consider Echo.
