We have known Dr. Soo for quite a few years now and would not consider anyone else for spinal surgery. He is truly a genius and is a very caring doctor. I had a very rare condition in the spinal cord in which Dr. Soo performed an operation. He took the time to research and care for my case personally, above and beyond the call of duty that no other physician would take on. His sense of humor lightens the mood of some potentially bad news. But I assure you, if it can be fixed, he will fix it!!! Both offices are very busy, however, if you are able to book an appointment on a Thursday, I find that the Novi location to be a bit less crowded. You should book your appointment at least a month in advance, or two if you can. To avoid a long wait, you can ask for the first appointment of the day. Just a couple suggestions that are hopefully helpful.

His surgical team synchronizes his orchestral abilities to perform complex neurological surgeries. As a Nurse, and clinical coordinator, I have seen the best, in my region. Dr. Kelkar is now at the top of that list. I had adverse symptoms in my limbs before the surgery despite Physical Therapy for almost a year. The symptoms disappeared from my limbs immediately PACU. I am so, so grateful I was blessed with Dr. Kelkar's hands.

Immediately after surgery, the preoperative pain was gone (although there was postoperative​​ pain related to the surgery, it was only temporary). I went in for my 6 months​ follow up​ yesterday. The x rays showed complete fusion (healing) and on top of that, I continue to enjoy my pain-free​ status with excellent​ function. I love this guy, he's compassionate and caring. He talks to me like a regular person and has never made me feel like he was in a hurry. After surgery I had some issues, partly due to my having fibro and he was so patient with me. The office staff is very friendly. The only thing I could complain about is Dr Houseman's PA at Ascension Macomb. He's quite abrupt and cold. He would walk-in all high and mighty, no smile, just stand there and say "Ready to go home". Never bothering to ask how I was feeling, if everything was ok, just informing me that if I didn't go home after 3 days I'd have to go into a nursing home! (My dad had just died the week before in a nursing home) It would of been nice to know these things BEFORE surgery.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They didn't take me back until 2:15. The doctor did not come in the room until sometime around 3:30pm. I went to ask if they perhaps forgot about me (this actually happened to me at a different place) and they assured me that this long wait is normal. What? If it's normal then perhaps trying to come up with a solution for this issue would be beneficial. My only bit of solace was knowing that they close at 4:30 so I knew I couldn't be there forever. My appointment lasted under 10 minutes. I had another appointment and because I waited so long the first time, I wanted to arrive exactly at my appointment time. I misjudged the time and would be 10 minutes late. I called though to tell them and I was put on hold. They informed the doctor and he said we would have to reschedule! lol! The person on the phone was super friendly and apologetic but I think it's insane that I can wait so long for my appointment the first time which is "normal" but they couldn't take me 10 minutes late?!? It makes me feel as though they really don't care about me as a patient. At all. I'm in pain and my appointment was just for a steroid shot.

I called that day and learned that the office had not submitted the invoices. In the meantime I was paying what was believed to be my bill on the day of my adjustments. When I hit my deductable with my insurance company, I then had a credit with Dr. Arnold. Funny thing is the office staff could not find my credit on their books. Then the doctor wrote me a letter and dumped me as a patient. He mentioned my account and that he could not help my physical situation. What a coward, he couldn't even face me. I was going in for maintenance adjustments. I wasn't asking him to fix anything. So the office staff does not know how to bill, they will keep money that is owed to you and the doctor may dump you due to their inabilities. I suggest finding a different chiropractor.
